Love the content I've watched more then a few of your vids! One thing I would like to ask is why no base layer ( mustard ) before the rub? I've never tried without but I feel like they really old the rub with the base. Also would like to see the bite take place to see how the meat pulls from the bone lol great stuff man
Thanks for the great question, you really dont need a base. I have always done it this way with no issues. I will have to smoke some ribs so that I can show the bite. Thanks again for watching.
As per manual for Pit Boss Smoker...The "P" SET Button is used to select one of the eight temperature fine tunings. Use this feature to change the "P" setting to accommodate to your cooking style and cooking environment, as preferred. With a short push of the recessed button, the setting increases from P0 to P7, then repeats. Adjustments are best made when the Temperature Control Dial is set to Smoke, which allows for manual control of the pellet feed system. Default setting is "P4".
It is very good on chicken n pork, for me not so much on beef but they now make a brisket rub and that one I love on beef. They sell then at Sam's club and Walmart has a few as well. Thanks for watching!
Impressive I have to say! That's a pretty fast cook….. and it seems to work for you! I'm a just water spray guy too these days! Only spray at the beginning of cooks to get the smoke to stick….after that I let it rock! You are correct!…….just want to steam and not braise!!! To much liquid in your pan or wrap, will braise and all the juices in the meat will be pulled out and you'll end up with dry meat. It's like eating slow cooker food………a bunch of liquid and dry ass meat! LLLLLL Smoke On!!! \m/

If I am not mistaken you can find beef short ribs in your area, those are great also you just have to cook them longer. Let me know what kind of ribs you find and if I can find them here I will do a video on them . Thanks.
