Yes I support the Swahili 100%. I am from Ghana and speak a dialect known as Fanti but whenever I meet any of our Swahili sneaking family I hear some of fanti words because as the great Credo Mutwa said that the Bantus stretch from East Africa to West Africa. In all my travels people used tell me that I look more East African and I tell them because I am from the original. So yes Swahili. The great Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah even was able to started a school where Swahili was taught. Yes One Big Dialect for us all so we can communicate with brothers and sisters. Even at my age I don't think its too late. Better late than never and I am going to encourage my grandchildren my great grandchildren to learn and speak SWAHILI. Yeeeey at last unity is coming.

Kiswahili/Swahili is originally African language. Kiswahili/Swahili is a Bantu language which adapt some Arabic, Portugues, Indian, Germany and English words.
Arabic, Portugues and Indian words because of trade interaction
Germany and English words because of colonialism.
Kiswahili was written in Arabic before colonilism.
    Kiswahili/Swahili started from Kilwa (Tanganyika/Tanzania)🇹🇿.
The history shows that Tanzania was most developed empire before colonialism and western influence,It was known as KILWA EMPIRE. it controls all the trade along Indian Ocean, East and Centre Africa (Somali, Kenya, DRC, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique) and their coin was powerful acceptable as medium of exchange. The empire records over 6 decades of existence without Western influence.
Histoy shows that Kilwa Kisiwani and Songo Mnara in Tanzania was one of the biggest trade hub port. Kilwa Kisiwani has iconic forts in Africa with rich colonial history and castles in Africa that prove slavery was not a choice.
Kilwa thrived as a great empire with huge monuments and buildings forming an estate-like community where no one lived in poverty.
Despite being in ruins, many buildings still stand today that give proof that Swahili culture started there.
In recent times, the are few of the ruins that remain in somewhat good shape despite being destroyed in the 14th and 16th century by the Portuguese after colonialism invasion.
In 1981, the Kilwa island was declared as UNESCO Heritage site for Kiswahili/Swahili curture.

Swahili being the biggest and fastest growing African lingua franca is like 95% original African coastal language and only 5% foreign influence. People of other cultures i:e Arabs and the rest, who had interaction with the coastal parts and had a little bit of their language assimilate into Swahili like to over estimate their importance and influence of their culture into Swahili.

But we also have national languages, which are taught in schools and used almost always.
In Kenya, that's Swahili and English. Most people we meet are at least fluent in one of those.
So even though it's not many people's first language, it's what people end up using majority of the time.

      @user-vw6bk4pb4l ปีที่แล้ว

There was never a language called "Swahili" until the British colonial era. Instead the people of the coast all spoke closely related Bantu dialects that were standardised into one language by the British.
Even ethnically, these people did not identify as Swahili but by their tribe/clan etc. as is typical of Africans. In fact some people classified as Swahili today reject the term, preferring their native name.
It's like the term Latino. Colombians and Cubans etc. have totally distinct history and culture. Yet in the context of the wider world, they are both reduced to a single 'Latino' identity. They all speak Spanish but different variations. Or same way Americans and British both speak English. In fact, most Bantus from all over Eastern and Southern Africa can understand most Swahili, because the languages across the region are so similar.
That is not to say that the people of the coast did not have a unifying culture, because they were all Bantu people shaped by interaction with the Indian Ocean world. Another major unifying aspect was Islamic religion. Also, many of them were mixed race or even Asian or African immigrants who had assimilated into the coastal culture and readily accepted the term Swahili, because it gave them a solid sense of identity, and as part of the local culture as a opposed to foreigners such as Arabs

As an American black Africans do their continent a grave injustice by not showing the EXQUISITENESS of their land. This doesn’t make me want to speak Swahili. Theirs nothing motivating, festive or colorful about this video or others like it. It’s the typical African impoverished, remote, underdeveloped imagery. Even in some cases with an Islamic tint to it, which can also be disheartening to a person that has a drawback to Islam.
Swahili is a combination of Arabic, Portuguese and Bantu. Nice language as it my be. It was created during slavery.

Big NO. You don't have any clue about Africa. Whatever you spew is nothing but propaganda fed to you by whites. The original religion of all blacks in the US is Islam and Christianity was used to enslave you people. Learn your history well. Learn about king Mansa Musa of the great Mali kingdom who was the richest man of all time was a Muslim king from west Africa whose kingdom of Islamic and him was a Muslim.
