+iiperento Honestly the scale of everything in EVE is waaaay bigger than any other MMO. Part of it has to do with the fact that it's all one big server that all the players play in. I'm a long time MMO player as well and I just started playing EVE and let me tell you... this game takes it to a whole other level. I'm more of an industry guy (I don't focus on PvP combat at all really) and the economy is FASCINATING and incredibly complex.
Colin Bell From any gameplay I watch I'm left with the impression that the learning curve of this game is close to a learning curve to 3D modeling software :D
iiperento Not quite, but it's got a steep learning curve no doubt. I just started playing the game though, and I applied for EVE university (a corporation that specializes in bringing newbies into the fold) and honestly with their help I'm quickly becoming deeply immersed in the game. You pretty much have to interact with other players and get help from more experience people, but the community is fucking solid and it's so easy to find help. The game is set up in a way that if you continue playing you can quickly become an asset (or at least somewhat useful) to the corp that takes you in, so there's a lot of incentive to teach new players and help them find their niche. Either that or the community just loves bringing in new people and helping them out since it can be so daunting if you're going in solo. But yeah you won't get anywhere if you're not willing to do a lot of reading and research.
iiperento Free one month trial, and it's kind of tough to do but you can buy game time with in game currency. Although usually it's people who are a little more experienced who do that. But seriously you get a month for free without even buying the game. One of those situations where they're pretty confident you'll get hooked.
Just like nukes i guess. the first ones ended a big war, after tht it was just big power blocks stockpiling them. Just as in eve the power blocks have stockpiled so many tians. :P
The really awesome part is that in a way, everyone in the game was likely involved. I was sitting in a cormorant as a noob, mining some asteroids in hisec a month before. That ore I mined could have been used to finish the construction of one of the Titans, which could have destroyed a few capitals, which could have destroyed a few subcapitals. The entire game is based on the Butterfly Effect, skills, and isk.
Plan 1055 "Belial" They basicly slowdown the game to make the severs be able to handle it. In those battles, they can slowdown it until 10% of the speed of the game.
CCP decided to create a monument with all the titan wreaks in that system because of the scale of the battle. You can;t salvage them or interact anymore but they are there as static objects to remember the epic fight.
Alfirus I think the original wrecks are already salvaged. The monument is just there to tell you that, those wrecks used to be players and this is a players made SUPER massive battle.
there is an eve movie, three of them to be exact. the clear skies trilogy. look it up, they are amazing movies that scale it down and show the struggles that eve players experience in the early day before capital ships
The War is over now. CFC pulled the plug on its efforts in the South a few weeks after B-R5RB and redeployed to its Northern home regions. RUS block then collapsed due to the rug being pulled out from under them. N3 now controls all the Southern SOV regions (including the B-R5RB system) and the RUS block has been stomped out almost entirely from the area. In effect, they won the battle but lost the war. Good fights.
They completely won the battle, destroyed the whole fleet N3, got a lot of fun and they just didn't have to shove on, they got what they wanted and stepped back. There was no objective to push and destroy N3 sector. This is a game for fun, and many people still live a real life, you imagine)))
@@MrSarMax You don't seem to understand how eve works. There's a documentary on it, you should watch it and maybe then you will understand what he's saying.
@@MrSarMax in the long run, N3 is the winner. It's as simple as they lost the fight but won the war. Having fun is objective and isn't really the point being brought up here. Longevity is crucial in games like this and sure win a fight is fun but once you lose control of regions to that same foe it's not so fun anymore... It's a push and pull battle that simulates actual real life political and regional wars.
soso girl ALL GAMES (not professional) is ONLY ABOUT FUN! =)) You take a game, that means nothing to the real world too seriously. Are you mad? Its only fucking game for take a some fun. WHY SO SERIOUS? :D
The fact that the wrecked ships are still drifting there in-game is damned cool. It makes it kinda haunting. Imagine jumping into that system, not knowing about this fight, and the first thing you see is a ship graveyard. That's damned cool. It adds history and weight to the world that you just can't get if things de-spawn after a period of time...
Over the years, the developers of the game have added monuments to battles, historic events, even individual players who have carved out names for themselves in universe. One player became famous for being the one everyone could trust in a game where you expect to be stabbed in the back by everyone at any second. HUGE quantities of in game currency flowed through his accounts as a broker for super capital warship trades. There's a statue (massive) to him in one of the systems. Every now and then he visits. The game is very very much player driven. These battles happen because of actual politics that evolve between player run corporations and alliances. Everything bought or sold in game from ammo to the largest ships are player made from raw materials recovered by players, etc. The scope of this game is unbelievable. And it is 1 game server. Everyone who plays EVE is playing together in 1 single instance of the game. They destroy a huge number of Titans and suddenly, 50 systems away where I'm mining ore, I see prices jump and switch what I'm mining to take advantage of the demand for x mineral. It's just so cool.
Imagine if the place is haunted? Well technically, the place can't be haunted, since the men who lost their lives were actually clones, and they already are reborn in their corp bases now. Only the ship debris are there so yeah no ghosts to find, lol
