Your builds and design videos have been super helpful! Restarted in the grass fields and started to build way more with blueprints. My latest factory is awesome!
I love how this feels like an actual factory, but also has a nice modern feel. Reminds me a lot of Deus Ex with all the orange/dark yellow. Really awesome!
It looks great, well done - but *PLEASE* don't do so much jumping around and shaking around the camera while trying to do the tour, it is nauseating for those of us who suffer from motion sickness.
Tip: to find the recipes you want, do not select any of the ones that you don't like and left them in the list of "to select". That way, if they remain unselected, they get out of the bag of possible recipes for new hardrives, increasing the probabilities of getting the one you want.
That looks pretty good. I use global illumination from time to time. It can make game look gorgeous but for some places it makes them very hard to see, and with some lights switched on, it really can put a stain on performance. Cool tech regardless and good video. Thanks and keep it up :D
Me: Still banging Concrete Foundations together to try and make my factories less box shaped. Kylo: So I built a starter factory... I love the way that you use corridors, big staircases and open spaces. I really need to get into using the Blueprint designer more, you really inspired the way that I started using blueprints in my Update 8 save, but I need to get back into the swing of using it for cool machine areas. 4:45 I agree, both in satisfactory and the real world yellow orange lighting is superior to straight white light. Though, I do think that having a mix of both can be nice as well, and its especially effective for setting the tone of what a specific room might be used for.
@@Olivestastelikeolives a starter factory isnt about how it looks. obviously he has some skills in that but a starter factory is about what items its producing
The you get mark 4 or 5 belts and mark 3 miners and nothing fits anymore. I dont understand why people make detailed early game builds.... you will only have to tear it down.
Also: in addition to holding hard drives in your library, you can save scum the rerolls. Save beforehand, reroll, bad recipe-reload the save. The initial recipe will not change but the rerolls will, and they'll only come from the remaining recipes per SE Phase you are on.
That is the best way, I just didnt want to deal with the UI bug of not being able to see drives after a certain number. *spoiler* We got there in the end on todays stream

I'm sorry, but I learned you are a terrific builder, but that's all I got out of it. I was hoping to see how you did it, not what you did. Maybe next time.

@@graymatter369 I love hearing this! I’m glad you found some use from the design videos!
Any plans on uploading twitch vods or doing a logistics showcase? I'm really curious how you move everything around in this factory!

Maybe I’m the only one, but I play with it every session

Awesome build. I have to agree with those others though. Not a "starter" fsctory imho.
It does not produce any parts outside phase 2. Design wise it has a lot going for it, but technically IMO it’s still a starter factory, just nice!

A few people have asked about how I built this, so over the next few days I will try and work on a video about how I built this with blueprints!
