Dad and I watch The Carol Burnett Show when I was young and we never laughed so hard! That is what real comedy was. Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were the best !!!
Tim by himself was a freaking comedy genius. He was unreal! Harvey by himself was just so unbelievably talented! Together they were just out of this world! They had absolutely no peers, and they could do no wrong when they were together. They'll never be another pair like these two. Thank God for TH-cam so will never forget them❤❤❤❤
I saw this as a kid. When he said, "That's not ice cream, that's mashed potatoes." I lost it. The concept of him struggling to scoop hard ice cream which turned out to be soft mash potatoes totally killed me.
When Harvey said it was a Rush, I didn't expect another stamp and ink pad to come out, and to slowly stamp the order Rush... hilarious! Good clean fun without bathroom or gutter language. Also, I noticed that Tim was more intent than usual to make Harvey lose it, which happened several times in this sketch, loved it! Even from behind you could tell Harvey was losing it as his shoulders shook in laughter. Great stuff!
I used to watch this every Saturday night, when I was babysitting. It was so funny- there are no variety shows anymore, like the Sonny and Cher show, Carol Burnett. And it’s clean humor.
Gotta love Tim for his natural comedic talents ! Notice how he doesn't have to swear or denigrate someone else for a cheap laugh. Takes alot of hard work to achieve achieve that level. There's others that have this gift- Jonathon Winters, heck even Jim Carrey
I know they can't read this but I owe them a thank you for all the laughs they brought me. Watching Harvey laugh made me wake my wife in my own fits of stupidity.
Wish we had tv like this today.I would enjoy staying home with my mother and watch her laugh..good times..we have200 channels now and nothing worth watching
Well sadly today, you can't have any type of "family" show without trying to push some political or social agendas. If I see any TV show that remotely tries to push political agendas, transgenderism, homosexuality, or any type of distorted/perverted morality, then I turn it off right then and there. I'm tired of Hollywood trying to subliminally brainwash society via TV with how THEY think you should live your life. What was great back then is that even though most of the cast members from The Carol Burnett Show and Starting Night Live were staunch liberals, they didn't try and push their political views or opinions on the viewer's. They just wanted to make you laugh and entertain you....which is the way it should ALWAYS be!
RIP Tim Conway we lost a comedic legend. He always made me laugh, I watched the Carol Burnett show every week. Me and my mom and we would laugh our asses off. This type of comedy never gets old
Tim Conway was a delightfully wicked terror, for sure. Every time he was on camera with Harvey, he would spare no effort to destroy the man's control. And the longer Harvey held back his giggling and laughing fits, the harder Tim would hammer at him until he finally broke, and when he did, he'd be on the verge of tears. This show is ageless, classic comedic gold.
I know it's a year later now, but even reading your post about the dynamic between these brilliant comedians, brought me to tear. Still missing Tim, R.I.P. , but his sense of humor was certainly handed down to his son, Tim, Jr. who I have been listening to on the radio for over 10 years. Currently on 640KFIAM in Los Angeles on the I-Heart radio network.
I don't mind the "filthy" part as long as it's funny ("We're the Millers" and "Clerks" come to mind). But so much of what passes for comedy these days isn't funny. I'm a late Gen-Xer and I'm beginning to think that my generation was the last to have have a sense of humor.
@@BassPlayerSusan As much as I've grown tired of "Millennial" bashing, I can see your point. Too many people these days are under the impression that comedy needs to be "edgy" in order to be funny, not realizing that humor needs to have both heart AND brains in order to work to its fullest extent. Even George Carlin offered his audiences a clean routine or two on the Ed Sullivan Show before going off and doing his own thing, foul language and all, elsewhere.
Two of the best comedians EVER. Saw them years ago in Fort Myers. Did a sketch of the "oldest man" running the train station (I think). As soon as Tim's "oldest man's voice" was heard off-stage, the audience came unglued. Best part was Tim trying (and succeeding) to crack Harvey up.
They never could keep a straight face with each other and the rest of the cast couldn't either. If they were with Tim in the sketch it was hard enough not to laugh.
