It was the biggest in Eve‘s history, involving 7,548 players belonging to 717 corporations and 55 alliances. More than 20 million soldiers were killed aboard the 600 or so Capital-class ships that were destroyed. Of those, 75 were Titans-16 from Clusterfucks’ forces and 59 from N3/PL. The previous record for most Titans lost in a single battle was 12.
which was ironically exactly 1 day before the new titan wrecks were introduced leaving to an anomaly called the "tintanochromacy" which is a monument with the new wrecks also, the fight happened (even more ironically) 1 year (exactly) after the last fight where tons of titans were lost, asakai. which was the previous record holder .
This was the fight of a lifetime, and I was there. Quite possibly the most intense thing I have ever experienced. I saw titans blowing up next to me as I just barely got my last ship out. I was one of the few to experience the aftermath. Those of you just watching this video, you don't understand the life or death feeling you would ever have when in that battle.
I love 'I was there' stories it really brings in the reality of the fight instead of just pixels exploding, every explosion was felt by hundreds even thousands of real people.
I don't play Eve, and I really can't make anything out of what I'm seeing here, except that it's a super large scale interstellar battle. I think I have heard of this Battle of B-R5RB about a year ago when it was basically a huge issue in the internet... on stories on how it began after some one messed up on payments. It is intriguing because after scanning the chatter all over the internet regarding this, I could feel the passion of the players involved, and how it spilled over to people like me who have no clue about this game. Of course, much of the mainstream took notice of this virtual skirmish MAINLY because of the real world money that was lost in this online battle. After reading some texts and personal accounts of some of the players from the factions involved in this incident, I can feel how monumental this battle meant to them. They were talking about this like it was some sort of "virtual Valhalla" where, out of nowhere, players logged in in order to take part... to defend... to attack... to stand fast... to rush in to battle... to flank anyone who rushes... to reinforce comrades in need... anything to turn the tide in their faction's favor... The aftermath was just as intriguing as we heard of news that they were going to build a "monument" of sorts on the site of the great battle where players can take a sort of "pilgrimage" to the historical site. I am still torn about how to feel about this. On one side, I feel envy because this type of passion is what we are all after when it comes to online gaming... on the other side, the stories I get about players having to take day-offs from work as well as time from their loved ones to play the game for the glory of their faction just border on the obsessive. But from the outside looking in... It's beautiful!
Penemuelish That's because of the huge stakes involved. This is the second biggest battle in the history of MMORPG (The first being another EVE battle that took place 2 months later called "49-U6U Slaughterhouse"). A titan can take 6 months to build, 6 months where hundreds of players must take action to build it, be it defending the station where it is built (Titans and Supercariers, contrary to other ships, are built OUTSIDE a station, and can be attacked freely, so they must be defended), transporting resources, etc. And thats not counting all the other ships... Also, a loss in this game is definitive. There is no "ship respawn", there is no "recover my gear". Every single ship lost, every single module destroyed is out of the game forever. N3/PL lost more than 6 years of creating a fleet in that battle, they may never recover from this one. 6 years that are lost to the players. Thats why they did what they did. They had to.
+Penemuelish I don't really agree with it being bad because people skip work or some family stuff. I mean, lots of people skip work for their favorite hobby from time to time, and like you said; all any of us want is passion. Eve online is as good as any other.
I am not an EVE player, but reading about this and watching this is so fascinating. Watching/reading stuff unfold in this universe is just as entertaining as any Sci-Fi series. Amazing (Woodkid as the first song was a perfect touch, also).
I never managed to get into Eve, I tried the trial version but it just had too steep a learning curve for me. Still, I love hearing the insane stories that come out of the game since Eve fans are so dedicated to the game. I hope similar events happen in Star Citizen when that comes out, at least then I'll have some chance of understanding how to play the game ;)
God, I remember trying to get to this fight in a bomber but died in the first nulsec system to a gatecamp. Afterwards I watched the stream. This sort of thing gave me goosebumps knowing that the biggest coalitions in the game were shitting themselves for the better part of 20 hours. It was a day that changed history. It was a day where subcaps were told to not be in system and go fight elsewhere because of tidi. It was a day where both forces proved their worth in dropping the biggest ships in the game to destroy each other.

