These days I go to TH-cam when I have a task to do that I don’t do very often, like clean my oven. So I’ve just watch the video and now I’m ready to go and clean my oven. Thank you for the video.

Put the grille on top of the tray, then spray both at the same time. Less spray wasted 👍🏻

One would have thought that that was obvious :-) better still is to get a large clear industrial strength bin liner and place all trays rack and grills inside along with a generous dose of the chosen cleaner.

Just a small tip, large items like the rack can be washed in the shower room. It's even nicer as your shower can put out very hot water. Also if the hose is long enough you can rinse right near the drain.

      @Wilson84KS 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Yep, I do it in the bathtub, then I don't need to be careful not to make anything wet that shouldn't be and the shower head is just perfect to rinse it, everything that is big I clean like that.

That's why you should always go with the big single base sink. I rented an apartment while I was remodeling a home I bought from a hoarder. The apartment had the usual double bay sink. Never going back to that! You don't need a special sink bay to dry dishes if you simply have a dish drying rack.

My tip is if you shut the oven door try to stuff some kitchen roll along the gap at the bottom of the door where it meets the oven, as the gunk runs down the glass when closed makes a mess. Tbh I think it’s better if you leave the door flat, it bakes on better

I'm pretty sure the instructions say to rinse at the end. You don't want all those harsh chemicals in there when you go to cook in it. I'd also recommend to keep gloves on the whole time, gloves come in different sizes so buy the one closest to your hand size. Another tip is to put some paper towels in the bottom gap of the door as some will escape and drip onto the floor but if your worried about that getting missed then I recommend putting some newspaper down on the floor in front of your oven. I liked the scrubbing idea in the oven itself, I normally just wipe it, I do scrub the pieces that come out though. Lastly, always read the directions on the back of the can and happy cleaning to some great music!! 😊

You should never take off chemicals, especially those coming from a can that says poison, with just dry paper towels. You need to get a bucket of hot water and a microfiber cloth and wipe the chemicals off. You don't want to start your oven with the residual chemicals in there

Remember if you have used chemicals, make sure you switch the oven on in a well vented room to burn off the chemicals before you next use it, since THEY WILL ALWAYS SMELL.

I would avoid using a metal scraper on the glass door as that can scratch the glass. A nylon non-scratch scourer is much safer. Avoid steel wool, as that can scratch enamelled surfaces. Allow the degreasing chemical time to do its work to soften the burnt-on food and fat.

Hi Bill - I live in England and have been sadly remiss in keeping the oven clean. I did have a good old go about a year or more ago but gave up as it was just not coming clean.
It appears really ingrained and although I did it three times which was not cheap and exactly as you have done the inside top was no better so I gave up.
I can only guess the chemicals you can use are more powerful than what we are allowed to use.
Selleys comes up on Amazon but it will not allow me to purchase it.
All we get is stuff like Oven Pride or Oven Brite which are useless. Would you advise using some sort of scraper on the ceiling of the oven? Any advice mate?
    Regards Chris

I can send it to you if you want. I live in Australia. It's AUD $5 here from Mitre10 and $4.98 from Bunnings. Try purchasing from those two places first, and if you can't get it, let me know and I will send it to you.

Hi Deanna - Thankyou so much for the kind offer but I just received a small switch from Australia and it has cost me near on twenty pounds in English money, had I known I would not have purchased. So I can only imagine what that would cost. Is it really as good as it appears to be though?
      Regards Chris

@@Chris-BognorRegis Wowsers! Thats AUD $40! Crazy expensive. Maybe you paid Australian Post costs? There are cheaper postage options like DNT which might be half price. I feel like they are trying to make everyone poor and force a depression.
I bought some last week to try it... I haven't tested it out yet though.

Selleys is great but I personally prefer Easy Off oven cleaner which I have used for years as I found that the nozzle kept playing up for me and I had to press really hard for the Selleys one. The red one takes 5 mins and the purple one takes 30 mins but the 30 min one is fumeless.

I have a mini oven with elements at the bottom I’m guessing I should cover then with foil but I’m leaning towards getting rid of it. Honestly the tine and energy is it worth it, especially when you aren’t well.