I remember logging on while the battle raging,& everyone was talking about it in game all trying to get real time news on who was winning.I remember there so many people, who weren't part of either Corp coalition, just trying to get into the system to watch it first hand only to die or lag out. Jita was going fucking crazy during those first few hours. Once word got out of how large the battle was becoming alot of the market people were trying to determine when it best to sell or buy as the battle was raging. They were trying to take full advantage of the outcome of the battle to their advantage. I also heard after the battle that some corps had mobilized their own fleets just in case something were too happen and they had to get involved. The whole sandbox theory about EVE definitely held true that day.
"I also heard after the battle that some corps had mobilized their own fleets just in case something were too happen and they had to get involved." For some reason, this sentence gives me goosebumps. Being part of something so big and incredible, that's EVE! That's why I play it.
@@vividdylan400 For me, I was hone sick that day and just kinda existing when a friend told me "Now is the time to get on Eve." I got into my Tengu and we formed our fleet of about 30 ships around a local moon and......sat there. We were part of a Mercenary Alliance, and I think the alliance commander was trying to get the highest bid from either side to go to war for them. We never got the green light to go, so for me B-R was spent from afar, behind a screen.
Some people laugh at EVE players for "wasting" years of their time to become a master of this game and command the biggest and best ships. I personally congratulate them. They took part in the biggest space battle that will probably take place in my lifetime, so I have to give them that.
Are you THAT old? You seriously think there won't be bigger and better events than this in the future? (like in less than 10 years... specially because Star Citizen is coming..and it promises so much!)
Chinoman10 With this many players? This many ships? Fighting in one place for a single goal? I don't think so. I'm only 19, so I'll be anticipating that battle if it ever happens.
***** Star Citizen will be like EVE Online when it first came out. So, perhaps after 10 years it'll have accomplished wonders. For when it releases, well, easy to imagine what it'll be given the common state of games released nowadays.... perhaps in a few years of maturing, I'll check it out, but there's no way I could expect from it what's possible and happens already in EVE.
Where were you when Titanomachy happened? I'm proud to say, "I was there". Over 7000 participating players, 75 Titans lost to the ages, 370 Dreadnaughts crushed under withering fire, 13 Super-Carriers turned into dust, 117 Carriers blasted to bits, and over 3000 smaller ships in the course of 21 hours of non-stop conflict, costing over 11 Trillion ISK. How many MMO's in the world could boast numbers like that? How many people can take part in massive conflicts that determine the rise and fall of empires in video games with thousands of players, where every single other warrior on the field is a living breathing person making tactical decisions? Coordinating with other tactical decisions? That turn into a massive strategy? That turns into a resounding victory or a crushing defeat? That is why: I. Love. This. Game.
My thoughts exactly. There is nothing like it, nothing that comes close. ISK I had spent on something may have helped someone buy a battleship they used to grind they credits they need to buy the modules they desired that kept them alive long enough to finish off a super cap in that battle. The consequences in this game are far more magnified than they are even in real life, where a stone thrown won't make a ripple, but a tsunami. The thousands of battles like this and these videos make me wonder how any shitty games like WOT/WOW can survive in competition truly dominated by the game play and ripple effect of EVE
MisterLEM0NS EVE is a sandbox, those others are Theme-park games. Yes they are MMOG's but they have been designed differently for a different demographic, the things that make EVE great for some are the same things that make it "boring" and "stupid" for others. That doesn't make one "better" or "worse" than the other, you're comparing Apples and Oranges.
MisterLEM0NS it's because games like those are more focused on the combat itself. the feeling of outwitting your opponent based on your skill and skill alone is an achievement in its own right. that and WOT is just log on and fight. same with almost every other big game out there.
As a small fighter pilot in the middle of the fight, it truly gives you too much pressure cause mass destruction weapons, specially the doomsday are being fired everywhere. Luckily, I survived. But we lost B-R. So sad...
Elver Sanay Ah, so a skilled pilot of a tiny ship can beat a small ship, which can beat a medium ship, which can beat a large ship, which can beat a huge ship?
iv been in goonswarm for 6 years and this was probably the most memorable battle iv had i was in a dreadnought the entire battle and somehow survived iv been in cap fights before but not on that kind of fight. it wasnt until a month or two after that battle i realized how crazy and historical in the games history it was and i decided to retire that same moros i had, it was my first capital ship and it fought in a really historic battle and because of that i keep that ship locked away in some station never to be used battle again iv since lost like 3 dreads since lol
How many real player where there do you think ? I Mean many people play with multiple accounts, so is it possible that in those big battles most player play more than one char ?
I am the Fleet Commander who started the battle of B-R on the side of N3. I am a 10 year veteran of Eve Online. I love this game and the community both of which are truly unique and amazing. Eve is a game that challenges you at all times and nothing is easy but the reward always feels worth. There is no other game in any genre that can deliver the experience that Eve does. To those on the sidelines wondering if Eve is for them I say it is. Eve has something for everyone even if you don't like PVP you can still do so many things in the game that make giant impacts without ever firing a weapon. So please come join our community and become part of the most epic MMO ever created.
iwikeu i tried eve after earth and beyond shutdown back in 2002 but i just couldn’t get into it. It was visually amazing back then and had a great soundtrack but was also very overwhelming... which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but get ready to invest a lot of time.
BobbaDons Ah i see, the game was just very time consuming. I was introduced to Eve because I was a Dust 514 player, so I’ve been a little curious on trying it.

