    Marcus, I’ve been watching you for the last 3 years and am amazed at the methods you use with your pupils. It seems the problems your pupils exhibit are very similar and are focused around ground forces, shifting pressure and swing path but with John you coached him around shaft lean using the tennis balls to raise awareness without any mention of pressure shift…very curious on how you decide your approach for each “journey”?

    Great drill for everyone! I have been struggling with my swing for the last two years with shanks, pushes and pulls not knowing where the ball was going. After my rounds my left forearm was sore along with my left shoulder. Now I know why! I was playing to a 5 hdgp it went to 7 and the way I was playing would have continued to increase. This is what I needed can’t wait to get back on track! Thanks

    I've been watching many of your videos during the last couple of weeks and have been gleaning much from them. There are so many gems in your instruction! Today, I hit a few into a net while making sure that the handle (the upper tennis ball) was going first before the club head. Moving my weight with loading & unloading, I hit several shots that sounded so good as they jumped off the club face. The most interesting thing was how I didn't even need to keep my eye on the ball. I let the club movement be initiated from my feet and through body movement. I started with my eye on the ball into the backswing, but then I would forget about the ball and swing to my finish position. Once I started the backswing, I could've closed my eyes and would've still impacted the ball. Somehow, that just stood out as incredible to me. I'm looking forward to going to the range so I can see the ball flight. Also, I've learned that I have to make sure and rotate my pelvis in order to have a draw swing - I've previously developed a habit of not rotating my pelvis enough, resulting in more shoulder movement to compensate, leading to a slice (out-to-in path). I've spent too much time trying to control the clubhead with a focus on hitting the ball, but I don't need to; the clubhead follows the handle and then releases through the ball as I unload. It's amazing to feel these things! I still have to develop a feeling for the orientation of the face, but I'm greatly encouraged. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and instruction!

    The tools and the spatial awareness concept in this video is awesome. I normally shoot 95 and I can not only relate to that toe strike but now I think my body now knows what to do - or more specifically the torso, the swing path, and even (as to how many left knuckles I can see) the grip now have a spatial reference. Thank you from Canada!

    Can’t wait to try this at the range.. My question is this. It appears to me the gentleman has the iron de-lofted at setup. Hands look like they are at middle thigh position at setup. Is this okay? I struggle with getting to the left side before pulling hands down, therefore I’m flipping and standing up out of the shot. So I’m a terrible iron player. What’s odd is that my driver is excellent. Anyway just curious about setup or any feedback that you may have.

    Thanks Marcus for the excellent video. Question does keeping the hands lower on the downswing help to not stand the club shaft up?

    • @GRFGolf

      You're welcome! It'll depend on the person mostly but so long as you're leading with the handle and keep and experimental approach with it - you'll find a spot which just feels right for you. Try it out and let me know how you get on!

    Great visual with the 2 balls. I had a lesson with Brian Manzela several years ago, he called me a "goddam handle dragger" and got me to throw the clubhead from about hip hieght, it gave me a little more clubhead speed, but not much. My handicap has varied between 2 and 5 for nearly 50 years and my 5 cents worth is that dragging the handle results in more consistency than throwing the clubhead but like anything in golf it's a balance, too much throw is bad, too much drag is bad, experiment a bit but efficient use of ground force is essential and non negotiable....

    I saw your preview video last week which gave me some light bulb moments however this one locked things down for me.
    This is the first time I have understood how swing path is intended to be achieved and how wrong was the way I was trying to achieve it.
    Interesting how lag is just naturally created as well once you can visualise how the club moves and releases on the intended swing path.

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure, lag is just a byproduct. Ironically we can actually hinder lag by attempting to get it positionally

    Noticed that your student's balance was significantly better after the lesson. Is that as a result of the new approach to the ball or just a refocus on balancing?

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't actually directly work on balance in this session but generally an improvement in balance and coordination does emerge once we're swinging more efficiently 👍
