Sorry my eyes are uneven today! My right eye has a mini crease but the same technique can be used either way (black shadow can be slightly thicker for small creases). Hopefully it helps with both eyelid types. :)

Thank you for being so committed to monolid tutorials! I have monolids and I was always insecure about eye makeup before I started watching your videos. :)
thank you for your monolid tutorials! i watch beauty gurus without monolids and it's kind of discouraging when starting out in makeup because it doesn't work on my eye shape. you make it fun and beautiful. thanks jen! :)
@SpaRklyAngeLglaM Yup, that's right! Since our lashes point downward, the upper waterline isn't ever exposed so it's not necessary to line it. Waterlining isn't super healthy for the eyes anyway, so I recommend skipping it if your eyes are sensitive. ;)
@KitMeow100 I plan on doing a "basics" video on how to curl lashes, particularly those with stubborn Asian-type lashes that point straight down like mine!
@hellokitty89881 "Puffy eyes" really depends on where you place the metallic color. I tend to only put metallics/shimmery colors on the center of my lid and contour that with a matte shadow. This way, the contrast actually makes your eyes look more defined instead of puffy. ;)
@olivinetea I would use actual liner thinly, then use an eyeshadow in brown or charcoal grey to smudge it into the overlapped/hooded area. That way, the line isn't as harsh but you still get a defined lower lash line effect.
Hey Jen, I just wanted to say THAT I'M SO GLAD I FOUND YOU. I recently came across your videos (2 days ago?) and really found that your looks are much more suitable and wearable for me as I have monolids. I love Michelle Phan and xteeener, but I always found that their looks were hard to achieve with my eyes. SO THANK YOU for opening the doors for my monolids. I'M SO EXCITED TO TRY YOUR LOOKS!!
Thanks so much for the tutorial Jen! I started getting into makeup when I found your tutorials about a year and a half ago, because before then I didn't believe I could do anything to make my monolidded eyes look more "alive." I love this understated yet sophisticated look, and a lot of the times I also go out with nothing but a lip balm on my lips haha
Thanks I been waiting for an everyday monolid tutorial ! This video made my day, and many others I'm sure. Please continue making monolid tutorials !
Thank you so much, Jen! It's so difficult to find monolid tutorials; it's so nice to finally have someone cater to my needs.
Nice tutorial! I have uneven eyelids with one having a deep monolid and the other a slightly lesser one. This helps even it out a lot! I love your tutorials and gorgeous as always :)
Yay for monolid videos! Your tutorials are the only ones that truly help me and my monolids :)
As a makeup lover I love seeing techniques for applying makeup on different eye shapes. Thanks for sharing! :)
@RicePuddingStuff I have been a long-time fan of Covergirl Lash Exact Waterproof mascara. It's not too fancy but it holds curls and gives a great, clean, everyday look for monolidders.
@liumatilda408 Yes, you definitely can! Just bring the black shadow on the inner half of the eyelid up to the crease line and the rest can stay the same. :)
Ive always hated my monolids... it has been so hard for me to do make up because i dont have the crease. You inspire me to not go and do surgery for double lids like my other korean friends. You make me believe that i can be/ do so much more with monolids and now I love my monolids more than ever. PLZ do more of these tutorial. u r my godddd
Your videos have helped me with how I wear make-up, because I'm half-black and half-korean, so I have part of a double eyelid, but then it becomes like a monolid towards my nose and this is for both my eyes. I'm lucky that they are the same for both eyes, but it was really frustrating when I first started wearing eye makeup. Your videos have been such great help with finding techniques to deal with my eyes.
thanks so much for the monolid tutorials... a lot of gurus dont seem to have expertise in this area. this is a great look.. i am definitely going to try it!
I love the way you apply your eye makeup on. I been using gel liner for a while but still it won't last long so I try to put black eye shadow on top of my liner like you said and it looks great and smooth, last longer. Thanks to you.
So glad I found your page! I've been searching forever to try and find someone with similar eyes.. you're amazing!
Ahhhh I'm so happy I subscribed to your channel.I have mono lids and love to experiment with makeup but I'm always so insecure that it won't look as well as people with lids lol.. definately going to try my own creation of this . So uhh thanks a lot!!
This is so helpful! I have very similar eyes to you and find it a little difficult applying eyeshadow. Thanks so much!!
Thanks for the video! I can't believe it took me this long to discover you on youtube! As a 'mono-lidder' I cannot wait for more videos like this one. xoxo
Yay for another monolid tutorial! I really enjoy them!
