Hi ! You guys remind me of my family when I was a child. Taking your sons on adventures like this will shape their lives forever, just like it did mine ! My dad used to say to us that we could be dropped anywhere in the world, we would always land on our feet. Now I'm 58yrs old and my dad passed away this year, but the traveling microbe is still alive. So I am planning on trekking the K2 base camp also and just finished watching all your video's. Thanks for sharing your amazing journey. It's so helpful for me to prepare for the trek. I will be watching it again no doubt !

I love your kids.. their attitude so great... and also your wife... she is toooo decent and composed... and you are also very humble when stating ladies from japan carrying an umbrella with porters, etc you didn't disgrace them instead appreciate their effort and justify if one ca afford then why not... that the best part of travel that you don't shame others... loads of love and respect from Overseas Pakistani... wish me luck as I m also planning to do this...

Most guys visiting K2 which is not a big count are professional climbers and they usually dont bother which such videos. Looking forward to follow your trip and stories/Videos from this trip. We we really hope we succeed in a daily vlog on the trek. We should have at least a semi daily vlog when all said and done with at leads a dozen videos and it will be packed with tons of info and scenery. And then all the other videos of our experiences up in the northern cities. Hopefully we have about 20 videos from this trip capturing it for our memories and providing more info for anyone who wants to visit Pakistan.
@@WheretheJones this sound amazing thou in Northern areas internet is v slow if available as its mostly pretty remote in mountains (maybe SCO sim can provide you some coverage, in cities its fine) but on treks there is definitely no mobile network thus no internet except satellite one which is super expansive, but will love to see videos when you return to a coverage area. In City Internet is just fine.
Yah. We will be out of all signal for 16 days. We will have scom sims for traveling around Hunza and Gilgit. But our trekking company will have a satellite phone for emergencies.

K2 trek is nothing Like everest... much more isolated and dangerous... youll be crossing rapid Rivers of Melted glaciar water and the Harsher Nature of the área makes It more difficult. GL!
While going high, don't get too much load on you. Just keep essentials (Warm clothes including gloves, jacket(s), socks(s), warm cap(s), bglasses, water bottle, under trousers, *** water and some food (like Chocolates, Dry fruit) are must*** to gather up all your strengths on the way up) and of course your trekking equipment.
We welcome you with open hearts, and most of us being Pakistanis would have never been to K2 base camp. So it is an eye opener for us well. God bless for making a vlog on it. I hope more people will come visit our beautiful country after this tourism boom policy by our Honorable PM.
Even to reach K2 base camp you have to walk 200 km from Nearest town, that includes mostly Glacier's going Up and Down, plus K2 has Its own Weather (un-like Everest ) it can be Windy, Rainy, thunderstorm with lightning ,Specially at mid of Mountain, and there is no infrastructure so you have to camp on glacier and there area is also very active means avalanche's and land slides and huge cracks in glaciers are common in simple words everest is fun theme park , and K2 is real thing . and yes you will fall in love with our food and our country's beauty and our Hospitality .

I'm going for the k2 trek in 2 weeks and am studying the details of your videos. One question though; I notice you wear glasses, but sometimes you have sunglasses on. What do you use, prescription sunglasses, or something special over your glasses? I normally wear transitions which are pretty good on beach and snow, but don't cover lateral light.
