The real tragedy of this situation is that both Pearl and Greg are good people in a horrible situation that has pitted them against each other, made worse by the fact that they are the only people who could possibly understand the anguish the other is going through, but can't because of their grief and shame.
@t-eehee7057 I mean one of the reasons the fandom doesn't like it's because we've seen again and again fully lesbian characters say 'I'm bi' just to be straight (yes Greg is a man and pearl and most gems are very much women or similar to women) which okay it's not fully that and it's simplifying things. But calling Pearl Bi just because she made out with him.. BECAUSE OF ROSE, when in cannon, she's literally disgusted by every man including Greg oh and the president
I feel like people's standards for what is crack and what isn't are way too high these days... Greg x Pearl feels just like your average rarepair to me. A crack ship would be like. Idk. Blue Diamond x Ronaldo or sth
If I remember right, Rebecca told her fans "Shine on, you crazy diamonds!" regarding their fanmade stuff, saying something along the lines of "We make up even weirder shit behind the scenes." It always made me wonder what ideas DON'T make it into SU...now I do, and it's pretty funny. Edit: Wasn't her personally, but they did say it xD
Suddenly years of consuming just the official works of Rebecca, the songs, the subtexts and all turned into the one friend most healthy queer people have that can be described as a serial killer with a suitcase wanting to show you why god's greatest mistake was giving them the ability to draw and their are going to make it Only the people they deem close's problem. My perception about Rebecca as a queer Icon changed... maybe for the bizarre better
I'll say as a lesbian, I don't think this ship is prevented by Pearl's sexuality. She's never stated to be lesbian, and I have known bisexual girls who had a strong preference for women, but still identified as bisexual. That doesn't make them any less queer, and I don't think takes away from their representation. Though, I don't know if the internet and people at large can handle the conversation of bisexual people with preferences, they can barely handle bisexuals who equally like both.
My personal headcannon is that Pearl becomes Greg’s caretaker in old age finally reconciling that last bit of self consciousness of being “a pearl” in choosing to assist someone on her own terms making everything come full circle
Considering Pearl doesn't have a confirmed sexuality (The Gems don't already confirm to gender roles, as they're just projections from their gem), I don't think they'd really care about sexuality. I can welcome this. It would be a toxic dynamic in a way but I find it comforting that Greg and Pearl would fall in love due to their shared grief over losing Rose. Sure, the other Gems were hurt by Rose's loss as well but Greg is the only one she could really relate to in that terms of lose since they both loved her.
@@kjprodouctions9050 Honestly I did too, I always thought that if they were to fall in love, they'd do it to heal and help each other with their feelings about Rose and her being gone.
Okay let's not make it complicated. I don't want a million year old loli situation. The gems are presented as women and are voiced by women, they probably woman. Rose/pink diamond was pregnant so she a woman
@@dantegallardo1974 The Gems, by all logic, are non-binary. They don't conform to human gender standards, they can freely choose whatever form they want to project from their gems. Rebecca Sugar herself has confirmed they're non-binary. They may be female coded but we have to remember that they are aliens and refer to their bodies as illusions.
To this day i can't get out of my head the whole episode with Amethyst getting Greg hooked on the tv show again and then morphing into Rose, and that apparently it wasn't the first time. Like, just try to open that can of worms XD
I always wanted to know more about that too! From the way Amethyst talks, it seems like they hung out BEFORE Greg began dating Rose but then the flashback episode of how they first met seems to retcon that.
"Pearl canonically has gotten way more digits". The word "canonically" is carrying that whole argument for Pearl having more rizz than Greg. Frankly, just with his popularity at the Human Zoo, and the implications about hus past prowess mentioned in that same episode, it honestly makes way more sense that Greg has the most game in the whole series
Recently, another piece of crack ship art came from rebecca sugar in the form of AmethystXSadie (with Amethyst turing into lars to sleep with sadie). Honestly, it makes Amethyst turing into rose make a whole lot of sense