I love it when CCP memorialises stuff like this. I gave them huge props back in the day when they made the first titan ever lost a permanent wreck in space. I think it's so cool that these super huge battles are allowed to leave their mark on the game world.
Thats what I thought but the complexity of playing EVE is way over exaggerated tbh. I finally started playing and it took about a week to get all of the basics down; of course, it is almost impossible to learn everything about the game but that is because there is so much to do in the sandbox but if you have a focus on, say, PvP and null sec warfare you get a grip on what to do rather quickly and then it is fun to always learn something new but it's not like you need to study for a year to function in the game and have fun. TRY IT.
Cristoph Willenbacher "the complexity of playing EVE is way over exaggerated tbh" "it took about a week to get all of the basics down" Sounds sort of contradictory if you ask me.
I was there in my Revelation dreadnought. Fought for 20 hours till 2 in the morning. I had to goto sleep for work the next day. Logged my dread out in system hoping to jump him out the next day. Crazy battle! The time dialation sucks, but better than the sever crashing.
I didn't realize "Eve Online" was this deep. Massive amounts of real world money was in play here. This is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen in the video game world
Roy Batty: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like ... tears in rain. Time to die."
Just there being war and politics and massive fleets and armies waging wars in the stars just makes the game 100 times more interesting and fascinating
I help a lot of new players and I always tell them the same thing. It is only a bit time consuming to learn. Once you get the hang of things it is arguably one of the least time consuming MMOs out there.
+Shurik Ozerov from what i understand to do interesting things you must get online daily, and for about a few hours, maybe i´m wrong but it´s like any MMO in that regard, and I can´t spend so much time on any type of video game, that´s why I play arena type games where i can log in for an hour daily or even never get on it for a week and i don´t lose anything.
Amatheon Hardly. I only log on once every few days when a corp mate (clan mate) pings me to let me know a particular target of opportunity has shown itself, though I will admit this one does have an unpredictable time bracket. Most times I can jump on randomly, get some trading or exploration or bounty hunting done within a reasonably predictable time frame, even in matters of 15 to 30 minutes if need be. Beyond that, character progression (the equivilent to leveling) is actually passive, even when offline, so just because you haven't had time the past week doesnt mean you really "fell behind" - hence why this is arguably the most schedule friend of the MMOs. Secondary progression, better known as your wallet also can be accrued passively with certain professions, including one that is essentially a bad version of Farmville, but that's against the point. EDIT: I only log on once every couple days because of certain ingame and real life stipulations. It's a sandbox so there is always something to do if you can convince yourself to go do it.
I hear alot of people say Star Citizen will blow Eve away. Truth is that SC is just another themepark with no real substance. You buy your ship and fly it but can you claim systems ? can you conquer systems ? can you build ships ? does it have an economy so complex like Eve Online ? For this reason alone Eve Online will remain the undisputed king of kings in my book. And with CCP Seagul having a vision and follow her hearth we believe.....Eve Online will be better with each and every patch. 07 Fly Reckles
SC and EvE have significant differences. In EvE you have much greater power (military and economic) than in SC, where the power is mostly held by NPC factions (mostly UEE). You can't claim or conquer systems in SC and you can probably only buy or steal ships. On the Economy side, I wouldn't be so sure. There are/were plans for a very detailed economy (e.g. a factory needs ore to produce something. This ore must come from a refinery. The refinery can get unrefined ore from players or NPCs who mined it. The goods that the factory produces must then be delivered to a trading hub. If only one of these components fails, the whole economy will be impacted by it.). I don't know what they will do in the end though. Only time will tell.
The coolest part of the battle is that fact that both sides received massive reinforcement when the sun rose over the North American continent. Truly an awesome concept for all gamers to behold, even if we don't play the game. I kind of wish they would record automatically once a large battle begins. Say when TiDi begins the area with the most traffic starts saving the battle into secondary storage so once it is complete people can view the battle in real time. As if the battle is kind of the rendering stage. You can go back and view these battles on your game as a spectator.
What’s crazy to me is this was like virtual WW1 in space with city sized spaceships. Vast amounts of gamers mobilized at once, to a small area and it started over nothing.
