Thanks for being candid with us. I absolutely loved my destroyer back in the burst meta of Clown Days. It was fun erasing stagger bars and timing burst points with my team. Nowadays I honestly just feel like a ww nade for my static, never on the board, always stressing in akkan. I can't even IMAGINE the stress in theamine.
Hopefully the changes in entropy and whatever Smile Gate does will help out in the future./ I put way too many resources in my destroyer just to replace him.

Good to hear about your experience with Thaemine on destro. Had a similar experience on Akkan where it felt hard to perform as many front attacks from the boss punish you or the entire raid. But it feels like destroyer just has a higher learning curve with raids as you need to know how to position and time specifically for the boss's attacks more than other classes as the front is often unsafe even with push immunity. The first few weeks of Akkan I dreaded playing my destroyer, but now I can perform on destroyer without any issue.

1. Boss looks back
2. Boss grabs
3. Boss jumps
4. Boss does something to give you meter
It always looks away when its about to attack, gotta time it to the point
@@Tomimi570 Animation cancel seismic hammer is really nice and reliable, plus you can be at a 45 degree angle or face away from the boss and still hit. Very handy for G2 Akkan after the lantern mechs to follow up with after PS and not get medusa'd.
It's the issue with entropy classes.....why take all the time and care to have that perfect positioning for optimal damage when you could just play a hit master class for equal if not more damage :/

I feel like the worst part of playing front attackers these days isn't even just the dangerous frontal mechs/meter gain.
It's the fact that bosses are so mobile now, and front attack skills are still so slow. That means you need incredible pattern recognition for GL/Destro VS a lot of other classes to do good damage. Like Benji brings up that he slowly improved his damage as he learned Thaemine's patterns more intricately, but it feels like a lot of work you have to put in VS some Glaivier or Slayer who's just pumping insane numbers with 10x less effort.
Why do you have to give up the taunt tripod in order for the skill rotation to work?

my biggest issue with destroyer is that taunt is a fake ability in most encounters
and then there are patterns on the bosses that can be taunted that start with movement
so even if you taunt the boss can fuck off during your perfect swing charge or even swing itself right after being taunted
Kayangel is the biggest disaster for destroyers at least in the west
if the taunt is a consistant ability destroyers and gunlancers can play the game but as it is now it's just a gamble
and unlike back attackers face attackers have very limited capability to reposition and our abilities are on much higher cd so it's much more impactful when the boss decides to be a dick
i think the recent changes with destroyer are very good
the synergy uptime is permanent the taunt is synced with the swing so you don't get punished for not running swift
the animation speed up is great for those that don't want to run swift
all in all destroyer got a lot of help with these patches
if they fix how taunt works it will mend all the pain points in the other raids and thaemine will just be a huge learning curve as thaemine tends to delete you if you get hit so destroyers and gunlancers are very hard to play in general

As it is now I always run Anti-Gravity (the Shield Tripod) on Endure Pain whenever I'm in a fight where the boss can't be taunted.
I mean it sounds good and all, but its generally annoying to manually change this between gates or between raids. I wish we had more options to choose loadout on gate/raid at this point since most of the content is on farm esp if your Destroyer is alt that runs old raids.
@@ERACLAB usually what happens to me is I forget to put the taunt back on after G3/4 Brelshaza or G2/3/4 Akkan then go and do Sonavels and realize I'm not taunting.

As most NA players are annoyed we aren't getting the balance patch (faster PS/EE + meter reduction were much needed QoL), glad to see you still enjoy destroyer and pushed through. I'm a destroyer main as well and akkan was rough when it first dropped but it's easy peasy now. I think destroyer is one of the best classes for prog gameplay because the tanking ability with EP. Thaemine does look rough with a bunch of 1 shot mechs though. It is REAL hard to keep up with DPS on the "broken" classes. I'm ranting here, but destroyer definitely needs some more buffs of damage compared to all the dps that all the ambush and HM classes can pull out.

Honestly, I don't like it. Destroyer kit, especially Gravity Training is increasingly being made redundant to incompetently designed bosses which have next to no consideration given to front attackers on their patterns. The fact it's taken this bloody long to have metre management added when it should've been in since Vykas say it all, really. Never mind how the issues are downplayed by the disingenuous blaring of "skill issue" every five bloody mins because some pretentious pricks in this game cannot accept the fact that there's a genuine issue. It's been a problem since Valtan (ghost phase grab on top of his normal patterns whereas back attackers only need to worry about the rock-disturbing cross) where there's front attacker focused only patterns while the back gets it scot-free and can play optimally to their hearts content.