lol, only for people that pay for plex and sell it for in-game money. I never spent even 1 usd for a plex, and I make my own isk averaging 150 mio isk per hour (on two accounts with missions), so if my 1.9 bio isk carrier gets blown up, I have not even lost 1 usd (btw, I do not pay with credit card, i buy ingame plex with the isk i farm), so yeah, I never lost not even 1 usd worth of money in eve, i don't give a shit what the dumb people think that probably never took an ecomonics class lol.
DuddBudda as I mentioned before, I do not spend money on plex, so if 150 mio isk is worth 4$ to you, then you need to find someone that also believes that in-game isk has a real life value and make him your offer. Also, if you have a decent job it is not really hard to afford someone to come 1-2x a week to do the cleaning, so i guess you have to study harder to get a decent job to be able to afford paying a regular cleaner's wage, or, you can find someone in eve perhaps that thinks just like you.
68w86 no it does not. ISK only has a real money value for the people that are dependent on using money to buy it in order to play the game to their needs. If I want to own a rabbit, I can either go in the woods and catch one and take it home, or I can buy it in the market. The choice whether I spend RL money on it is mine. The difference between a rabbit and a CCP Pixel space ship is that the rabbit actually will then belong to me where your eve account as well as everything surrounding it will always belong to CCP. ISK has no real money value, only for the people that use money to obtain it in order to play the game, which is not the case with many eve players. People are basically giving CCP money but are allowed to use something in return that still belongs to CCP and always will. So one must be really dumb to spend money that way. Also, another reason ISK has no real monetary value is because you cannot turn ISK into real money. But since most eve players never took an economics class before, they will probably not know, in fact, one of the main reasons those people play is because they really think the pixel they blow up is worth money and that gives them the greatest joy to play... Idiots. Eve is essentially a F2P game after you have downloaded it at least (free in all aspects if you know the game mechanics and gamestyle well), so in a game where you can play with investing no more money is the third reason why for such people at least in-game currencies are also not worth real money. I hope, as someone with a business career, I could halfway convince you, I sure took the time trying to do so.

Something I just noticed... Titans are kind of like nukes. You throw one out onto the field, then the opposition fight back with about 50 more, then you throw down even more... then other people get involved, then.. uh.. the domino effect. yeah.
With the lag and Time Dilation (TiDi) we had on this fight, I was pretty useless. Shooting with my dreadnought when I could. (because of lag etc...) I was there to record the fight, lock the expensives targets focused by our fleets. Show the fight as a whole.
I might take a visit in my covert ops frig and give my respects to this battle in person. I normally don't go to Nullsec because I'm newer than most people but I'll go and check the place out sometime next month or so.

+RedRocket4000 It does make a big explosion. If you are in a small gang and find a lone dreadnought trying to stealth move, you will be able to keep the camera close to the action without melting your graphics card. In huge fights with thousands of players, you HAVE to keep the camera zoomed very far out, both to keep track of the overall tactical positions of entire fleets and also, more practically, so you don't do to your computer what the 'muricans did to Hiroshima. :)
*The only thing I don't like about this is that all of the ships are super close to each other, it would have been crazy if all of the ships were spread out more but still split into two sides.*

Is there a way to earn during the 14-days-trial enough ingame money to buy myself into the game instead of paying real money? I am good at sims and i loved to play X³. If not, is there a way to get someone as your sponsor of sorts? Are there clans that would pay for my monthly fee as an investment, so i can pay them twice as much later?

just some questions: 1. How did you know where your ship is ? Oo 2. What happens after one Team (or what they call (coalition i think ? )) wins ? 3. And how the fvck you aim ?
+NoIINameIIDe 1. You can just zomm in onto your ship, and you can enable dots with colors that represent friends(blue), enemys(red) and yourslef(green) for example. 2. You can kill everything and then capture the enemys terretorie but you cant really "win" its an mmo 3. You click on a target and lock him and the press shout, you dont have to aim
+NoIINameIIDe He aims using the overview "selected item" and all the stuff you see on the left. There's no need to see your own ship but you can zoom (which might leads to FPS crash in this situation) When a coalition wins, she's happy and take what's left ;)