@@DanielPereira-ey9nt I am aware of that, infact that was around the time I ceased associating with them. Like how can the fanbase of a very inclusive series be so, how'd I say exclusive (I can't think of the actual wording)?
imo pearl being a lesbian was always just a mass headcanon that spread so far where not agreeing with it is akin to blasphemy to the fandom it never made sense to me that an alien sexless gem without the biological ability for sexual preference would be attracted to a single gender, i always assumed gems are if anything attracted to personality, aesthetics etc
The way you write it really reminds me of my younger self when I used to say “rocks can’t be gay, they’re just rocks” but I understand your feelings because they’re not as superficial like my previous thoughts.. Tbh growing up with this show I always assume if Pearl wasn’t strictly lesbian she was at most a wlw character. Since Pearl was always seen intimate with female presenting characters. The art from Rebecca doesn’t bother me though, It’s definitely thought provoking when you look beyond the shock of it
This makes sense, the gems aren't women in terms of the reproductive organs but I still choose to see Steven universe as one of the gayest characters ever
What makes it especially bad is that there are so many different versions of the characters that when people hear this statement, they get different pictures in their heads, and none of them are OK .
He didn't mention the actual context of the line: what if Alfred was in love with Batman and not Bruce Wayne, meaning Pearl being in love with Rose Quartz, NOT Pink Diamond. The point being that Pearl only developed romantic feelings for Rose and not her Diamond (a lot of fans mistakenly think Pearl was always into Pink Diamond and only cared about her because she was her Diamond, when she actually only fell in love with her as Rose.)
Rebecca Sugar drew art of practically every ship. I'm pretty sure she's more than cool with exploring the possibilities no matter how unlikely the pairing.
Her husband Ian Jones-Quartey says the Crewniverse is fine with rule 34…because apparently “the writers room talks we have about the actual canon is (sic) waaaay sicker”
@@fernythorns I think people get overly prude about it, because it's a kids show. Anything you create attached to its name, even unintentionally, people will see as "marketing to kids". Mayor Dewey/Pearl was a Pearl ship that had a fun run when it was revealed Mayor Dewey had a crush on her. Until the other SU fans pretty much bullied them out of existence.
Honestly my first thought was for those Pewey shippers. Like, I don't think I saw anyone take it to seriously outside of "haha wouldn't this be goofy" only to see it get dogpiled to death.
Shockingly enough, I never shipped anyone is Steven Universe. I think I was too busy trying to figure out where the frick Rebecca Sugar was going with this story.
Yea it was a mess at times, and quite a few elements were never clarified in the end; the pretext of "intentional ambiguity" (which was in fact either genuine cluelessness from the creators themselves or laziness disguised as such) brushing aside the fans' legitimate questions and confusion while also putting on an air of forced mystery over things that would have in fact benefited from being directly addressed. The writing was clunky at best. For me, the series' real charm resided in the character dynamics and formidable acting from the whole cast. Not the plot itself.
@@yosos2 Freaking LION, for one. Where the hell does he come from? Why does he obey Steven? Also how did Rose give birth to Steven and become him at the same time?? That never made sense and it still doesn't. There's a myriad of things that fans had to piece together haphazardly because the creators never gave a clear answer on those.
@@elitadream >"Where the hell does he come from? Why does he obey Steven?" Did you watch S4E3 and S5E4? >"Also how did Rose give birth to Steven and become him at the same time??" Are you really expecting a kids show to dive into specific details of child birth?
@@dgsf9444 Oh so you're just going to give me that petulant rhetoric instead of answering anything either. I should have expected that! There's one single flashback scene of Rose standing in the desert with other lions (also never explained) but other than that? No element of the entire show ever gives a clear answer about Lion. None. And obviously you can't tell me either by the looks of it. Also stop treating kids like delicate snowflakes that need to be shielded from even the most basic and natural things. They very much can handle fundamental subjects like childbirth and teaching them early on about it is not only healthy; it's necessary. Avoiding the topic entirely in a series where the whole plot literally revolves around the result of said action is not only stupid but also very confusing for the audience. Basically, the show tried to hide its narrative laziness and unsurprisingly failed in more than one occasion. I don't get why you defend it so vehemently as it's really not that good nor even that well written.
I never understand shipping discourse. Literally shipping is just fanfiction. And fanfic has always gotten weird. Crack ships used to be my favorite part of old fandoms cause they are like mini alternate universes. Im also not sure why people are upset about Rebecca drawing porn. Like im 90% sure if most fans could draw their favorite characters on model consistently they would be tempted to. And personally im surprised more creators haven't had the non canon stuff they draw exposed like this because i promise you Rebecca isn't in the minority. If you ever got to a convention Literally any convention. Try to find someone selling animation cells and artist notes. I promise they have some spicy ones in their collection if you ask them, and they will be from the most surprising shows you can imagine.
