Asymmetrical eyes (or any features of the body for that matter) are quite common. The reason being is that we develop one side at a time in the womb. An example would be the one side of the face is formed. Then the other and then onwards to growth and further development. I hope this was an interesting fact. :)
My left eye has always been monolid then I forced it to be double eyelid. It worked for few months but it turns monolid again Meanwhile my right eye is double eyelid and I want to make it monolid

I'm so confused, how did your eyelids suddenly become so symmetrical looking after 7:03? Just before that it still looked asymmetrical while applying the eyeliner, but then transitioned to after it seems the eyelids evened out somehow... that is really confusing me. :( Like it looks as if the monolid suddenly became double lidded, or did you have to draw a line over the monolid?
As I mentioned in the video, I have thin eyelids and when my lashes are curled (or when I wear false lashes), it will sometimes push my lid up and “create” a crease - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t and I have no control over when it happens or if it lasts. I didn’t do anything other than what was explicitly show in the video but I know it can seem confusing so I put a text explanation directly in the clip. On days when my eyelids don’t crease, these tips still make them seem more symmetrical.

It's funny; my mom tried to pressure me as a kid to get the eyelid surgery, but I am okay and happy with the way I look. Also, like you I learned to modify how I do my makeup pretty game changing. The only thing I still struggle with is doing a winged liner but I dunno if thats because of my eyes or I just need more practice. Thanks for this awesome tutorial.
After watching this, I think I use a very similar technique of applying my eye makeup, but just never realized why, haha. For example I always avoid the dark eyeshadow on the eyelid and kinda do use the horizontal gradient but mostly because I can use the darker eyeshadow to contour and "fake" the crease line.
I am thankful there are vids like this. I plan on doing some marketing vids and I am very self conscious about my eyelids. I have eyelid ptosis on my left side and when I take selfies it's very noticeable. I will definitely take these tips and try em out.

I suppose the world is a big place but as of now I'm still the only person I've ever met with such features which makes makeup hard to explain to my friends. I would also suggest trying to curl your eye lashes as well (great to do with all eye shapes especially with monolids) this will open up the eyes and can make a difference!! PBunnieP yes, I know. that's why I've never tried eyeshadow until now cause I didn't know how to make it look more even, and couldn't find videos for people like us. I had my makeup done by a pro for an event and they used the same technique as you!

I have uneven eyes like yours so this was super helpful. Thank you! One thing I struggle with is that my eyeliner (gel and liquid types) on the monolid side is always smudging/creasing/disappearing. I have very oily lids so even with good eye primer (UD, NARS), the friction caused by eye movement with the monolid just rubs the liner off, and I've tried all the most longwearing ones like Stila Stay All Day, UD 24/7, MJ Highliner, and KVD Tattoo Liner and Ink Liner). Some last a little longer than others but none lasts all day. Do you have any tips for this? I love the cat eye look but just can't figure out how to make it last...

Hi just stumbling upon this 3 years later. But have u tried wearing strip lashes to even out your eyes? I have uneven monolids, and whenever I put strip lashes on it gives my eyes double eyelids and evens out the size of my eyes.
Yes I do and it often helps. For the video I didn't wear them as many people wanted a "enhancement free" tutorial if they didn't want to wear falsies :)

i have a double eyelid and my left eyelid i used to ise eyelid tape because i have monolids and now it went up and my epicanthic fold isn't on my left eye and i got upset about that i thought it'll go away and it never did
You can adjust your eyeliner to match the difference in eye size. But it’s probably easier to adjust your eyeshadow to even things out using the darker shade. At the end of the day, it’s trial and practice to match your own unique features!
Both my eyes have crease but one is more defined than the other. The other one is much more like a monolid honestly, 80% sure. Gonna watch this tutorial and hope it’ll work for me 😭

Winged liner isn't easy! And you'll need to adjust the shape / line slightly depending on your own eyes. Just takes a lot of practice :)
