Thank you for this tutorial. I just recently purchased a used 2018 Camaro SS that only came with one key. I purchased another online and followed your procedure! Worked perfectly!
This was a very helpful video..although the end for me wasn't the same as my process(I went into extreme panic but I figured it out). I ended up successfully adding a new key to my 2018 cadillac xt5 with only the original! Thank you!!!
did you ever try this and find out? currently doing the programming myself and it doesn’t seem like an instant thing. been waiting for the “ready for remote 2” signal for over 5 minutes now…
How long was the wait time before you got the message saying it was ready for remote number two.....the video skipped...Did the message just pop up or did you have to activate screen by opening door ?
Will remote start feature still work?. and can you reprogram the original key. Im having an issue with my receiver for key and will be replacing the receiver but will need to reprogram key so hopping it will work with the original keys.
If remote start is integrated in the key meaning there is a button specifically for remote start and its not an aftermarket add on, then it should be fine.
When you do this process, could you have programmed the ORIGINAL (working/programed) remote first? You see I have 1 programmed remote and need to program a 2nd one. The second one is an OEM key that I purchased online that was used and programmed, but according to the seller, the key has been reset electronically so it can be programmed again.
Did this work for you? I recently purchased Camaro with only 1 key fob and purchased a key fob online. Do I need to get the new key fob emergency key cut?
@@smokey582 you do not need your original keys but keep in mind some vehicles will require two keys to be programmed in order for the car to be turned back on.

It should work with a used key, it has to do with the car computer adding the unique code to its table. It should also work by adding the remote for another car that uses the same type of remote.
Customer already had the original key so we just duplicate that with our machines. If you do not have it, then youll need to order one from the dealer or call a professional locksmith.

My key is programmed to my 17camaro Theft deterrent system light is on but I’m still able to remote start my car and start the car with the key fob in the cup holder. Do you know when will the theft deterrent light turn off?
