  • I am obsessed with ceramics but I don’t have the space to start another hobby so today I’m using what I already have to try to recreate the ceramic glaze effect using Aqua Cast Eco Resin and Epoxy Resin.

Wow, gorgeous! What an incredible idea. As I was watching my husband said, "oh you're watching a ceramic video?" Then I showed him what you did. So, there you have it they really do look like ceramic! And wonky is a universal term, I think. LOL Our family says woppy-jawed for messed up projects.🤪

You’ve out-done yourself Louise! These are so cool! And wonky is ok and sometimes preferred. You’ve definitely perfected the art of making lemonade out of lemons. I look forward to your videos and your quirky sense of humor. I wish you lived closer!

The jars are beautiful! I did wheel throwing pottery for a number of years, loads of fun! I would suggest using a rental space or membership in a studio before buying or renovating for a studio. And have in a building and not in your home due to dust and dirt in general Aqua cast is much cleaner LOL!

All three of those are really wonderful! I love the way the Aquacast texture looks, especially on the second one. I think the third one is my favorite. I really love those stripes! Those colors look perfect together!

Louise, this is *BRILLIANT!* Choosing the Aqua Cast Texture, it really does resemble pottery. I would *LOVE* throwing on a wheel, too, but all I ever did in High School was build pots; slab and coil, mainly. A wheel makes a heckuva mess. I recommend learning throwing OUT of doors, with a garden hose hooked up, close by! (not joking). Wear a complete covering apron, including your hair! Wearing a Tyvek suit would not come amiss, especially for slobs like me. 😅
Such a GREAT experiment to see what works, Lou! Your solutions for making lemonade are wonderful, and...they worked beautifully! I LOVE it, and I love ALL of them! I would purchase any or all of them, happily! 💕😍
Yeah, we say wonky, for sure. I love the word! "Squiffy" is another one.
*A TIP?:* Don't know if this would help, but it *might* work to prevent a too-fast drip, to put in a teeny-tiny amount of regular, clear school glue in the resin, like Daniel Cooper does. It doesn't seem to affect the curing time, nor clarity. Also, I'd try using only 1/2 oz of each color of resin and see if that keeps it from being too much, along with the tiny bit of glue. I REALLY hope you do more of this!
Maybe experiment with the glue/resin on a few solid surface strips (of something) to see how long to wait before standing the item up to allow for artistic drip?

Those are beautiful! I especially love number 3: I like the idea of painting with acrylic or epoxy or other medium.
And, oh, no! Another product for me to look into buying: I've never seen a cup turner before, and it looks sweet. My only personal obstacle is that a lot of my molds have narrow openings, like little vases and such. So now I'm off to a rabbit hole of seeing if there's a product that can accommodate small little openings.
