His teaching is some of the best I listen to on TH-cam. Always follows Scripture and brings out truth so many can understand. Gets me to see things I hadn't noticed yet. This makes for a good Bible study with historical references about the times going on then.
What a power Bible study.Thank you pastor Gary for your wonderful teaching.I am from the state if Washington.I am pray for you & your family and church.
Thank you very much for your Bible study. Yiu are so easy to understand & describe things so accurately. May the Lord bless you. Thank you. Belinda London UK 🙏❤🤗
Dear Pastor Gary. I am in the UK enjoying your teaching from 1 John chapter 2. The court scene you describe is certainly accurate, Jesus is indeed our advocate! BUT, you make the Father, the judge sound like a fearful authority figure who is bent on seeing us squirm! NO - our father loves us so! Yes, He is just, yes we are sinners, but He loves us so! He lifts us up and honours us as His very own. Please emphasise this, we desperately need to be held to our Fathers chest and loved….
15:24 Calvinist here! I agree only partly with your interpretation of 1 John 2:2. You say that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, but I believe you're misinterpreting that verse (after all, if Jesus died for everyone's sins, then no one would be going to hell anymore.) That verse is saying that Jesus is the only possible savior for the world, not that he already HAS saved the whole world. The part I DO agree with you on is when you say that Jesus died for those who would be saved. But the process in which we are saved is NOT up to us or anything we do or say. The one who is responsible for our salvation is God and God ALONE (Titus 3:5, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Timothy 1:9, etc). To that statement, one may ask: "If that's true, then how did I and every Christian I know put our faith in Jesus?" To that, I say look at verses like John 6:44, John 3:8, and Ephesians 1:4. These three verses, and many others, tell us that we are INCAPABLE of coming to Jesus unless the Father draws us to him (John 6:44), that the act of regeneration by the Spirit is as unpredictable as the blowing of the wind (John 3:8) and that God chose to save the would-be believers before the foundations of the world (Ephesians 1:4). After all, John 3:16 says that those who believe in him will not perish but have eternal life. That's a very SELECT group of people, for, obviously, not everyone will believe in him. Lastly, as to your question "How many in the world will respond to his love?", I say again that that depends on whether God chooses us to receive his message. After all, in 1 Corinthians 2:14, Paul writes: "But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned." In this passage, Paul tells us that unless one has been regenerated by God's Spirit, and is thus able to put their faith in Jesus, they CANNOT understand the things of God. He says something similar earlier in chapter 1 verse 18, where he says: "For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." To the unregenerated man, God's word and his messages are FOOLISHNESS. In essence, we CANNOT respond to his love on our own. We HAVE to be regenerated with God's Spirit. I tell you all these things in love, not spite. Calvinism gets such a bad rap among Christians when they don't realize that Calvinism IS the gospel. It gives God all the glory and praise that he rightly deserves. It crushes your pride and arrogance and leaves you wondering why God would choose to save someone as wretched as you. Non-Calvinists make the mistake of believing that that is a prideful statement---believing you have been chosen by God---while they, at the same time, believe that their salvation depends on something THEY do (such as praying something like the Sinner's Prayer [which is totally nonsense, by the way], or thinking that their good works will save them). THAT sounds prideful to me. To get back to the original point, we, as former sinners with wretched hearts (Jeremiah 17:9) and who have lived in unrighteousness and not seeking after God (Romans 3:11), are INCAPABLE of choosing God by our own will. That is all HIS doing. Joy and peace be with you all! Amen! 🙏
How do you practice love for someone whom is constantly hostile towards you, abusive and maligns you??! How do you practice The love of Christ towards them? I do pray for them and forgive them but i cant have a relationship with them. Is that still the love of Christ?
Please keep your writing up a little longer to read please and to write down in my study.I use this in my own Bible teaching I can't finish writing down before it gone.Thank you.Enjoying your Bible teaching.
Pastor Gary thank you for providing your Bible studies. A friend of mine introduced me to your studies because at this point I wasn't feeling fed enough; I appreciate your service & style of teaching. Could someone please tell me what version of the Bible is used in these teachings?
Good teaching. I don’t believe Adam was beside her and I don’t think he heard the conversation! Adam was with her in the Garden that’s where God placed them. Where else is Adam going to be, who else is Eve going to be with. Eve was deceived and Adam was punished because he listen to his wife. Not the serpent! My wife is with me in my town but she’s not by my side all the time!
GOD I PRAISE YOU AND I LOVE YOU❤ HELP ME TO OVERCOME THE FLESH AND THIS ANXIETY DEPRESSION AND ADDICTIONS TO SUBOXONE CIGARETTES SUGAR AND SHOPPING… I am really STRUGGLING FATHER😢
Hey JF, Martin Luther encouraged people with these words, “ A bird might fly over your head; that doesn’t mean you should allow it to nest in your hair.” (paraphrased) James 4:7 - Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. You might have to tell him ‘No. Go!’ a few times, but if you stand firm, he eventually stops coming around so often. And God has given us His Holy Spirit; you CAN resist! 1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has taken you but such as man can bear. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but He will, with the temptation, also make the way of escape- that you may be able to endure it. Shalom.
@@grgustafson3777 Thank you for your encouragement. The fight is diffucult but i know God is greater than me or my problems. It has been a long journey back to God. If I may ask please pray for my health.