I remember reading somewhere about older Disney animators having drawn porn to help understand how the body works and how it helps animating much more fluidly. So, yeah, don't really see anything wrong with Rebecca having her own stash as long as it's two consenting adults.
I mean, I just don't like porn in general, no matter who draws it. But I see your point. Also, I think that from the top of my head, the only other creator to reveal stuff like this was Bruce Timm, creator of Batman the Animated Series.
@@vicenzostella1390 Others have done it too. Either openly or it was a secret that got exposed. For example, the creator of Astro Boy and Jungle Emperor Leo drew soft core porn but it wasn't found until after he passed away by his daughter.
okay so we watch the episode Mr. Greg a lot because my three-year-old is obsessed with it, which means my mom has also watched it a lot. and EVERY TIME my mom says it's super obvious that the creator wanted pearl and greg together, and i treated her like she was crazy for hetero-ing the show???? and now i have to tell her she's right??????????
Out of all ships, this one is my favorite as it makes the most sense. Not only did Greg and Pearl both love the same person (Rose Quartz), but Pearl serves the Mother role best for Steven. And being a Pearl by nature, she has a strong affinity for cleanliness and keeping things organized that Greg desperately needs help with. In short, I feel that Pearl would make a good life partner for Greg (and their relationship doesn't even need to be "sexual" in any way, either. Some married couples can go their whole lives without any of that.)
pearl isnt a lesbian, she likes females but it was never stated that she didn't like men just because lesbian pearl is a popular headcanon doesn't means that is canon
I can't really say it's a cracked ship mostly because there is foundation to work for it. My idea of a crack ship is like onion X chaos, or Jamie X amethyst or something like that
Horrific opinion: They should have started off together and leveraged their mutual codependency for springboards into their own (individual) personal growth
You know me finding out Rebecca sugar draws porn was not on my bingo card today. Also who really cares about this ship just let people have their fun and ship people with who they want, if it ain't problematic then its fine
@@t-eehee7057 Sorry that wasn’t my intent 😅 I just think it’s funny how outraged people were about Rebecca’s horny art when she’s been doing this with her characters for a long time and I was surprised more people didn’t know about it. Not trying to be snarky or anything lol
Pearl and Rose gives the vibes of Pearl says they're fine with being in an open relationship but in reality can't dies inside every time they're not the one spending time with Rose
I miss when people would just ship for fun, to explore different relationship types, the psychological sides, etc. (maybe just me). Now it’s all “that character is this coded or that coded” as if they’re real people and not fictional characters that can leave different interpretations on fans who have different experiences they want to explore and live vicariously through (again maybe just me). Btw, this is coming from someone who sees Pearl as a lesbian who ships her with bismuth and volleyball, but not all together, more like a multishipper way.
00:51 so iconic of her honestly! Back in the day people used to send anonymous hate to pearlgreg shippers, and now there's a (unofficial) art of them from the author themselves! Amazing! But also the art is genuinely sweet. Also loved Greg and Pearl's reluctant friendship in the show. Them being in a band together was very nice.
I miss that pink haired human girl Pearl crushed on in that 1 episode. That could have led to a great arc of pearl moving on, becoming friends with greg, and even having a family on Earth.
Kinda rant I guess but I love wlw ships and rejoice with each new ones being canonized (especially in cartoons) but holy heck do i try to stay away from the shippers. I've seen so many convinced that the only reason someone would dislike their ship is because homophobia i guess 😭 and if someone ships half of their ship with a bOY??? Oh boy all hell breaks loose. Doesn't matter if the character doesn't have a canon orientation, doesn't matter if the character is bi, apparently their ship is the only ship allowed Also about greg x pearl honestly it's not even that cracked. Also it has so much potential, both to be healthy, or to be toxic af
"Steven Universe: a show about that one kid CPS couldn't find" sums it up pretty well. Also, Greg x Pearl? I'm not really surprised... Ships can get weird, very quickly. But if given to the right author? It can work
It literally works in the show at any point post mr Greg. But especially post SU movie. It'd arguably be one of the most healthy relationships in the show with the only "problem" being it pisses off people who headcanon pearl as a lesbian. That's not really a writing issue that can be overcome regardless of who you get to write it.
