The Brownville Food Pantry For Deer feeds approximately 400 pounds per day of native oats (local) to help sustain the white-tailed deer population through rough winters here in central Maine. Feeding happens daily around 09: 00 (9 AM) Eastern Standard Time starting December 16 and continues to the beginning of April. These are wild deer and this is not a deer farm. Some of the deer have been coming for more than 10 years including a piebald deer with more white markings than a normal white-tailed deer. At times there are 100 to 200 deer at the pantry. Wild turkeys also come and eat the native oats along side the deer. At times you may see up to 100 wild turkeys at once. There is no Chronic Wasting Disease, or CWD in wild deer in Maine. Please dont complain about it in chat. These deer are all very healthy and there has never been any disease spread among these deer. This "Yarding" of deer happens in Maine every winter, even when not being fed.

Two more months before the Brownsville feeding begins. Can't wait! This buck is truly handsome. Look at the way he carries himself and his posture. Powerful stance as if he is quietly demanding respect and consideration.
Where did these bigger bucks like this go though? The biggest one I’ve seen lately is 8-9 pointer that has a little split coming off one of his horns I think he’s the biggest there right now

It's a deer block by Purina with their “Power Nugget” supplement in it to help support the deer’s nutritional requirement. It contains grains, molasses, vitamins, and minerals that the deer need.
Is there a chance that you guys could add a couple SALT LICKS to the pantry menu?
RUMINANTS ABSOLUTELY LOVE SALT!!!!!!!!! My that would add a fine appetizer to
the dinner. Just a suggestion!
I recorded this cam from a few thousand miles away - in London - I have no influence on the care of the deer. Have a look in the Description box, that's info from the "hosts" :)

In Minnesota, our DNR is concerned about the transmission of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) from the contact of noses and saliva transmission, I believe. Is this not an concern in Maine?
Hi there, Bill 🙂 I'm only a viewer like you, I record live wildlife cams and post clips of interest for a small group over here in the UK osprey off-season, just to keep them "entertained". I have copied Brownville's info into the Description box under the video - I do wish that TH-cam would make that more prominenet, I am often asked questions that are already answered there. Anyway, you should be reassured, and thank you for watching my video - which I see has been given a thumbs-down by someone, I really must develop a thicker skin 😉
What cameras do you have taking the videos??
I have nothing to do with these cams, I merely downloaded the live streams from their TH-cam channel for a couple of days and went thru and edited out a few "interesting" clips. I've posted a link in the Description above, you'll see they have a few live cams.
The cameras are reolink 410 models.
