Let’s dance lovable is absolutely beautiful, mines is going into its 2nd year, it’s covered up and down the stem in in buds; I’m so excited because last year it bloomed more than any hydrangea I’ve ever seen.
Just love watching you boys, so sweet and such beautiful smiles. I love the tips and knowledge and the way you both share the stage! Keep them coming! ❤ "Love the floop!" 😂
I can’t wait to see all the new plants, especially the trees! I finally succeeded with lavender in my Cape Cod garden by moving it to a much drier, less cared for part. I planted it along my gravel driveway, which is south facing and just brutal to grow much else in. It is in its 4th year and it has thrived. I could see some lavender near your beautiful raised bed area too. Echinacea is usually a fail for me, so I have fingers crossed for you. I love that color.
Good morning Eric and Christopher, very excited for you and all the beautiful new additions coming to your garden, gorgeous textures and interest, wow😍will look forward to all your wonderful videos and the placement of all those beauties, stay warm.
I started 24 Floret Flower Dahlias a week before you and have 22 up! They are slow 😮🌼🐝 haven’t started the zinnias yet! Excited to see what they produce!
I can't wait to see everything you have planned! I love how you have a mixture of all types! Question for Christopher, I may have missed it, but will you be doing anything to your Coral Bells, Heucheras? I planted 5 last year and LOVE them. When not covered in snow, they were beautiful. Now they look 'melted'. Like you, I am 5b/6a. Plant as though I am 5, though.
I've grown the Fairytale eggplant the last two seasons. I never had luck with the typical black beauty eggplants. The fairytale are cute and prolific. It is just me and my husband so four plants are way too many for just the two of us. I will see how two plants work for us this year. The small size of the eggplant made it easy to harvest 4 or 5 of them to include in a dish or on a panini. I'm trying Sweet Romance Lavender this year also. It will be tricky because I have planters and everything is on drip irrigation. I will probably not put those on drip and hope I remember to water occasionally.
I did the same thing with marigolds!! Not a fan of the standard orange marigold but trying to find a deterrent to wasps in the garden. Going to seed some Eskimo Marigolds this year. Now looking to order the African Moonlights too!
We planted Fat Albert Colorado Spruce in 2002. It was supposed to be 8’x10’. We have learned the updated stats.: Grows 10 to 15 ft. tall and wide in 10 years; 40 ft. tall, 20 ft. wide in time. Ours our 30’+. I suggest you check the stats for >10 years. Love the new plants coming your way. It will be fun to find out where their new home will be.
Excellent selections! Placing your lavender on a berm is a good idea, less water puddling, especially in winter. It's the ice build up that zaps the lavender up here in the North. I've learned to put a good layer of stone(I use pea stone) around my lavender for extra heat year round, it helps melt the ice and snow quicker around the plants.
You guys are funny ❤ Thank you for showing us all the gorgeous plants❤ Q's , why you don't like forsythia? I am thinking to get one❤ Christopher, love love your glasses, very elegant look❤
I guess you need to make some room for a Generac? I hated having to get one but after 7 years of unexpected blackouts- winter &/or summer at least once a year we bit the bulletin- supposedly it is a selling point? . Downstate has problems too!
How awesome! Thank you for sharing! You two have such a gorgeous garden. I can't wait to see how it develops this year. I've started moonlight marigolds from seed as well, also in hopes of deterring the bunnies -.-. I started some dusty miller, bells of ireland, dahlias and zinnias from seed. 2 types of salvia, lettuce mix, giant chinese red peppers, anaheim peppers, pepper mix (purple, red, yellow, orange, green), jalapeno, and serrano peppers. There are also some mexican sunflowers and nasturtium going. I need to stop ordering seeds :)
Can’t wait to watch you guys train your new climbing roses. I got my first rose last year (At Last) and absolutely fell in love with it! I’d like to try climbing roses but I’m a bit intimidated.
I am in zone5. I grow a ton of lavender very successfully. Planting on a hill is what I do with great results. Never fertilize and don't water! It should do great!
Snow in NH! Another great video. Very intrigued by the Rise Up Lilac Days rose by PW. What are you going to do with the roses in the container over the winter? Will you plant them in the landscape or overwinter in protected area? Your weather is very much like mine, NH, Zone 5b-6a. Thanks so much.
You guys are so organized, I love it. That is definitely not a strong suit of mine. I impulse buy often. I see something I just have to have and think about where I'm going to put it later, which explains the two David Austin bare root roses currently potted up until I can find a place LOL. So excited for the Floret "grow along". My dahlias germinated well. I'm hopefully going to start the zinnias and celosia soon. Have you started your zinnias yet? Thanks for sharing guys. Lots of awesome plant...stop tempting me :)
I haven’t started zinnias…I’m thinking next Monday at the 6 week mark. I may way another week, I feel like everything is growing too fast in the basementbbbb