But I don't care about that because it's enought with a video speed up That's why my video is fluid X with high graphics ingame ! (The battle in this video run at 3000% (x30) ) Hope you enjoy the video :)
AitoSuomiVideos This logo is the logo of the Coalition "CFC", we are now named as "Imperium" Coalition. (there is a new logo for "Imperium") But yes, I am in Goonswarm alliance.
+Stereals you can zoom in and out from your own ship. most of the time it benefits you to be zoomed out a good distance to understand we the enemies are.
+Nick S but how do you controll your ship in battle if you are so zoomed out? Its autopilot? So the game is pure strategy but no "man action"? Im comparing vs games like elite dangeorus. (Not saying wich is better, im just trying to understand this one)
And remember, all of this began, because someone forgot to pay It's a shame that there's no videos of the actual war, seeing the ships fly and the titans explode, just views from far away, leaving the war to imagination
Ha ha ha i still remember this... i took part in this battle but after losing my ship, i just said meh this will one day become a historical event in gamining history.
Can someone let me know how to find videos of players fought in this battle? I need a better view,in this vid i only see some big spheres and plenty of laser beam "..."
+Long Nguyen Thanh Most players were probably zoomed pretty far out like this. In a battle this large, (most battles really), the player is looking at their UI. You can see who this guy is targeting in the top right, and the overview has all sorts of information about what's going on.
[SQ] If you fired your energy weapon to intercept a TITANs "Doomsday" weapon and by some luck hit it before striking its target, would it be deflected (I doubt it)? ;-D Looking at all of the tables and other items on the screen, I sometimes wonder if you really need all of them and if you do, how do you keep track of what their providing without getting information overload? ;-)
Well some grandpas talk about WWII and Vietnam. I guess them ppl have the Story for their sons "There was this Legendary battle on the system B-R5RB let me tell you how it was... so there was this guy that didnt payed his rent..."
so how long did the battle end up going for? the time in this footage that i could see started at 15:51pm and ended at 5:20am the following morning, but surely the battle started and ended before and after those times (dont click the times in this post, i was going off the start and end of the footage for comparison of times)
yea it was twenty hours and it started because of someone not paying a bill on station protection. people in Russia were depending on people from america to get off work and get on eve pretty much

Something I just noticed...
Titans are kind of like nukes.
You throw one out onto the field, then the opposition fight back with about 50 more, then you throw down even more... then other people get involved, then.. uh.. the domino effect. yeah.
I'm not exactly sure what is actually happening because I've never played this game but any 13hr battle is epic.
I believe it was actually 21hrs

AMAZING.
Why did I stop playing? oh yeah girlfriend...
Sad for you bro :(
So.....she said u couldn't play anymore? Whipped
I lost my titan during the lazar shot in the west
Fue legendaria la batalla .
No que lo digas
As someone who has never played EVE, can someone give me a quick rundown of what exactly the player we're watching is doing?
With the lag and Time Dilation (TiDi) we had on this fight, I was pretty useless. Shooting with my dreadnought when I could. (because of lag etc...)
I was there to record the fight, lock the expensives targets focused by our fleets. Show the fight as a whole.
I fought in this battle, i had a titan. I have ptsd from this
*I SWEAR OF GOD ILL NEVER WIL BE LATE FOR RENT EVER AGAIN*
My brother’s friend Felix, the leader of a merc group, saw this battle. What did he do? Stay the heck out of it!
I can’t tell what’s happening. I never played this game but I heard this battle was epic.
Started EVE online a few days ago. Got a little curious about the battles. Great vid. Great choice of music, too. Cheers!
Pause a moment and listen to "Vangelis - Alpha" with this...
I might take a visit in my covert ops frig and give my respects to this battle in person. I normally don't go to Nullsec because I'm newer than most people but I'll go and check the place out sometime next month or so.
Thats what u call a perfect example of *BUTTERFLY EFFECT*

-Es una historia larga y sangrienta.
Yo:
I was there!
You can see me in the middle of the blob. I'm the one with the salvager making MAD FUCKING BANK SON!
Cuanto tiempo duro la batalla?
Y paso a la historia...
22horas
Awesome Soundtrack, well done!!!!
Love your choice for this event.
So much loss and so much gain.
What I really want to know, is who the 8 rookies were that were shitting themselves during the middle of this battle...

What an Epic battle and such a piece of history.
is this an hour a minute?
It's more like 30min ingame for 1min in the video
Its 13 hours of only battle
Anyone else pausing the video to read the in-game chat?
13h of flooded local chat, have a good time ! xD
We did move in i knew it was going to happen but never be that big
Shout out to Magnus Gallantus at 4:12 for posting the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny Lyrics
Only problem is when a ship dies it does not make a noticeable explosion so it can be hard to pick out what it dying.
:)
+Halt Tranty this is a fairly accurate answer :D
So, this guy was in the biggest battle in gaming history? Cool.
*The only thing I don't like about this is that all of the ships are super close to each other, it would have been crazy if all of the ships were spread out more but still split into two sides.*
Because each ship there are carriers, super carriers, dreds, and titans.
Titans are 13-18km long
@@whoooshifg5830 *That still sucks though*
@@Ifarmplasma well yes,if your not into this kind of games.that's why some calls this game a spreadsheet simulator.
Great battle, thank you)
Someone should make a documentary or something like that about B-R5RB...
i was there
titan got out, aeon got out, 2 dreads and 2 carriers died
im waiting, patiently... for the day this happens in star citizen
If anyone's interested in listening to the accounts of the two main FCs involved in this:

just seeing the fact that there is nearly 3,000 people in a null sec system is amazing haha
Thank you for the music list. What awesome music! It adds the weight that is needed for an EVENT like this. Fly Safe!
God bless the fallen soldiers
@@rafamilesdediaz "Colorado pelotudo" jajajajaja.
just some questions:
1. How did you know where your ship is ? Oo
2. You can kill everything and then capture the enemys terretorie but you cant really "win" its an mmo
3. You click on a target and lock him and the press shout, you dont have to aim
+NoIINameIIDe He aims using the overview "selected item" and all the stuff you see on the left.
There's no need to see your own ship but you can zoom (which might leads to FPS crash in this situation)
When a coalition wins, she's happy and take what's left ;)
7,000+ players were involved in this. how does the server not crash?
At that time the whole game technically took place on 1 server ....I think another server was added around then
one question what hardware configuration you using to handle such a gigantic battles in decent quality? tnx in advance
3years old computer (intel 2600K + ATI radeon HD 6950 + 16 GO GSkill DDR3 @1866 + SSD for softwares & a 2To HDD 7200tr/min for Fraps RAW files + 6To RAID1 + some random HDD (3-4To) )
If you're looking the monitor window on the video, you will see I record only 3or5 fps, because of lag. But I don't care about that because it's enought with a video speed up
That's why my video is fluid X with high graphics ingame ! (The battle in this video run at 3000% (x30) )
Hope you enjoy the video :)
Arthur Vié thank you
Arthur, does the logo mean you're a goodswarm pilot?
AitoSuomiVideos This logo is the logo of the Coalition "CFC", we are now named as "Imperium" Coalition. (there is a new logo for "Imperium")
But yes, I am in Goonswarm alliance.
Long live the Goonswarm. Best thing in gaming. I don't play EVE online, but I love you guys, just plain hilarious!
+AitoSuomiVideos i dont understand a single shit of the game interface D: where is his ship? XD
And remember, all of this began, because someone forgot to pay
It's a shame that there's no videos of the actual war, seeing the ships fly and the titans explode, just views from far away, leaving the war to imagination
soo...maaaannnyy...ships....amazing this could be performed, even with ti di.
7000+players!!!
@@sillviagilgamesch8783 only around 2500 in system the rest was fighting in nearby systems
13.30h of virtual war, holy damn!
This should be the plot for a great movie...
Colin Bell Okay, thank you very miuch.
I wish I had been there at that time but was off game for a bit :( would have been amazeing to fight in a battle like that
I was dispatched to the system at time so thats also why i was there
[SQ] If you fired your energy weapon to intercept a TITANs "Doomsday" weapon and by some luck hit it before striking its target, would it be deflected (I doubt it)? ;-D
Looking at all of the tables and other items on the screen, I sometimes wonder if you really need all of them and if you do, how do you keep track of what their providing without getting information overload? ;-)
I don’t know what I’m watching but ITS A SHITTON OF PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW
I knew it was happening then i realized why are 2 coalitions closing in then i went to see and omg i was shocked the fucked out of
Are you still playing on dred/titan? Now coming new path with rebalancing null sec space
Un momento de silencio para los caidos
So who was the guy who messed up the payment
Cool this video is up again!
Well some grandpas talk about WWII and Vietnam. I guess them ppl have the Story for their sons "There was this Legendary battle on the system B-R5RB let me tell you how it was... so there was this guy that didnt payed his rent..."
Is there a pulsar in that system?
so how long did the battle end up going for? the time in this footage that i could see started at 15:51pm and ended at 5:20am the following morning, but surely the battle started and ended before and after those times
(dont click the times in this post, i was going off the start and end of the footage for comparison of times)
It was a twenty hour battle
yea it was twenty hours and it started because of someone not paying a bill on station protection. people in Russia were depending on people from america to get off work and get on eve pretty much
it was 21 hours it only ended because of them fixing the severs