These weren't the only doodles Sugar had made after Future. They also made some doodles of Bismuth and Rose smooching, as well as Pearl turning into Greg, trying to get some with Rose, and Rose trying to convince Pearl she doesn't have to do that. Considering how close Bismuth and Pearl were/are, it makes me think of the Crystal Gems almost being like a giant rock polycule. But above all else, Rose was Pearl's main gem.
“Every artist has done at least some horny stuff with their characters” reminds me of a TikTok comment I saw where they said “Rebecca is just shipping their oc’s together leave them alone.” And honestly? That’s so real (within reason, because I’m not gonna advocate for taboo stuff) because I feel like people sometimes forget that the creators of these shows OWNS these characters and can do whatever they want with them just like people and their oc’s whether it’s cannon or not. Me and a friend ship our dnd characters but it’s not cannon to the story at all we just thought it would be funny.
It's one of those crazy ships... that you could see. Lovers to rivals, sharing in grief, getting together by accident more in an attempt to raise Steven rather that trying to romance one another. The fact that the dad knows how to handle problems and the fact that Peral struggles to deal with her own problems that only continue to grow with each day... A crazy ship that isn't cannon, but one that makes sense in an interesting way. Much like the question of who Steven would end up dating if he dated someone else.
Listen. I gotta be honest. From the moment that one episode happened...mr greg, i think it was, I've always sorta liked them together. Them getting closer over their shared loss and forming a genuine friendship from what was before that a straight up antagonist relationship from day one was both really sweet and way more nuanced and mature than I expected. Then the movie happened and I was all in on Pearl and Greg. Just seeing them hanging out as friends without Steven was such a beautiful showcase of how far they'd come and seeing the lengths greg went to to get her back to her old self rather than taking advantage of her. It was just great. Anyway, i said all that to say this. I support greg and pearl.
I had no idea this was a ship or that those sketches existed but as a crack ship, I'm kinda into it xD It has the same appeal to me that Peter Quill x Nebula does where it's two people grieving the same person who, despite their differences, are the ones best suited to helping each other heal. Also I'd love to hear you talk about more crack ships like this. The majority of ships I have are ones I know are never gonna happen but are so layered and/or silly like this one so this was a treat.
@@L4xu0rii_PNG if there’s subtext that is not a crackship tho that’s just a regular old ship. The whole point of a crackship is that it will never happen and the characters barely know each other
There have been ships and both fictional and nonfictional relationships where two people were brought together by the same person, losing them, bonding over the loss, and ending up together because of it. So something like this would be interesting if the writers of the show wanted to experiment with Pearl and Greg further bonding. Plus the freakin creator of the Steven Universe drew this, not some fan-fic obsessed troglodyte who's life's work is "fixing" the show and burning anyone who objects on a cross. If ANYONE has the right to ships characters in a story it would be the person who actually made it in the first place.
Everytime a "drama" comes out about Rebecca I go: "Wow, they are just like me fr" I love making weird ship for stuff I like and my own OCs, Rebecca is based! Rare/Crackship forever Also, I agree with you, I'm queer and canon queer is important to me too. But honestly, fanon is fanon, it really doesn't matter. Do whatever you want.
Not technically cracked as Greg/Amethyst sorta happened, but I would like to see more of them. Granted most of it was them watching lil' Butler... but Amethyst apparently liked to dress up as Rose to get a rise out of Greg (Possibly in more than one way).
I died a little inside when I saw that crack ship from miraculous ladybug. Not since Harry and Voldemort have I been so horrified by a ship. The worst part is? I’m sure somebody did it. To each their own, but sweet Arceus that one’s… creative. As for cracked ships I liked growing up…hmmm. Timon and Pumba? Lilo and Stitch? Tom and Jerry, lol. Oh, and Zim and Dib. The majority of the fandom makes them the same age, and we just run with it. I’ve been reading it since I was 13, lol.
Honestly I see Perl as like- genderless and gender queer- and same with rose, so of course Greg is down for the count but for me her making out with Greg to just understand the feeling makes sense
Mah boi saw a building on fire and said "it could be more on fire..." And and towards it with a bucket of gasoline and Made a video out of it ... Mad respect XD
While I'm intrigued with the drip feeding of these ships from Sugar, I'd pay money to see their while sketchbook. No explanations needed, just the source and 'Spiral Bound' playing for the vibes
Ngl, while I never watched SU, I know somewhat about the story and characters, and this ship did cross my mind at some point, if only for "wouldn't that be funny" but also, maybe it could work. Also, authors should release their noncanon, perhaps horny stories more often. Would be fun.