It got down to 26 at my house. I did cover my one lacecap which is the most frost sensitive one I have. And it had the biggest leaf buds some of which were starting to open. I think it faired well. I think most will do just fine. My other mopheads weren't budded enough for that one night of 20's to do much damage. Otherwise, overall the winter was very mild here so I think the hydrangea festival should be a good one this year. I am probably going to work it a little for my garden club. @@growformegardening
All im doing is waiting for this snow to melt so I can asset the damage and wait for the tree removal people. The tress did look like glass the other day which was beautiful but not the aftermath. I was also looking at the new lovable hydrangea. You will love the Japanese maples. I have about 15 and they come back as long as they are not in pots.
Excited to see your new arrivals. Hope your snow has melted. It looked pretty bad on your instagram. I have had Fairytrail bride in a pot since it was first introduced a few years ago. It is against a house during winter. I am in 7a Philly suburbs. I have found it more cold hardy than the label. Since it was introduced they did adjust the label too. That cookies and cream hibiscus looks cool. I am also planting mini vista indigo and PW artist blue this year. Last year was my first year planting both. I am going to get some for my parents too. I am also hoping to plant the vivid orchid. At least one of my favorite garden centers is supposed to have it. I am more eager than normal to plant this year. I just planted some pansies and violas to hold me over.
I have a shopping list now! 😂 So many beautiful options. Thank you for sharing your research. Question, I’m just starting to learn about bulbs. Have you found any good spring planted/fall blooming bulbs? I’m thinking for my patio and front porch planters to perk things up as the weather starts to turn. I’m also 5b/6a.
There is a perenniial that looks like ageratum that you might want to try: Conoclinium coelestinum, "commonly called mistflower, is a late summer to fall-blooming herbaceous perennial that is native to the Eastern United States. It looks like annual ageratum and is sometimes called hardy ageratum. But it is perennial and can spread aggressively by rhizomes." Credit Missouri Botanical Garden. In my z5b/6a garden, it does not spread aggressively. Does well in part shade.
Would it be possible for you guys to turn up the volume in the future? I am maxed out here and can hear you but not as much as I would like. I can't wait to see what you do to your garden this year and how it will look! So exciting even as a viewer. My zone 3 - 4 garden is depressing. Depressing because zone 4 plants must be covered with hoops of mesh filled with leaves to protect for the winter and they still might not survive.
Last fall I planted crocus and variegated tulips and the rabbits ate them to the ground. So I did some research this past fall and people say hyacinths and daffodils are rabbit resistant. The rabbits have also chewed them to the ground...even though they are supposedly poisonous. Do rabbits eat your hyacinths and daffodils too? They have also chewed all my coral bells to the ground. I'm thinking the only way I can have spring bulbs is in hanging baskets 😥
I live at the base of the Rocky Mountains and I put “big rocks” on my want list too this year 😂. I definitely searched up least ugly marigolds too 😂. I have a white one in my garden as of last year. I just don’t like those hot oranges and reds in my garden.
You might regret putting any trees or bushes with needles. huge mess and they blow every where. ALSO the bottom of spruce tree looks terrible after they mature.. We have a driveway lined with blue spruce and it has been a chore with needles and bugs.
Beautiful all the plants❤
Thanks so much 😊
Anything purple is welcome to the garden. Happy growing and hope the snow ❄️ melts quickly for you.
Yes! Thank you!

It’s going to be gorgeous!!! 🤩

Thanks for such an informative video!
Glad it was helpful!
I love your videos and I wish we were neighbors! You two are the cutest.
😊 thank you
It should be a fun season to watch! Tons of new things! Super exciting!

Sometimes they look pretty awful after the winter. I clean them up a little and if they survived they push out lovely new growth.
I grew pale yellow marigolds last year and they were really pretty. I paired them with a purple salvia and white supertunias. So so pretty!
That sounds right up our alley
Guys, thanks for sharing your future plans. I am anxious to see the results. Stay healthy through your snowstorm. 💕💕
We made it through and about 75% is melted
Exciting plans for your garden. I can’t wait to see it all!

Yes! The size listed for trees on plant tags is often the 10 year size...not the final size.
We certainly will
I agree
Love your plant ideas! I can't wait for Aldi to get their trees in so I can plant a little redbud tree. :)

Fall blooming…that has me stumped.
Hello - regarding hydrangeas- can you specify sun or shade requirements?
It depends hugely on your garden climate. We can place our hydrangeas in more sun because we are a cooler area
I think the correct term is 'muscular' 💪😁.
Excited to see how it all goes....once you can actually see your garden. :D
