  • I like jobs like this that require, a little more than just framing and sheeting.
    The customer has asked us to replicate a bar design he's found and Ive put my own spin on it with a curve and plinth lighting.
    The 6mm Flexi MDF feels a little too flexible so ill be doubling it up tomorrow and cracking on with the back bar and fridge housings.
    If you follow us, you'll know we run regular raffles and ive decided to give away a freebie every month as a kick back to you that support us.
    You'll need to send me a screen shot of your ticket for the current raffles, any one will do and well draw a winner at the end of the month.
    Oh! and the hat will be going with the 1st raffle that gets drawn.
    Thanks as always

    Hi Liam, just seen your bar video, sounds like it’ll be great when you’re finished,
    I’ve done a few curved bars , and reception desks, using the flexi MDF ,one with oak slatted front, as you say ,definitely needs laminating , I put Pu glue in the grooves just on the curve section,usually well overlapped , makes a really solid job,I find the MDF Cant take a lot of through fixings , tends to break up the backing.
    Looking forward to seeing it when you’ve finished .
    Great videos , keep on rockin

    Always wondered if you have to leave certain measurement between each cut for the curve or if there is a mathematical way of doing it so that you know how many cuts you need to do for the perfect radius or do you just wing it???

    How did you cut the little rounded pieces of timber at the top around the OSB?

    • @thegardenroomguru
      @thegardenroomguru  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cut bits of 2x1 roughly to length, then held them under the OSB, which gave me the internal shape, thin used a block to create the external shape, cut with jigsaw

    Don't build a home bar people. No matter how well you do it they are tacky af. It's like having an old juke box or a pinball machine. Might be nice but it's tacky.