@Houston Helicopter Tours Inc. Wow, you're so manly it makes me curl up and die, oh, I just realized that you must've scrolled all the way through all of these comments just so you could try and make someone feel bad. Ok um .. I dont have PC :( .... i just started today with EVE echoes mobile... It's so confusing :'( 30 hops is alot .. Lol... I've decided to be a miner but i think i i cant get paid immediately for the ores that i sell .. I always lose money when selling them :/ not sure why but ill keep mining and selling and hopefully some prophet comes back... I have a good mining ship and mining guns and trade skills. I just think maybe the station that i sell at is not populated. I will move to a more populated station i think. But they may be a more less secure area and ive left my battle ship in another station so far away so im stuck with industrial for now :/ suck at this game but I'll keep pushing through the learning curve. Unfortunately nobody seems to be of any help on the chat :/ i will teach myself lol
from the viewpoint of 99.99% of the players there: target broadcast, press 1 target broadcast, press 1 target broadcast, press 1 target broadcast, press 1
I've never understood why players confuse Call of Duty with EVE. If you want a game that's all about how fast you can move a dot in the middle of your screen, go with COD. People play EVE because it requires critical thought, coordination, and planning - There are tons of other games if all ya wanna do is repetitious thoughtless input.
This is why EVE Online will truely be one of the best MMO's ever made. People may not like the RTS style of EVE Online, but you must admit. The achievements in this game and battles are insane. I remember battles happening like this in Battlestar: Galactica.
I dont think people understand the crazy amount of planning and communication that went down during this battle. I cant even imagine what the fleet commanders sounded like during this battle.
Never played the game. Well, I'm installing it now, but this. This got me into the game. The fact that a huge battle could take place on a computer. This isn't League. This isn't Clash of Clans. This isn't Total War. This. Is. Eve.
I never knew about EVE online until recently so i dont know much about it, and im really late to this, but this, it blows my mind. I never thought something like this will happen. Maybe this can be adapted to a movie, and i think that would be great
big battles like this happen every year. it's never too late to join the party and even if you could only fly the smallestship you can be a nuance to the capital sized ships
I guess a battle of this scales in star citizen will happen in a bigger region, considering the convenience of jump engine, and enterable planets after 3.0, so yeah
i think a battle of this scale would be utterly impossible in star citizen. In battles of this size the eve servers run at about one tick every 10s. In a game like starcitizen that simulates ships a lot more detailed a battle of this size would crash every server the world has to offer and even if you managed to run it at the same speed ie one tick every 10s it would feel horrible.
I'm a PC gamer for, I don't know, 30 years now, but I've never seen in my life anything on this scale and depth on a MMO. I was never into the genre, but this thing is really impressive!
I don't personally play the game, But when Salvaging is a mechanic, The mass of wrecks would only disappear after someone went out to salvage the stuff. So Yeah, You could literally head out there and fly through the Ship graveyard
Normally, wrecks disappear after a certain amount of time. The developer of EVE Online, CCP Games, decided to put a "monument" as you say where these wrecks remain in space. It's a way to remember this giant battle that took place. (None of these monument wrecks are salvageable.)
That is truely amazing. I gotta commend a /salute Eve's players and the people who brought that event together. Just wow! I barely played Eve, but as someone who has played in MMO's especially player vs players, this is jaw dropping. I commend the community, and Eve's developers for making a comic acknowledging this. You guys rock
It's the insane scale of the politics between the alliances that fascinate me. Since it is all real people making real decisions amazing things can and do happen.
Are there any corporations or private individuals salvaging parts from the destroyed hulls floating silently in the dark, unforgiving isolation of SPACE??
All of that was salvaged long ago. You can't mess with the remains now. They are permanent. To salvage it would mean making it disappear and leaving nothing
Anodyne Melody You can, but it's *extremely* risky. I've heard the CFC-RUS have set up regular patrols AND have hired Mercs to take out anyone even remotely suspected of salvaging.
This game is an amazing social experiment. It’s like watching Dune or other great sci-fi franchises, but observing the actual plotting, scheming and politics, but completely unpredictable.
im interested in eve, but im afraid of paying a monthly fee for a game that is so complex. It would be a no-brainer if it was buy to play, but this way hmmmm....
+Archangel1991 If you're smart or sneak or good. You can easily earn enough in game in a few days to pay for a 30 day game time extension known as a PLEX.
+Archangel1991 But the xpansions are all free. So. And buy to play games nickle and dime you to death with their cash shops and expansions. I prefer sub based games over buy to play and free to play any second of the day.

