Between his solo work, session work, Genesis work, guest vocals on other peoples songs Phil ruled the 80’s. But still considered himself a drummer first. What an amazing talent.
Two of the best musical talents ever. The true sign of God given talent when you’re singing with basically a piano. Phil Collins is just the total package and hardest working musician to grace us.
Phil Collins is such a massive legend that he performed in London on 13th July and and then flew to US for the performances you see with Eric Clapton. Phil is a hero! May he get all the strength in the universe!
I think you wrote "ego" wrong, it's not spelled "legend" :) Come on, I love Phil, but that was some stupid shit, and surely even he would agree now. What's heroic about taking a Concorde flight?
Amazing talents. One drummer playing the piano and one bassist playing guitar. Both flawless in front of some 20% of the global population of the time.
Class act. Great song but also check out "Miami Vice Long, long way to go" for a long, lingering gut-wrenching scene. Phil s' unique talents contributed greatly to many episodes of this iconic TV series from the 80s.
Yes Campers, this is called pure music talent, a piano and guitar plus 2 voices THATS IT No washing , crappy techno or computerized anything God given talent
This was done just eight days after my 13th birthday in 1985. These two helped define the sound of the 80's, and they are two of my favorite performers. I remember it featuring in the MIAMI VICE episode "Sons And Lovers" (season 2).
I was only six, so I didn't get to go to this. But I watched it live on our local channel because I live right across the bridge from Philly. A lot of people I knew got to go though. It was amazing, and it was some of the best music to ever be released in the past century. Some of the greatest bands and musicians as well.
Two legends ❤ I'm 22 and the first time I heard this song I was like, wait is that sting? He's not really credited in the title so I was excited to find out they collaborated (I'm a new fan of both lmao)
Do it again For the world peace, for all human made in equal, world environmental sustainable, raise all consciousness of caring, peace, not war, not fighting, and not selfish act..
Siempre serán iconos del Rock con sus letra;canciones y su forma de darlo todo en el escenario y saber tocar varios instrumentos; solo queda decirle gracias por llevar el rock a muchos países del mundo.(Sting and Phil )
What I didn't know until I read Phils auto biog was that him and Sting struck up a bit of a friendship when they met at the recording of band-aid in '84 (during which Phil was recording No Jacket Req just down the road hence Sting singing on this track and Take Me Home) and Sting asked Phil to help him record some demo's for The Dream Of The Blue Turtles at Phil's home studio... I'd like to hear those..
My thoughts on this (after trying to collect EVERY bit of Live Aid Footage over the years) is that the trust don't think enough people would buy it. We have to remember that the BBC recorded the Wembley concert on analog 1" video tape (Called D2 I think). This was basically 480p Resolution. The clips the trust upload here , are 1080p (Blu Ray Res,but not BR quality) , but appear to to be rather crudely up scaled to 1080p. Only relatively recently , the Ai Technology has become available to upscale 480p to 1080p with almost no quality loss. Hopefully one day , they will use this new technology to produce a Blu Ray of the whole concert. Or at least put real 1080p footage on line with the 5.1 audio soundtrack we know they have. We all live in hope.
The Live Aid DVD is a travesty! Its all out of order and leaves out alot of amazing performances. I don't know who compiled it, but they did a terrible job. Thank goodness there is so much more footage on youtube!
@@JTRocks4Ever well, it largely had to do with music rights. footage that wasn't good and restored at the time. plus, there were 2 acts who refused to be on the dvd. one of them was led zeppelin and for very good reason.
@@JTRocks4Ever Yeah , the only good thing about it was that it did give us the Vital Wembley performances in DVD quality and 5.1 Audio , which do upscale quite well with the new software. But your right , it was literally "thrown together " with little thought. I hate how they faded our the last 30 secs of U2s set..
Como estamos que mayor verdad como pasamos por la vida los días vuelve amanece todos los días los pajaritos canta igual no pasan lo días pasamos nosotros❤

Branford Marsalis deserves credit here as well. His added flavor to the songs he preformed with them is really beautiful.
So true!
Absolutely!!
Played on many of Sting's albums
This is what LIVE MUSIC should be

You know Phil is off key. God must have been drunk at live aids
❤ yes
No autotune. Pure natural talent
Exactly. When life and music was better lol.
I wouldnt say life was better, but i cant argue that the music was indeed.@@johnnyenglish9622

Amazing talents.
One drummer playing the piano and one bassist playing guitar. Both flawless in front of some 20% of the global population of the time.
Because they are extremely talented musicians. Ibdon't expect this from ordinary musicians.
Sting actually hit a few duff notes after the first chorus. 😊
Example 1:53 sting is a half tone off. Still good performance

Doesn't get more 80s than that! I see the Miami Vice episode in my head.
Phil is the only artist I can think of , who's voice sounds like another instrument playing. Amazing tone..
Extremely underrated song period!! 2 of my idols
Phil Collins may be the best live singer of all time. It always sounds like it could be a studio recording.
❤ awesome
Up there with George Michael
His old band mate Peter Gabriel isn't half bad either. Even at 73 Peter still has it.
Look kids, this is called talent
Such a great song.., and played with not their instruments..
Excellent! Played from their hearts ❤❤ and souls
Love it Sir, Ur so right!
And Real Music. 🎼🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️❤️
A call to action.@@KitKat-1975
Legend. This song is the best.
❤ one of the
A piano, saxophone, and electric guitar. I love that it made the song more alluring.
Two icons performing a great song together at an epic event. Pretty powerful stuff from back in the day.
Icons are religious symbols. For f!@# sake
This song is so beautifully haunting. Loved seeing Sting and Phil doing it live!
Two of my 80s heroes in one haunting song? A massive yes PLS!
This video never gets old.
Exactly
I got goosebumps when Phil performed this song at his concert I went to in 1997! Truly a legendary man and performer!
Class act. Great song but also check out "Miami Vice Long, long way to go" for a long, lingering gut-wrenching scene. Phil s' unique talents contributed greatly to many episodes of this iconic TV series from the 80s.
💯
Two great musicians together on a stage. Also, Branford Marsalis playing on saxophone very nicely.😊

Phil is the best live singer all over the world! Hopefully he ever life...
Branford Marsalis adds a nice touch to this live version. Man what talent on stage.
I will always remember this Live Aid performance and of course Miami Vice
Auch heute noch ein toller Song.....Gänsehaut!!!! 2 großartige Musiker!!!!
First time I ever seen Phil playing keyboard! Wow
He played piano often in his recordings. He was as good at piano as he was at drums. :)
Absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️❤️😮
Earth’s vibrational scale was at its highest peak 1985 to 1986. Positive collective consciousness thoughts worldwide.

Das waren noch echte Musiker! Zwei der Besten! ❤❤❤❤ So hat Live-Musik zu klingen.......🙏🙏
Awesome performance, awesome song. With no lip synching either.
Is truly bad when music from 1986 is better than music in 2024 and 2025.
This man's songs from the 80s gives me chills 👌🏿🔥
Genius
Complete masterpiece . . . I get total body chills and goosebumps within the first 30 seconds of this song always. Xox
Sir, you are the definition of 'Hauntingly Familure' and will remain so❤
And his hairstyle. Unfogettable🎧
This is what you call talent
Phil Collins is a true inspiring legend for me
Two of the best voices in music of the past forty years! Two of the best musicians ever.

For Ukraine and Israel.

They sound awesome together … luv this song!
Every song Phil made is a classic.. every song..all hits..can't believe it just hit me now but yea
