Never did like the FDD sounds. I had a 5 1/4 " PC drive at work that sounded like I was using a blender with rock in it, so the Amiga drive not the worst.
I think maybe your case doesn't fit because the metal tabs on the bottom RF shield are sticking up. You need to fold down the ones underneath the floppy drive or it might not sit right.
Isn't 800x436 wrong though? That gives you a 1.834 aspect ratio, which is incorrect for a 4:3 monitor. Shouldn't that be 800x600? 800x600 will give you a 1.33 aspect ratio, which is perfect 4:3.
That was my first reaction as well. My first graphics card was hooked up to an Apple 21" fixed resolution-fixedrefresh rate CRT and a Merlin II graphics card - have done to much match on resolutions and h/v sync that I would admit :D
I know yours is the Dell 2001FP, but do you know if adjacent era dell models perform similarly? Locally, there's a place selling a 1905FP and a 2005FPW. Frequency specs look similar to the 2001FP. The 1905 is resolution is only 1280x1024 and 30-81khz (2001 is 30-81khz). The 2005FPW is widescreen 1680x1050 and 30-81khz. When you say the 2001FP works will all the Amiga modes, do you mean it will sync to 15khz screenmodes? Or are you using scan-doubled Amiga modes?
I watched Doug Mr. 10Marc walk through setting one of these up, and all the when in amiga mode x, use settings y. It made sense but just way too complicated for me to ever remember.
The video fills the screen perfectly, so the pixels are just tall on the 5x4. Is the mk3 thingy even aware of any other frame aspect ratios? Perhaps running one of the PAL modes might round off your balls. >:)
I love the way the escom case doesn't yellow 🟡. Mine doesn't. Recently bought one off eBay for a decent price, just had the motherboard back from being polymer recapped yay! 🎉😁😁
@HoldandModify I don't know if it's just me but the sound sounds a lot clearer on this escom board to the original one I had years ago? Probably no difference.
@ Might quality of caps and opamp used, etc. Or whatever that technobabble is that guys like Dr.Chris know, unlike me. :) After having both of mine recapped, they sound similar to me.
Wouldn't be an Amiga drive without the clicking noise. 🙂
The click is awesome. The squealing not so much. :)
The caramel goodies look like they'd fit in the floppy bay.
they....did

ohhhh I did not notice! Thank you.

probably. in part it's why I made the video to see who might have ideas. So it's working. Thank you to you and others!
@@HoldandModify Is it working? Really? Well, I am glad I could be of some help then. Really happy for you mate! 🙂

why do u have 3.2.1 rom and a 3.2.2 in at same time
Waiting for someone to catch that. The stickers were simply miss printed. :) It's 3.2.2 (actually 3.2.2.1)

No clue, but Dr Chris has a 16:9 Dell from this era or slightly newer and it works.

Yes even with his direct help it's rather confusing
Tunnocks caramel wafers are brilliant. Their caramel logs are even better.
tunnocks caramels, GET IN!!!!
They lasted minutes.

I need to get off my
butt and swap the bottom half of the case
