It's great when something really cool has a purpose, like that tiny swing-wing VTOL. And the swing-wings have multiple purposes! I've heard setting SAS to radial-out helps with landing VTOLs. People build a 2nd control point into KSP helicopters for that purpose, but the little VTOL doesn't need another. This morning, I saw matroshka rockets. This evening, matroshka planes. 😂The rocket was an SSTO designed to launch huge space station arms -- 55m long & 130t. Its payload bay was a cylinder all the way down the center. The ideal test payload, a bit longer and heavier to give some margin, was another rocket. Nice naming scheme. Eve is an easy place to design planes for. My little Eve Bee has tiny props which just-about worked on Kerbin, but they're fine on Eve. Its wings, conversely, are pro'ly larger than they need to be, but it works so that doesn't matter. In-person, you get to see it over a longer time in which you're looking around however you like. I found a large & fairly flat part of Eve's surface was around 1km altitude. Fun to play and fun to watch! :D
Trajectories is good when you're actually properly maintaining an angle. I've managed to write a whole KOS script that takes my shuttle (that has no atmo propulsion) all the way from orbit to terminal guidance on the runway line with it and land a space shuttle in RO with the help of MechJeb to maintain the planned trajectory, both of those things extremely difficult to straight up impossible without Tr.
Yeah that's definitely my fault for not having an actually reentry angle to hold (other than dead prograde) rather than Trajectories fault. That's truly impressive work with the shuttle though, wow!

Well, if you're flying manually (counting AA FBW as manually too), maintaining a constant angle for Tr to work properly is probably more work than it's worth if you already have a good instinct on how the planes will fly, so I understand that their kinda useless for you, but it's not their fault.

And the silver & black on the second plane reminds me of my old LRv1 Javelin in Destiny 1. It was just a “common” quality ship, but it looked better than every other ship in the game!

The resemblance was unintentional, but has me really wanting to make a proper SR-71 🤔 As for the planes you mentioned 👆 I’m hoping to make some cool real life aircraft once we get started with colonies later on, since I might need something like a 747 to fly cargo between bases. That’s the hope at least!
I reckon you need more blue in your TFUX color balance. I love this series though, dont mind me I have PTSD from hours of changing TFUX sliders.. again.. and again... and again...

Could you try to get a plane onto another planet to build a base and How would you deal with that? Could you make a plane with rocket engines or is that not allowed? There’s a lot of questions that I have.
Everything that launches from kerbin or needs to go into an atmosphere must be an aircraft of some kind BUT I’d really like to stay as close to 100% aircraft as possible. Rocket engines are needed in most situations so those are allowed. And for building bases a plane will just be used to deliver normal base parts down to the surface :)

I use CKAN it’s really really easy to use once you have it installed and there are a few good tutorials on it (it also has the nice feature where you make lists like this into a mod pack and download them all at once!)

I believe the tech tree on here is mostly normal, until you get to the modded parts that is (if it’s in the mod pack it’s probably a dependency of something else as I don’t remember installing it)
Should work, if the heli stage could get you up to a really good altitude where maybe a NERV or efficient vacuum engine could take over that’d be awesome (maybe some issues with the rotors overheating once going hypersonic though)
@@smooneychad but you see what if for the rotors you use the trick where heat sheild produce insane amounts of lift and nearly no drag so they dont over heat (ofcourse unless it isnt possible to do anymore) btw your series has inspired me to got for a ksp run where im only ever in first person
You may need to download TURD if you don't have it already, all lazy painter does is make it a lot easier to use TURD and doesn't actually paint things itself. Hope that helps! :D

I believe ReStock has a patch that adds a version of landing legs without springs, might be useful to prevent sliding in the future

the maneuver nodes on astrogator are more for getting the initial lineup and then you tweak it yourself to get the encounter that you want.
This is a really cool series. I struggle with spaceplanes but I kinda want to do my own version of this run now. Keep it up man.

With trajectories I think your problem is it’s calculating the re-entry at retrograde when your doing prograde

In real life NASA does actually use Airplanes such as the MQ-1 Mosquito and used to use the Gulfstream 5 and legendary 747.
Also Jeb's Airplane might be the Kerbal equivalent of the SR-71 Blackbird just with Modified engines so they can be used outside Kerbins Atmosphere.

To remove the quicksave min altitude you just have to dig into your settings file for it and set it to zero