Least he can do is give you some of the isk, and 250 million will last a new player a couple months if they don't do really stupid shit.
***** TheMenIdo Heh well the videos aren't meant to really be this epic displays of skill or anything. Nor are they meant to be educational. I been around for 5.5 years and I know my shit for the most part. If you wanna know more about PVP specifically I recommend actually going out and doing it, which is why every "PVP School" out there is very hands on. Theory only goes so far and I'll admit I lack in real practice :P home | xercodo The mail I got from CCP here is legit, my name is known within the CCP offices, and I'm considered an "EVE celebrity" by some (though I would have considered the one that gave me that label a celebrity herself, go figure). I;d certainly like to benefit from the buddy invite, but half the time they may not even sub anyway. Hell more than half of the guys I make this offer to will take the invite and never actually contact me for questions let alone for any ISK. Also up front doesn't work because if he uses a PLEX I can't pick a PLEX as a reward (to prevent abuse of the system to use the same PLEX over and over on trial accounts). So if he wants any ISK as a result of my selling a PLEX he has to use some real money to start with.

this was the EVE we loved, the nullsec that was bloody worth every second beeing there. sad what EVE has become to attract more and more casual players. can i have those times back pls?
I wish i could get into this game... I really do. But all I can really do is wait for star citizen. Kudos to both, but I'm a guy who loves his individual combat. This is obviously one of the biggest game events ever, but the fun in this game PVP wise is fleet manuevers and large battles. fighting seems like a point and click adventure
It's a bit more complex than that. While the interaction from the player is that simple the mechanic at play make it way more complex. Range and angular velocity plays a role in how well guns can hit things so positioning yourself is important. Besides that you have to keep an eye on your capacitor to make sure it doesnt get drained too low, if you run out your armor hardeners and guns can get shut off. Then there's overheating. Usually if a FC (Fleet Commander) needs a high value target dead yesterday they'll call the fleet to overheat their weapons to push them harder and kill it sooner. This will damage the weapons and other modules fitted near the weapons (the heat damage bleeds over) so you gotta make sure you dont burn them out. Finally there's electronic warfare, such a tracking disruption, sensor dampening, webbing to slow down a target's speed, and ECM to jam targeting, oh and the big bubbles there prevent warping within their radius. In the HUGE fights like this it;s mostly get in range and fire, there's too many targets to worry about yourself getting shot. In 20 vs 20 fleets things get REALLY hectic though cause stuff moves faster, figuratively and literally :P