You wanna know something more tragic? Pearl and Rose may have done it a couple of times, but I don’t Rose thought of her as a permanent companion, only a friend and companion. She doesnt resent her or hate her but she didn’t want someone who would praise her as a goddess or perfect person, she didn’t want to be put on a pedestal. She wanted to be seen as a person, flawed and insecure as everyone. Greg was willing to give that to her. He saw her as a person and accepted her, flaws and all. That’s why she chose Greg. But Pearl cannot see why because of her programming. That’s why she learned to move on and see that’s she’s not the problem and neither was Greg, she just moved past her.
Can I really label Greg as straight when he clearly seemed to like both the guy and girl zooman and didn't really oppose to them "choosening" him, his only problem being how "forced" it was
For me it's not just the scale, its also intent. Like if someone is shipping a queer character in a strait relationship and they're doing it because they like those two characters and their dynamic, thats honestly fine. Like it is erasure and thats not great but people are gonna ship who they want. However, if they're doing it because they are homophobic and are making the characters strait because they don't like that they're gay, then we have a problem. Like the hunter and amity thing, not my taste but I can see why some people might like it for other reasons than homophobia. But all those people who shipped princess bubblegum and marcaline with their male counterparts just to make the ship not gay, fuck that noise.
@@dynamitewolft4194 yeah that’s what I’m talking about. People shipped princess bubblegum with Marshalee, and Marcaline with prince gumball. Just so they wouldn’t have to ship Marcaline and princess bubbblegum together because they didn’t like they’re both girls, or that Marsha Lee and prince gumball are both boys.
Depends on the universe i think 🤔 Fionna's new world human(?) Marshall are clearly gay, While previous Fanfic Vamp Marshall clearly was flirting with Fionna I just hate Multiverse stories that says that all iterations needs to be the same. Spinnerette pulled that, and it kinda removed their "free will" imo The only thing I don't like with OwlHouse fandom is how much "unified" they are with their non-canon ships, I mean each and every one of them has all their ships aligned with each other. I remember the days of the Shipping Wars of Star Vs the Forces of Evil, when each factions was fighting over which pairing is "better", that it caused multiple timelines 😅 For example, while I'm not disliking Luz × Amity, I like pairings like Luz × GoldenGuard × Amity too. 😅
@@Hanmacx yeah I get what you mean. But for the record Marcaline, princess bubblegum, marshalee and gumball are all bi. So marshal flirting with Fiona at first doesn’t mean he isn’t queer
All crack ships are unlilkely, a ship being unlikely doesn't make it a crack ship and I'd say these two are pretty firmly not what you'd call crack.. That being said these two easily have one of the most facinating dynamics in the whole series with a full arc that resolved itself before the final season aired. I appreciate it for what it is.
Strange, but I'm fine with this. I have seen several ships between characters that only interact with each other for one episode then never see each other again for the entire series, so honestly, I actually see Greg X Pear to be rather tame.
Alright so after my inital shock that Rebecca Sugar created those images, I think this could actually be a fun story if it were ever made canon. I also imagine the not so fun time Steven would have trying to think about how he'd feel about that.
If gay people can ship straight characters in a gay ship, then straight people can ship gay characters as straight too. It's all about preference and who you think would go good together. Ship whoever you want with whoever you want, just don't try to force other people to agree or like your ship.
14:52, to be fair with the Marcille and Falin there's a reason to why its non-canon (or at least not by the end of the manga necessarily) and its in-character stuff so its still interesting and understandable
You put a straight character on a gay ship in fanworks, nobody bats an eye. But put a gay character on a straight ship in fanworks, and everybody loses their minds!
Not saying it's right, but imo it is somewhat understandable. As Chorus said, the queers fought hard to have the representation we have now, and that's even while we still get backlash for any queerness being seen and politicians and laypeople still threatening everyday to do everything they can to take it all away and worse. More queer content means more representation, meanwhile taking a queer character and putting them in a straight ship, it can be perceived as trying to take away queerness from a character while so many queer people deal with people denying and rejecting their existence and representation irl, I can see why some people get defensive even though ships don't erase canon material. If you think it sounds silly to think bad faith fan artists would use art to de-gay queer characters, I would remind people we once saw a small whiny legion of GamersTM maliciously drawing a black gym leader from Pokémon as white or drawing r@cist depictions of the character to stick it to people who appreciated seeing a darker skinned woman gym leader in the game.
Chorus literally explains why exactly that is the case and if you were paying attention you would understand why exactly people get upset about it. I'm saying this as a person who likes the Greg x Pearl ship as a queer person.