I don't have monolids but slightly hooded eyelids & this tutorial looks awesome. I think I'll try it today!!
I'm so glad you took off those lashes! A lot of asians including me keke, always wore false lashes to make eyes look bigger and give a crease but you look cuter without them!
Your videos are really useful and pratical for girls who don't have crease...We are lucky to have you keep posting all these tutorial :-)
Thank you sooo much. I am monolids too and have tried using eyelid to make a crease but it looked weird, so this helped a lot
This tutorial is really helpful since I have monolids. Btw I love your nail polish!
This is so pretty Jen!
love this look. would like to see another tutorial using some of the darker shades of the infalliable shadows like the purple or dark green.
This turned out so good I love it! I also have both Naked palettes so this was perfect for me!
The sweater actually matches your lip color, good job!
This is a very good look for everyday wear. Although, I was using brown/neutral colors for my eyelids and there are times I look like I don't get enough sleep....maybe I applied too much color. I have very pale skin. I have monolids too so your tutorials really help.
Jen can you do a natural no makeup makeup everyday look for monolidders?
Hey Jenn, I love your videos and I have a monolids too. Only thing is that mine are hooded. Do you have any advice on how to work with that?
there aren't many monolid tutorials, so thank you for your tutorial!! please record more monolid tutorials!
great look as always, Jen!
Is there anyway I could send you a picture of my eye so I know what eyeshape I am? Everyone says I'm a mix between two and it confuses me so much.
I watched this to prepare to do makeup on my boyfriend haha. But then I tried it on myself and even though I have double eyelids it looks goooood. Versatile look!
So beautiful. I absolutely love this and I'm so excited to try it out.
i ABSOLUTELLY
Thank you for this tutorials. I struggle how to do shadows on monolids for day to day. Plz do more videos for monolids.
Most useful tutorial I've come across for my lids!!
Monolid eyes can be very beautiful, i don't have full on monolid eyes but i find that monolidded eyes are easier to work with because it just gives you a flat and even space to apply makeup.
Could you do a video on the difference between gel, cream, and clay eyeliners? Is one better then the rest or does it depend on what you're using it for?
I absolutely live watching your videos. I will try this look tomorrow I hope It will work! Thank you!
omg seriously i do almost the same for my everyday go-to-work look! the only difference is that instead of using a peachy brown shade i use dark brown as the base color -- i really love that soft smokey cat eye effect, subtle but still glamorous
Yay, more monolid tutorials please Jen! :)
This looks beautiful!
I'm not a monolid, but it inspires me for a beautiful look too :)
Thank you for your great tutorials Jen :)
Aaaw you're so cheerful. It's a delight watching you, even if I don't come here for the tips haha
This is one of my favorite tutorials!
Hey Jen, I have double eyelids, sort of like Xteeener's, but a little more prominent and wide, BUT NOT VERY BIG AT ALL. CAN i still do this same look?
hey jenn this is a lil off topic but missha has a great liquid eyeliner that completely waterproof. it goes on like paint and takes a little longer to dry but it will not budge; not even if you rubbing your eyes. it comes off easily with make up remover is its in metallic blue packaging. check it out, great for monolids.
Thanks for the tutorial! This will be a great look for a night out, well for me anyways, since I don't wear a lot of makeup to begin with. Can't wait to try it soon!
Thank you for this vid! Do you know how to get rid of puffiness? I have monolids and I can't use sparkly eyeshadow or it just makes them look puffier. I tried a lot of eye cream but they don't seem to be very effective
jen! i love your everyday makeup looks... do you think you could do a day makeup look but using non-neutral colors (like purples, blues etc) thanks
hi i was just wondering what you think about the nars concealer stick you used...i've been looking around for reviews but i haven't really found any on it... thanks!
thank you for making these tutorials it's really helped me like my eyes the way they are :)
Yeah, monolid tutorial! Plus, I can do the entire look now that I have the UD palette!
Hi- does this look work for hooded mono lids? Even mono lids people vary in the amount of skin on top of the lid. Mine are not as thin or flat as your but it's not really that hooded either. Anyway, would love to know your thoughts on this. Thanks!
have you tried wet n wild liquid eyeliner (not waterproof)? which one lasts longer? i use the liquid eyeliner. never tried the gel yet.
i love your monolid tutorials!