I'm not playing this game, but I played enough mmos to understand the scale of battle. This is something seriously enormous right there.
Colin Bell Sadly im poor to play it, dang it
iiperento Free one month trial, and it's kind of tough to do but you can buy game time with in game currency. Although usually it's people who are a little more experienced who do that.
But seriously you get a month for free without even buying the game. One of those situations where they're pretty confident you'll get hooked.

that's cause of a time dilation or something like that stuff CCP done to avoid lags)
Plan 1055 "Belial"
They basicly slowdown the game to make the severs be able to handle it.
In those battles, they can slowdown it until 10% of the speed of the game.
Plan 1055 "Belial" TiDi doesn't change the fact you have to render 3000 ships though. Still need a decent graphics card for that.
Xercodo EVE players don't play games on potatoes, we use real PC's. A good amount of EVE players run multiple accounts at once on multi-screen setups.
mike g I am aware, more to respond to Plan 1055 "Belial" because he didn't understand what TiDi's purpose is.
Wait .. the debris stays out there forever? That's kinda cool.
CCP decided to create a monument with all the titan wreaks in that system because of the scale of the battle. You can;t salvage them or interact anymore but they are there as static objects to remember the epic fight.
Ishla Corrin it's still awesome thou. and here, im still in the starter region, still trying to get to my corps homebase (about 30jumps away) xD
*Kessler Syndrome intensifies*
Ishla Corrin really can't be salvage?
Alfirus
I think the original wrecks are already salvaged. The monument is just there to tell you that, those wrecks used to be players and this is a players made SUPER massive battle.
Jeez... I don't even play EVE online but this shit sounds epic, it could be a fucking movie!
there is an eve movie, three of them to be exact. the clear skies trilogy. look it up, they are amazing movies that scale it down and show the struggles that eve players experience in the early day before capital ships
I can easily see this being made into a movie
It won't be long now. Few more years unless some more epic event happens.
M-OEE8 one month after this comment lol.
mo was a joke honestly
LOL was thinking the same thing.
With a budget of 1 billion dollars sure.
So basically they curbstomped everything and then their moms called for borsht?
@@MrSarMax You don't seem to understand how eve works. There's a documentary on it, you should watch it and maybe then you will understand what he's saying.
@@MrSarMax in the long run, N3 is the winner. It's as simple as they lost the fight but won the war. Having fun is objective and isn't really the point being brought up here. Longevity is crucial in games like this and sure win a fight is fun but once you lose control of regions to that same foe it's not so fun anymore... It's a push and pull battle that simulates actual real life political and regional wars.
soso girl
ALL GAMES (not professional) is ONLY ABOUT FUN!
The monument itself is not that big.
@@M1551NGN0 unless clones can have ghosts too. Then you got a whole pile of trouble.
@@mycroft16 who prints the isk? hmmm....
"I also heard after the battle that some corps had mobilized their own fleets just in case something were too happen and they had to get involved."
For some reason, this sentence gives me goosebumps. Being part of something so big and incredible, that's EVE! That's why I play it.
What an incredibly story. I'd like to hear or read more of such accounts of "eye-witnesses."
@@o3941 Wow it sounds so cool! Which side was bigger?
***** Star Citizen can suck my left nut. Eve Valkyrie is where it will be at! :)
***** Hahahaha, that's cute, but no.
I wasn't there, but I bet some of the minerals I mined were turned in to ships that were.
MisterLEM0NS it's because games like those are more focused on the combat itself. the feeling of outwitting your opponent based on your skill and skill alone is an achievement in its own right. that and WOT is just log on and fight. same with almost every other big game out there.
The only other MMO I now of that can come close to something like that is WoW or Guild Wars 2- but even then EVE leaves these two in the dust
As a small fighter pilot in the middle of the fight, it truly gives you too much pressure cause mass destruction weapons, specially the doomsday are being fired everywhere. Luckily, I survived. But we lost B-R. So sad...
What does a fighter pilot even do in a fight amongst godlike vessels?
Actually, we fight smaller adversaries. As things get too hot, we hardly can do anything but watch the titanic clash.
Elver Sanay
Ah, so a skilled pilot of a tiny ship can beat a small ship, which can beat a medium ship, which can beat a large ship, which can beat a huge ship?
accursedCursive depends on how many we are.

I've never actually seen a video of fighter combat in EVE.
Any videos of that you really like?
iv been in goonswarm for 6 years and this was probably the most memorable battle iv had i was in a dreadnought the entire battle and somehow survived iv been in cap fights before but not on that kind of fight. it wasnt until a month or two after that battle i realized how crazy and historical in the games history it was and i decided to retire that same moros i had, it was my first capital ship and it fought in a really historic battle and because of that i keep that ship locked away in some station never to be used battle again iv since lost like 3 dreads since lol
How many real player where there do you think ? I Mean many people play with multiple accounts, so is it possible that in those big battles most player play more than one char ?
probably not that many as you would have to be constantly changing windows to make sure your other characters stay alive
I've heard the battle was so heavy, most players had to set their settings to the absolute minium to avoid crashing.
Multiboxing is often for support characters, like a Cyno alt (drops beacons for portals) scout, jump freighter pilot or titan sitter.

This game is reeeeally cool, but it requires so goddamn much time to even barely understand how to play this game.
Eve isn't so much a game as a way of life.
So much stuff to learn.
TRY IT.

"the complexity of playing EVE is way over exaggerated tbh"

Sounds sort of contradictory if you ask me.
Ive been playing eve for many years now and I'll have to agree with you. There's alot to learn.

I was there in my Revelation dreadnought. Fought for 20 hours till 2 in the morning. I had to goto sleep for work the next day. Logged my dread out in system hoping to jump him out the next day. Crazy battle! The time dialation sucks, but better than the sever crashing.

Just there being war and politics and massive fleets and armies waging wars in the stars just makes the game 100 times more interesting and fascinating
Few can measure the industrial effort leading to these fights. Only EvE can provide this depth in a game; which causes the loss of kg's of grey-hair.
This is soooo incredible, the fact that you can even go back to the still floating remnants of the battle is a feat for the any game
It's like a real star wars battle.
+Garrett Stark .....Or a smaller Warhammer 40k battle

man i would love to play this game, but hell too much time consuming, but awesome still, makes me dream :)
+Shurik Ozerov All right i see, well maybe one day i´ll give it a go, but for now, i enjoy just looking at trailers and cinematical battles :)
Amatheon Glad to hear it! Just be sure to reach out and ask for help when you do. That makes all the difference!

