He has been incredibly lucky, all things considered. Everyone dying around him, left, right and center, and there he is, enjoying his golden years with a young wife, beautiful daughters, wealth, and considerable faculties left.
I'm soooo glad EC went more to the southern blues/rock sound. I think this decision made him more "acceptable" to the greater masses. His album of late " Unplugged" is one of the best of EC's accomplishments.
+Wayne Hobbins On the contrary many people survive even worse things as that is the nature of life- the will to live. Even in the darkest of moments or in the face of almost certain death the unconscious strengths take over.
That "City Slickers" t-shirt Eric has on @4:44 was a gift from Duane Allman. Eric gifted Duane with a real nice long sleeve peacock looking button shirt that Duane wore a lot on stage.
Eric was infatuated and lustful for Patti..it wasn't true love...of course TRUE unconditional love is a rare thing in the world anyway....George cared about Patti as a person more but they were drifting apart for a number of reasons...but George definitely Patty's true love..
Sir Eric Clapton was born with Perfect Pitch And has a working knowledge of Relative Pitch. , Therefore He Can Play Anything He hears and Anything He Imagines in his Thoughts . Genius.
I am not sure you understand the terms you use and capitalizing every word does not hell the clarity. In any case, you should realize that musicians consider perfect pitch a handicap and it has nothing to do with being a genius, musical or otherwise.
For the guy who got his facts a little arse backward; I’m glad that person set the record right about Clapton, Patty Boyd, and George Harrison. I despise when someone jumbles part of Clayton’s life, history, legacy. Thanks to the guy who cleared things up.
Bell Botton Blues and Let it Grow are my favorite Clapton song I remember the Cash show.. I shot the Sherrif was my first 45 of Clapton's. I have right here in my high school case. I don't know what's on the B side. Patty, I never saw what the deal was
Need a complete Clapton Bandography in list form? It's amazing, every group he played with even early on, including solo albums, have recognizable tunes
George Harrison has integrity for being so good to Eric even though Patty was stolen by him. Its kinda weird too that he'd write such descriptive songs about her and him after that. But man, Clapton has a goodhearted life. I realized the longer you stay here on earth, the more you were meant to learn before ascending on to the higher love energy of this universe.
I like his face clean. He always thought he was ugly and no one would like him. But when you grow up thinking your mother's sister. I love him but I hate marriage cheaters. I'm so glad he married a woman from the US and Ohio. I'm glad he's got a good family. I haven't heard of Bonnie Delaney and friends in 50 yrs
Interesting enough, Wonderful tonight was NOT necessarily a happy song. It was about his tiredness and frustration with Patty that night. I don't remember where but I know that I've seen an interview with Clapton and him explaining this.
Also back in the mid 50s Fender didn't have the technology of clear hardeners that they later perfected and the clear coating would wear off the maple fingerboards very easy! When Leo Fender saw country and western guitarist with his telecasters and Stratocasters on television with there worn maple fingerboards he pulled out all the stops to find better hardeners. Then in mid 1959 when Leo fender was still struggling with the clear hardener technology they made the big change something new for Fender in 59 the rosewood fingerboard!
Jeez how does the Roger Waters album / tour (Pros & Cons..) in '84 not get mentioned at all? Clapton covering all of Gilmour's guitar parts ffs!! Talk about a historic moment in time for the guitar playing community! Think about the significance of Clapton wearing a Pink Floyd tshirt for an album and tour. Now go pick up your mind that was just blown. Then go listen to Clapton doing the Money / C Numb / ABITW P2 / Have a Cigar etc solos. You're welcome!
First, it wasn't under the Pink Floyd banner. Second, it turned out not so good for Roger Waters. People would attend the concerts for the wrong reason, namely because of Eric Clapton. And I agree with you.
He has been incredibly lucky, all things considered. Everyone dying around him, left, right and center, and there he is, enjoying his golden years with a young wife, beautiful daughters, wealth, and considerable faculties left.
He still is amazing.
The trouble with blokes my age (72) is that when we were young we all wanted to be Clapton.
The tragedy is that we still do.
My favourite Country singer growing up & to this day like Clapton was Don Williams R.I.P Don.
Clapton covered two Don Williams' songs We're all the way and Tulsa time
Thank you for the way you did the Story...

Of late?!? Unplugged is about 30 years old lol
From the Cradle and Pilgrim
Road to Escondido
My top post unplugged albums
Jesus, really when you thing about it, he's lucky to be alive. Not many people survive that sort of blackness.

When patty was asked who she loves more George or Eric..she responded she koves george forever

It was clever to say
good history, well done indeed!!
Eric the love of my life❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Eric Clapton and Cream classic.
Wow amazing background info I have heard bits and pieces before I have to find the other parts of this interview/ documentary
10:58 "the next few years were stable for Eric" ...not sure he'd agree with that
Good morning 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

People say i have perfect pitch but if it is its different to what i imagine it should be.
The man was amazing!
The pic with duane allman at 5:10 is awesome!
We love you Erick

Eric Clapton the guitar god!!

John Lennon & Clapton looked a lot alike physically back in the day.
Heroin...

Thanks for sharing
Mr Clapton got the name Slowhand because it takes him forever to change a broken guitar string 😮
Where the fuck is part 2. All I see Is 1,3 an 4. I wanted 2 mostly to hear about Cream.

It’s also in his autobiography, kept changing her outfit or something like that
Eric and the Dynamos!
Derek an the Dominos!
Jim Gordon...is the Co-Writer of Layla...
@Michael Kaylor the riff is lifted from something traditional and sped up and the love story is ancient Persian ...
Claire Williamson Actually it is As the Years Go Passing By by Albert King. It is indeed played much faster in Clapton’s version.
Michael Kaylor Do you mean half of the song qualifies as “only”?
RITA COOLIDGE
I wish that he would give those Fenders a rest and go back to playing Gibsons.
Why?
@@fabiogasperini4809 because his sound with thr Gibsons was a different level.. Best tone ive ever heard.
@@patrickrosington1174 well, it's highly subjective, even though I happen to agree with you on the tone.
LAYLA 4:30-6:01
6:20 look at that Strat's fretboard... You think he has played it a bit.... ;-)
Of Course, its Brownie ;-) That clip is from one of his guitar sales, I think it's really cool he demonstrates the riff on the guitar he wrote it on.

That's so sad I lost my son in a house fire I wasn't home
I'm very sorry for your loss.
Bob Marley died from toe cancer.
Hendrix died of intoxication and inhalation of vomit he was only 27.
Keep thinking that stupid shit.

I saw that tour, was 16, very cool, from what I remember
does anyone has the full version of this??
The only part I can't find on the "other" TH-cam And this won't play on a "mobile device"!!
Dougdenslowe what other you. Tube?vimeo?
Don't wear shades in front of your fans. I'm sure it was a drug thing. I wore this album out Then he got the woman and treated her like crap
It's curious, why it is you couldn't manage ANY color photos of any kind. Would of made this stuff more palatable.
I love Eric but hes a little boring lol
65-71 was good but after that he didn’t have the same drive
I don,t like blues.