I personally have that palet, it's pretty good and you can learn with it, i my personal opinion i love naked 2 because the colors are easy to play with them,
i think you can use the glitter you're used to o you love, i don't think it's about the brand but the color.
Urban decay are pretty good or maybe you can try look with estee lauder or loreal has good ones
yay for monolids!! lol i love how you sang "it's a monolid look"! lol i bet u have a nice singing voice!
Hey Jen what do you think of d.j.v. beautenizer Fiberwig waterproof mascara? It holds my curl, extends well with a few coats and separates my lashes nicely. My only complaint is it doesn't make my lashes look thicker, just longer.
Love how we can actually see exactly what you're doing! thanks!
I have monolid and sometimes one of my eye gets a crease, not sure why it does that, but do you know of a quick fix for this?
i love these videos! please do more like this for monolids :) also, can you do a video on lashes? you always seem to pick the best lashes for your eyeshape. they look so natural and give your eyes such flair, that it's the exact style i'd like to try out. would you say that your eyes are intense monolid kind with a lot of fat on your lids, or a weak one so you get a crease now and then when you're tired? thanks for a great video!
I love the introduction! The music is adorable, and I love your tutorials (:
I got the same problem here! So I always apply the double eyelid tape on the monolid and it looks a bit more balance!
Love this tutorial as I too have monolids ❤ thank you so much!
I have monolids but my eyelids can also become greasy sometimes....do you have any recommendations on a good eyeliner that won't fad over time for eye lids like mine?
i have also found that sometimes when my right eye is a monolid, using gel eyeliner actually is hard. because the eyeliner gets smeared onto my eyelid and everything becomes smudged...
hey! please do a videofor those who have a monolid and a double eyelid! i really like what you did in this video, its awesome!!!
What's the small pointed brush you're using to smudge the eyeliner? Looks like a small sized brush I need for my monolids.
i love you for doing this monolid look
Hey Jen, What camera do you use in your videos??
This is a great look! You are very pretty! Great video!
i love your monolid tutorials!!!!!!
@WeirdSnowball I have the same problem too. I always curl my lashes before applying any eye makeup.
i am going to buy baby lips lip balm tomorrow. which color is the one you used? i really want that one!!
just have a quick question.where i can find the brush for the gel liner??thanks
Hi Jen,
I just have a quick question... I have monolids, and when I did one of your demonstration for everyday makeup for monolids, I tried it, but the eyeliner doesn't really show. I tried your technique of smudging the liner out a little, but I always mess up.. ^^;; How do you pull up the eyeliner to show and make your eyes bigger? (Kind of like the tutorial you did for the New Years Sparkle) I can't seem to perfect the thick, winged eyeliner to show and make your eyes bigger. Help?
Hi Jen, can you show me how you remove your makeup? Because I find it difficult to remove the colour on my bottom lash line and/or waterline. I'm a monolid too. Thank you!
Dear Jen
u should! i got the naked 2 palette the other day and it's amazing...very pigmented and for UD, it's a pretty good deal for 12 good quality eyeshadows and a brush!!
Jen, I love your videos and how you stay true to yourself unlike the other makeup artists I've followed throughout the years. Please continue to utilize correct grammar and sound intelligent. Too many times have other youtubers I've subscribed to become completely materialistic or ditzy.
Omg I love this tutorial!!! Pls do more monolid tutorials
are you starting to get double eyelids??
like what i mean is my mom was a mono eyelid person when she was young but she started getting double eyelids when she was around 20 something
Hi can you let us know what brush you are using @3.38 (the small brush)? thanks
:) yay love the tutorial. I still need to go buy the loreal fallible eyeshadows :) can't wait to try on my lids
whats the difference between a normal eyelashes curler and the shu uemura one? because its very expansive and i want if it is worth it.. ^^
So glad you did this tutorial. It's gorgeous and you look great. : )
how do you do that? when ever i put makeup on my eyes look REALLY SMALL. especially when i do a cat i. in the video you eyes look so extended. and how do you keep you eye from smudging? i tend to tear up at lot when i yawn and stuff and it ALWAYS smudge the waterline :( help?
I love all your vids!!! So gorgeous!
what kind of camera and photo editor do you used for your photos?
@frmheadtotoe would this still look nice on people with a double lid? You look so great here!
for the covergirl mascara ,r u using the purple one or the orange one??i found them so wet that my weight my lashes down....
yay! thanks jen!!! ii'm Asian and i have double eyelids, but once in a while my eyes will switch to mono lids so i can wear this look when my eyes change!!