Just like eve was
The coolest part of the battle is that fact that both sides received massive reinforcement when the sun rose over the North American continent.
I was there.... were you?
Thanfully, I was not. Phew. =]
I was there for a few minutes thx to time dilation :P

I've never understood why players confuse Call of Duty with EVE. If you want a game that's all about how fast you can move a dot in the middle of your screen, go with COD. People play EVE because it requires critical thought, coordination, and planning - There are tons of other games if all ya wanna do is repetitious thoughtless input.
Gamesta Entertainment dude .... it's 3 years old
i don't think you are getting an answer
+Lotuscat:3 LOL
LOL
cos 99.99% of massive fleet fights required exactly that..
This. Is. Eve.
This event has its own page in wikipedia...
Nothing like a videogame having battles comparable to real life ones
Imagine having a group of friends and just yelling "ENEMIES TO THE LEFT"
"ENEMIES INBOUND 3 O CLOCK"
dam it would be awesome
And to think, this is what got me into Eve: Online
I never knew about EVE online until recently so i dont know much about it, and im really late to this, but this, it blows my mind. I never thought something like this will happen.
Maybe this can be adapted to a movie, and i think that would be great
big battles like this happen every year. it's never too late to join the party and even if you could only fly the smallestship you can be a nuance to the capital sized ships
Eve online wars: 5hrs+ of fleet and Titan engagement
Eve echoes wars: black screens go brrrr even without capital ships
Star Wars doesn't hold a candle to this. I hope we can see more epic fights like this in Eve someday.
It was an honor to die in such a glorious battle!
Sometimes I wonder how this battle would look like if the servers were powerful enough to not require time dilation at all...what a sight it'd be.
Visited B-R5RB today and the ship wrecks are still there for everyone to see!
yes you can loot those debris to create titans!!!
When a game takes "Forge your own stories" too seriously.
1 bullet sparked off the Great War here on Earth. 1 missed payment sparked the Bloodbath of B-R5RB.
imagine a Star Citizen battle of this scale
I guess a battle of this scales in star citizen will happen in a bigger region, considering the convenience of jump engine, and enterable planets after 3.0, so yeah
***** what you said
I'm waiting for a Star Citizen battle period. That game has been taking forever...
i think a battle of this scale would be utterly impossible in star citizen. In battles of this size the eve servers run at about one tick every 10s. In a game like starcitizen that simulates ships a lot more detailed a battle of this size would crash every server the world has to offer and even if you managed to run it at the same speed ie one tick every 10s it would feel horrible.
Star Citizen? LMAO. That thing is never going to be released.
*HAHAHAHA*
I'm a PC gamer for, I don't know, 30 years now, but I've never seen in my life anything on this scale and depth on a MMO. I was never into the genre, but this thing is really impressive!
wait wait, you can actually fly there and look at all the wrecks? Don´t they disappear?
I don't personally play the game, But when Salvaging is a mechanic, The mass of wrecks would only disappear after someone went out to salvage the stuff. So Yeah, You could literally head out there and fly through the Ship graveyard
They disappeared after 2 hours
Normally, wrecks disappear after a certain amount of time. The developer of EVE Online, CCP Games, decided to put a "monument" as you say where these wrecks remain in space. It's a way to remember this giant battle that took place. (None of these monument wrecks are salvageable.)
No. The remaining wrecks are set to permanent and can't be salvaged. It's kind of a monument
The wrecks in B-R were made permanent by CCP, although I think it's only the titans. been a while since I went out there
I'm actually honoured to be flying with some of the ex goons warm members who were at the battle.
Proud to say, I was there in my Revelation Dreadnought with my fellow goons. It's something I'll never forget.
Rlly?
That is truely amazing. I gotta commend a /salute Eve's players and the people who brought that event together. Just wow! It feels like it was all pre planned but it wasn't. Truly amazing. This is a game where you write your own story.
If I played EVE I would be the salvager who goes in after a battle to grab what I can.
yeah, especially cause it would take you forever to even get close to doing any damage to all those ships. lol
Anodyne Melody *gets smart bombed*
Anodyne Melody You can, but it's *extremely* risky. I've heard the CFC-RUS have set up regular patrols AND have hired Mercs to take out anyone even remotely suspected of salvaging.
This game is an amazing social experiment. It’s like watching Dune or other great sci-fi franchises, but observing the actual plotting, scheming and politics, but completely unpredictable.
im interested in eve, but im afraid of paying a monthly fee for a game that is so complex. It would be a no-brainer if it was buy to play, but this way hmmmm....
+Archangel1991 actually its buy and play because after certain level u can get the money for ur month from ingame easy

+Archangel1991 But the xpansions are all free. So. And buy to play games nickle and dime you to death with their cash shops and expansions. I prefer sub based games over buy to play and free to play any second of the day.

