John Wayne He left an important cinematographic legacy, great actor and a long career of successes in many genres. Thank you for uploading and recommending it
Loved this little film and in color, too so you get to see Wayne's blue eyes! Had some FINE horse-mounts and stunts by the Duke (at least, some of them)! Plus, the good guy (Wayne) gets the girl! My kind of Western! 💞
When we were kids my father & uncle used to watch many cowboy films often where John Wayne starred in they sure were so jumpy thanks for uploading it !!!😮😅😊
Thanks for posting. This version beats some of the fuzzy B&W versions. 00:21:24 This house appears in a couple of other John Wayne movies and how many more movies? 00:40:21 The sheriff goes into the bar and starts a fight. One of the participants runs out the door and does an awesome jump to mount a horse for the get-a-away ride, gets side by side with J. Wayne, and changes horses when his horse is thrown / shot. The riders were paid for the stunts and they knew what they were getting into then they mounted the stunt horses. The horses were saddled and had no choice. The stunt horses obeyed their riders and sometimes had a 50/50 chance of getting up. The riders and their stunt horses deserve a toast and round of applause.
This is the guy who played the leader of the outlaws he did a lot to prevent the injury of stuntmen and horses in movies truly a great man en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakima_Canutt
@@lambastepirate Thanks for the link. Took time to look him up - this guy was amazing. Many years ago, I met an old cowboy in western Washington state and he had some stories from the mid to late 30's. He did some wrangling, riding, and some horse falls in some 30's b-westerns. He had an old saddle, cinch with a figure 8 ring and leg hobbles in a display case and this was what he used to rig a horse with a running-w to throw it. He said that he got an extra 5 dollars or so to throw horses with trip wires. Yes, this was hard on some horses and did kill a few and break some legs. There was no inurance, and id they were hurt, they were on their own. Some of the stunts were quickly put together and sometimes went wrong. Again. Thanks for the link.
No, that's Yakima Canutt, pretty much the '30s KING of stunt men. "Indiana Jones" whip-drag under the German truck in "Raiders" was a homage to Mr. Canutt.
Lucky they were armed with 47 shooters back then, eh?....and putting that reed in his mouth, even if it was hollow to put it in your mouth underwater it would have been full of water and he would have drowned himself🤣🤣🤣🤣 and I'm only a few minutes in?? can it get any funnier? These old movies were comically stupid but if you can ignore silly mistakes(and most people can cos they don't pay attention) they do have some entertainment value
The Old boy who hits JW on the head with a chair acted in cowboy movies for years, but I never learned his name .Edit, Found it, Hank Bell . 1892-1950. He acted in 413(!!!!) movies in bit parts.
I gotta say this is probably one of the best colorized movies I have seen in a long time that was originally black and white. Good job.🏆

Yakima Canutt not only starred in many John Wayne films, but also developed safe protocols for stunt people.
What an amazing film, never seen John Wayne this young before!
Well done on this, all action movie and great viewing!

I know Wayne could mount a horse runnin,' so I hope it was he...🤷
@@indy_go_blue6048 That's right... Thx for the reminder!
I have this movie on DVD but the original title of this movie was “Sagebrush Trail”.
@@indy_go_blue6048 Yakima and Wayne did work together in making fight scenes more realistic.
John Wayne started out not as an actor but a stuntman .....true .......
I recognized the cave and the canyon. I visited there. That location is Bronson Canyon in a section of Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