Which is sad tbh
If that the fucking truth, lol
that is sadly true, even though I'm a Bisexual who has a strong preference for men.

My personal headcannon is that Pearl becomes Greg’s caretaker in old age finally reconciling that last bit of self consciousness of being “a pearl” in choosing to assist someone on her own terms making everything come full circle
You know, I'd quite like to see that in a sequel/story.
Well fuck this tugs my heart strings.
this is really beautiful. made me tear up a bit thinking about it.
PearlxGreg is arguably the healthiest ship outside of some canon ones 😭 even if it's weird

Wha- ya sure?
Considering Pearl doesn't have a confirmed sexuality (The Gems don't already confirm to gender roles, as they're just projections from their gem), I don't think they'd really care about sexuality. I can welcome this. It would be a toxic dynamic in a way but I find it comforting that Greg and Pearl would fall in love due to their shared grief over losing Rose. Sure, the other Gems were hurt by Rose's loss as well but Greg is the only one she could really relate to in that terms of lose since they both loved her.
I find it comfortable, too. In fact, I honestly sorta shipped them during the good moments theu had in the show
@@kjprodouctions9050 Honestly I did too, I always thought that if they were to fall in love, they'd do it to heal and help each other with their feelings about Rose and her being gone.
@@fernythorns that's a good idea
Okay let's not make it complicated. I don't want a million year old loli situation. The gems are presented as women and are voiced by women, they probably woman. Rose/pink diamond was pregnant so she a woman
@@dantegallardo1974 The Gems, by all logic, are non-binary. They don't conform to human gender standards, they can freely choose whatever form they want to project from their gems. I mean, did you see the Sadie/Amethyst drawings? Because…👀
I always wanted to know more about that too!
Frankly, just with his popularity at the Human Zoo, and the implications about hus past prowess mentioned in that same episode, it honestly makes way more sense that Greg has the most game in the whole series

