I have had this product for almost a year. It’s very well made. The only problem I have found is that the road vibration causes it to loosen. My suggestion is to tighten it up very tight. Once I tightened it up very tight I haven’t had any problems. Great video

Perhaps a drop of Loctite on the thread to firmly secure it? provided you won't be planning on changing seats for some time
I wouldn’t use loctite for this application. I’d be super concerned that you wouldn’t be able to get it out when you needed to. I have a Heritage Softail and if the battery goes bad and I loctite the seatlox I’d be up the river without a paddle. But thanks for the suggestion.
I don't use loctite. I wrape some Teflon tape on the threads and this helps. Never vibrated loose. Try it.

Needle nose gets that Amazon lock screw right off easy! I just bought this R.B. lock very smart little lock. $80 but better $80 than being stuck somewhere without a seat that cost $800 or more. And a long ride home on a battery! If they really want it! Its hard to stop them, but at events, people will pick the easy targets over the hard ones
yes it is...its a great investment whether you have stock or a custom seat..even the stock seats are pricey if you have to replace it. And youre right...if they want it they will get it..seen it happen.

Ive heard of thieves stealing tailgates from pickups, it seems anything not locked is prime for theft

hey try...no it doesnt..when you lock it down it is tight, plus there is a rubber gasket in there so no vibrations. Its one the best things I have bought for my bikes.

So these are made for HD but I know he told me on the phone he had some for Indians...Give Bob a call and see what he has or find out the thread pitch..it may just work on your bike and it has the same thread. Hes a cool dude and will answer all your questions.

Do you have a specific product in mind for securing your detachable tour pack so it doesn't get stolen and a locking fuel lid? I bought these locks for my seat and saddle bags just wondering on the others. Thanks for your time and awesome videos.
Harley makes a great docking hardware lock and locking fuel cap. I normally dont just buy everything HD but these two items you can get keyed to your bike.

I've seen these type of locks open with a plastic pen, hell I've opened a small lock box that i owned that had a lock like this with a bic plastic pen. I'm wondering if that's an issue. Can yall test that?

never seen it but im sure there are ways to do it...any lock can be picked...if thats the case though you better change your lid locks and your tour pack locks as well from HD..they are the same style tumbler locks.
Years ago I was in San Diego, CA went to the local mall and when I came out of the mall my seat was gone...

Great video and products. Does anyone know if they make them compatible with C&C solo seats? I am looking through their website but can't tell. When I get a chance I'll reach out to them but hopefully someone knows.
I havent seen one for the solo seat..I have the cvo solo seat and was looking as well.
@@sikbaggers I emailed them and they do have one for the standard touring solo seat that attaches with the two bolts. They also said if the C&C bracket bolt is 1/4 20 bolt they have one that will fit. I am away this week and will check the C&C bolt when I get back home.

yes, unfortunatly the world we live in if someone wants your seat they will take it...nothing is bullet proof but I would roll the dice on this one over a screw. Its sad we even have to worry about it to be honest.
Interesting that vast majority of metric bikes have seats on key from factory. And needless to say, it's ignition key that unlocks the seat, convenience. Just saying...

Plus you deductible for ins is probably more that the cost of the lock. $90 is not that much to protect your seat investment. Just saying.
I completely understand your reserve on the price but even with a 100 dollar deductible, and a long ride home with no seat under you and then the struggle with insurance to replace your seat...I'll get the lock and not deal with any of that.

At least the looser left his ripped seat laying on the ground next to the dudes bike that he stole it from...the real kicker is that place was packed and no one seen shit? Come on...the same day my buddy got side swiped on his street glide while it was parked and scratched the entire side of the bag and once again..no one seen anything. Lots of shitty people in this world..definitely not the same place I grew up