If you have ever played Eve Online, it is hard to appreciate the resources, time and complexity to build a single titan.
..... Maybe I should get into this game.
M8 its only paid per month for the high end ships the capital shipa
You can play the game for free if you use frigates cruisers and small miners

love the commentary, this is why i love eve online. The accounting of lost ships is just so accurate.
i want to play this game, but i heard its insane hard to learn :(
Just poke me with a mail in-game once you get started and I can help ya along :D And here's a 21-day trial too. secure.eveonline.com/trial/?invc=37c46c1b-f4fc-4680-ba67-b004df90d183&action=buddy
I go by the same name as here and am admin in a community help chat channel where you can find other newbs like yourself to hang out with. We also have been trying to sponsor mining ops on the weekends (though we missed this past weekend due a bunch of RL stuff >.>)
i gotta go, next thing tomorrow i will download the game and add you, thanks alot man you are awesome.
TheMenIdo IF you do end up a paying customer by signing up through his link, ask him for around 250 million isk (eve's gold). Because by signing up through his buddy link if/when you become a paying customer he'll get an in-game item called PLEX which he can sell for around 700 million isk atm. Least he can do is give you some of the isk, and 250 million will last a new player a couple months if they don't do really stupid shit.
QuietDuplicity TheMenIdo I make no promises tho :P
But all the stuff I have to offer as far as knowledge is invaluable anyway :D
***** TheMenIdo Heh well the videos aren't meant to really be this epic displays of skill or anything. Nor are they meant to be educational. I been around for 5.5 years and I know my shit for the most part. If you wanna know more about PVP specifically I recommend actually going out and doing it, which is why every "PVP School" out there is very hands on. Theory only goes so far and I'll admit I lack in real practice :P

The mail I got from CCP here is legit, my name is known within the CCP offices, and I'm considered an "EVE celebrity" by some (though I would have considered the one that gave me that label a celebrity herself, go figure).
The best thing I have witnessed in gaming history....
Now I'm not an Eve fan/player, but this is pretty fucking cool.
I dont play eve online since its not my type of space games
But man, the scale of some battles is something no game can compete
Largest battle in history of games! \0/
This is one of the coolest things I ever saw on Internet.
Best game in the world.
Okay now I want to go and see that. I wonder how many jumps it is from Pasha
75 titans destroyed but only 13 super carriers?
+Derfoklishe if you can fly a titan, you got a titan.
a lot of super carriers can fly titans but don't have the money and man power to get one.
There were 2x the ammount of supercarriers on grid there than titans, but Titans are more dangerous so they are shot first, that's why there are more dead titans than dead supercarriers:)
Holy shit. They should make it into a movie. Now this people who fought in this historic battle are really true GAMERS I applaud to them with a lot of respect.
So everyone is on one server!??? No instancing???
Yup. Everyone on one server, fighting for resources and territory
So what happen to the guy who forgot to pay the rent ?
0:56 apparently the Zathura movie and EVE online take place in the same universe
Uhm..so debris of destroyed ships drift in the game, continuesly?? o.0' 3:09
yes technically its just so cool we can see a historical gaming location that happend almost 9 years ago
@@emersongeorge2863 Could you post some videos, showing the 'space graveyard' of destroyed capital ships and fighters, etc, the results of titanic battles...?
Only a few selected wreaks otherwise they disappear after two hours
Can't get enough of this game.
its always an unpaid sovereignty bill or a misclick. Cant it be something epic for once
The cause isn't what's epic, the resulting battle is.
Elijah Ramer but sometimes it is an epic journey of revenge

Big things, have small beginnings
godofawesum223 Big things "ABSOLUTELY" have small beginnings.
The devs must be fucking proud of their game... and they really should
I was there sooooo much lag
Somebody could make this a movie. It would be cheaper to make than the actual battle
About Star Citizen: No epic battles that will blow away eve, no epic anything, really.
Here's why: Drop-in Drop-out mechanic, moddable servers hosted by players, and they're a rookie company trying to make a giant space-sim MMO/RPG thingy with 2 million dollars.
minicrafter mini eh two million? robertsspaceindustries.com/funding-goals i think they have a little bit more than that ...
I may or may not have just looked at the Kickstarter page, but still, that's A LOT of stretch goals, so it's still pretty shaky. But if they really give what they promise, I'll definitely buy it.
Star Citizen got 64 million dollars not 2
Umm. We're at 200+ million now and going strong.
this was the EVE we loved, the nullsec that was bloody worth every second beeing there.
sad what EVE has become to attract more and more casual players.
can i have those times back pls?
*vietnam flashbacks