imo pearl being a lesbian was always just a mass headcanon that spread so far where not agreeing with it is akin to blasphemy to the fandom
it never made sense to me that an alien sexless gem without the biological ability for sexual preference would be attracted to a single gender, i always assumed gems are if anything attracted to personality, aesthetics etc
...and what aesthetic and personality do gregg and pink share?
The way you write it really reminds me of my younger self when I used to say “rocks can’t be gay, they’re just rocks” but I understand your feelings because they’re not as superficial like my previous thoughts..
Tbh growing up with this show I always assume if Pearl wasn’t strictly lesbian she was at most a wlw character. Since Pearl was always seen intimate with female presenting characters. The art from Rebecca doesn’t bother me though, It’s definitely thought provoking when you look beyond the shock of it
Like Greg and Pearl really went through it. So when I see that art it just makes me sad

@@lexa2310weird to be implying that you can only be attracted to only 1 aesthetic.
I'm sorry, after the "what if alfred is in love with batman" line came out. My head literally blanked out😳 like wtf.
I'm not surprised that there was a Greg X Pearl ship, but I am surprised Rebecca Sugar drew, uh... 'art' of it.
I mean, they're basically her OCs. She can do whatever she wants with them.
@@AJ-xc4qe it’s not exactly uncommon for people working on animated shows to draw that either. I don’t know why people act so shocked about it.
@@fernythorns I think people get overly prude about it, because it's a kids show. Anything you create attached to its name, even unintentionally, people will see as "marketing to kids". Yes especially because it was seriously considered being made canon as seen in the series bible and Sandy's first 4 appearances.
Someone on tiktok said this and i need to share it:
"You mean to tell me no one head cannoned that Pearl and Greg didn't have a small messy moment due to their hurt and confused feelings of grief???
Like they're uncomfortable being alone becasue are they about to fight over who hates more who, orrrrrr are they just gonna close their eyes and wish it was Rose?"
TIKTOK had it??
Mayor Dewey/Pearl was a Pearl ship that had a fun run when it was revealed Mayor Dewey had a crush on her. Until the other SU fans pretty much bullied them out of existence.
Honestly my first thought was for those Pewey shippers. Like, I don't think I saw anyone take it to seriously outside of "haha wouldn't this be goofy" only to see it get dogpiled to death.
This reminding me A LOT of the ATLA fandom in regards to shipping
@@elitadream???? What was left unanswered? People just were overly critical and forgot stuff that happened because episodes came so far apart

Are you really expecting a kids show to dive into specific details of child birth?
@@Guarder_Sol Let's face it, though, there are definitely creators out there doing interesting things with their underage characters, as well.

My idea of a crack ship is like onion X chaos, or Jamie X amethyst or something like that
I'm still an Jamie X Garnet shipper 😆
Horrific opinion:
They should have started off together and leveraged their mutual codependency for springboards into their own (individual) personal growth
Independent together and whatnot.
You can definitely work with that, given proper time.
Weirdly, this could give them both closure in a strange way. Not my ship personally, but I get it.

