I was very happy to see you had a tutorial for this. I bought a Spark amp recently and was a bit confused by how to set preset tones. I find your explanations and demonstrations to be excellent! Thank you!
Very interesting. Hardly anyone describes a step-by-step method for dialing in an amp, much less a Spark. For similar British blues tones, I've found that a little compression is helpful, because it approximates what a tube amp does at high volume. The hard part in my opinion is to get enough Gain to add some scratch to the high leads without sacrificing low bass. I wish the Spark had high and low cut filters, which would help with that issue.
My amp settings rely on a high gain and low volume settings so I don't get noise complaints. I end up needing a treble boost out of a blues drive pedal to keep the sound balanced. As usual, a great "how to" demo that applies to all amps.
Beano is first so it gets the laurels but this sounds a bit more like Led Zep II to me (JP says Marshalls for a lot of II). Either way, those settings sound perfect to me. Sympathize with allergies, got 'em too. Often means a rapid test to prove it, annoyingly.
This is actually quite helpful. I don't own a proper amp for electric guitar so basically at the moment I have to rely on the amp simulation stuff built into garage band.
Great video. All of my amp settings live between 10oclock and 2oclock. I could probably get by with 3 fixed points on each knob. 10, 12 & 2. O'clock.
nice vid mate. will use this to create my own mg30 patches too. Lucky are the people with patreon, they'll get all the good stuff.
well done!! John very good!!
no wonder you love that SG sounds 100% mint
Bought second hand one couple months ago with airstep ... shoot me cause never tried it yet lol 😆... give me inspiration ....
Quick tip on the pollen: daily antihistamines and nasal sinus flush until pollen calms down. Does wonders!
Hmmm, Id like to try one of these but I have Bias Amp 2 on my Mac plus guitar pro, so not sure if I'd get much benefit from it
Couldn't get a decent sound put my spark, being a beginner it was too much, 5w blackstar, 2 channels, that's all I need
hello - I have two positive grid spark amps ( I use to play in stereo ) and was wondering how to use one app. for both amps? or if it's possible ? Do u have any ideas on that ? Thank you - billy
One app, two amps? No idea, mate. If you're recording try the Stereo Touch plug in by Voxengo 👍
I'm never clear when I listen to these videos whether the sound I'm hearing is coming from a microphone in front of the amp or whether it's being captured from USB or headphone jack fed into a PC, which can sound very different. The Spark sounds great but it would be good to know how the sound is captured.
USB for the Spark
Could anyone tell me if there is a way to have 2 delays, for example if I wanted to accurately make the Run like Hell Floyd tone. Is that a possibility?
Hey !
I've just bought a Harley Benson SG but there's one thing I dont like about it... "Dime Pots"! no room to fit CTS pots. I've got two alnico 2 pickups ready to fit and I've already fitted locking tuners, TUSQ nut and a Deusenberg Trem which I was surprised by how good it is! What pots have you got in the Epi?
CTS mate 👍
@@JRobsonGuitar That's what I thought, but the route on this SG type wont allow it. Also the push-pull only just goes in! Thanks anyway! Deep Joy!!!
John,
You used to say the Boss Katana wasn’t for you because of all the options 😳🤣😂
True, but I just find this more intuitive 😀😥
Hi. A recent subscriber of your Channel. Tasteful videos i must say. I have a request for a song "Wishbone Ash - Lonely Island". Underrated song and band. I would very much appreciate if you could make a video breaking that song down. Thank you. Fan from Pakistan.
Sorry don't really get they point is this your Sound or what. Or how to get a certain sound you like. I know its really important to you but why not let folks just experiment? It is sounding a bit predictable. I know i will be flamed for this but sorry.
It's just something I get asked a lot, mate. That's all.
No disrespect . To you .
