Yes the solid disk does work much better for backflushing but a bit more tasking with having to swap out with the filter basket on portafilter. The rubber disks do work well as long as they are seated correctly to start with. The auto flush feature starts with next trim levels up from Classe 5 with the Classe 7 and up. Clearly I didn't have backflush rubber disk seated correctly on this video, so there was a little leak through. Shot this on the fly one handed for the absent owners.. I will need to replace with a higher quality one which I have. Thanks for all your good feedback and questions.

I think this machine has auto (back flushing) cleaning.
The water was coming out of the portafilter, that's not what I understand as backflushing!