Greg DEFINITELY got the rose haired woman. He got rizz😂😂😂😂

Doesn't matter if the character doesn't have a canon orientation, doesn't matter if the character is bi, apparently their ship is the only ship allowed
Also about greg x pearl honestly it's not even that cracked. Also it has so much potential, both to be healthy, or to be toxic af
iirc Rebecca said that Greg was basically Tenchi after he hits middle age and I've always kind of resonated with that idea.
Not gonna lie, as someone who's currently writing a fanfic with a crackship I'm very proud of, PearlxGreg ain't that weird.
Out of curiosity, which ship are you writing about. No judging, I couldn't care less about what people ship.
The perfect and healthiest ship
These weren't the only doodles Sugar had made after Future. They also made some doodles of Bismuth and Rose smooching, as well as Pearl turning into Greg, trying to get some with Rose, and Rose trying to convince Pearl she doesn't have to do that. Considering how close Bismuth and Pearl were/are, it makes me think of the Crystal Gems almost being like a giant rock polycule. But above all else, Rose was Pearl's main gem.
I didn’t expect a Pearl X Greg video before a Steven X Connie Video
Can someone explain how genderless works? Because rose was D flowerd somehow 😅🤭
yoooo you actually fixed the music, you are the best dude
Please do Garnet (ruby x saphire) the OTP of the series
“Greg did not gobble 16 truckers behind a Denny’s to get labeled a straight man”
YOU UNDERSTAND ME.
Can't wait until you cover the Sadiethyst sketches too.
1:42 That joke was hilarious. Especially because for some reason I shipped both Greg and Blue Diamond.

Okay, but I actually shipped this when I was younger and I'm loosing my mind over this. Ik it doesn't mean it's canon, it's just funny to me
Not technically cracked as Greg/Amethyst sorta happened, but I would like to see more of them. Granted most of it was them watching lil' Butler... but Amethyst apparently liked to dress up as Rose to get a rise out of Greg (Possibly in more than one way).

Timon x Pumba and Tom x Jerry are a lot more canon than Lilo x Stitch is, buddy

Ngl, while I never watched SU, I know somewhat about the story and characters, and this ship did cross my mind at some point, if only for "wouldn't that be funny" but also, maybe it could work.
Also, authors should release their noncanon, perhaps horny stories more often. Would be fun.
Shampoo x Mousse from Ranma1/2 would make a great video
True.
Although, when it comes to anime romances, Tohru x Kyo from Fruits Basket would also be a decent video
Can I really label Greg as straight when he clearly seemed to like both the guy and girl zooman and didn't really oppose to them "choosening" him, his only problem being how "forced" it was
Youre on the Canon ground, I'm up in crackship space...
But all those people who shipped princess bubblegum and marcaline with their male counterparts just to make the ship not gay, fuck that noise.
when i first read that i thought you meant they were shipping the female characters with their male counterparts
Depends on the universe i think 🤔
Fionna's new world human(?) Marshall are clearly gay,
While previous Fanfic Vamp Marshall clearly was flirting with Fionna
I just hate Multiverse stories that says that all iterations needs to be the same. Spinnerette pulled that, and it kinda removed their "free will" imo
The only thing I don't like with OwlHouse fandom is how much "unified" they are with their non-canon ships, I mean each and every one of them has all their ships aligned with each other.
I remember the days of the Shipping Wars of Star Vs the Forces of Evil, when each factions was fighting over which pairing is "better", that it caused multiple timelines 😅

Yeah and even then they are just unbearable ppl to be around at the very least.
The Amethyst and Sadie art is wilddd
Honestly i want this to be canon on thd basis it will piss so many people off
honestly. i’m just a fan of Greg _gettin it_ from any angle. Fucker was made for me in a lab
sadie x amethyst (shape shifted to lars) was something also drawn up…
14:52, to be fair with the Marcille and Falin there's a reason to why its non-canon (or at least not by the end of the manga necessarily) and its in-character stuff so its still interesting and understandable

@@gregvs.theworld451I just think it's hypocritical that to call someone out for putting something where it 'canonically' doesn't belong, only to get mad when people call them out for doing the exact same thing but opposite.
@@gregvs.theworld451drawing a racist depiction of a black character doesn’t compare to shipping a non-canon lesbian with a man. People need to get over themselves
Can't wait for the Amethyst X Sadie video. That is a complete trainwreck of a ship.
To be blunt, usually the backlash against a het couple in a lgbt heavy fandom is simply bc its "straight" and ppl be insecure af.
Greg x Pearl is just what happens when you’re both grieving your gorgeous bbw lover
We've had PearlxRosexGren pilot style and OpalxGreg art from Day 1, so really no one should be stocked.
Do the Amethyst and Sadie one!!! Rebecca was getting DOWN in that sketchbook 😭🤣👀
