- The Chameleon Twist games are some of my personal favorite games from the Nintendo 64 era and I wanted to talk about both games, Chameleon Twist 1 and Chameleon Twist 2, why I love them, what they are about and why you should give them a try if you haven't.

These games really were the perfect bite size rental experiences, but man I wish the second game actually meaningfully expanded on the first game instead of once again being a tiny set of linear levels picked from a level select
when I was 5, half a year or so before the Gamecube came out, I got an N64, and my choices of quasi-pack-in game from the store my parents bought it from were _Chameleon Twist_ and _Blast Corps_
I chose _Chameleon Twist._ I played through it a couple times before I got a Gamecube a few years later, and never knew it got a sequel until very recently. I'm glad I'm not the only one with core memories of this weird, mostly-forgotten little oddity
I've been watching your videos the last few days and enjoying them a lot.... but Chameleon Twist!? LETS GO!! Absolutely incredible games, thanks for highlighting them and bringing back the rush of nostalgia.

I absolutely had this game as a kid! I never really got into the story mode, but my sister and I would spend HOURS knocking each other off of platforms in the multiplayer!! So much fun!
I only grew up playing Chameleon Twist 2 on the N64 I fell in love with it I would love a remaster of it considering the Developer is still around still I'm optimistic.
Same, I remember wondering what Chameleon Twist 1 was like.
I played the first one in my childhood, I still remember the funny tongue noise when you reach the length limit

chameleon twist was so good i'm glad you covered it!! if you ever cover rocket robot on wheels (another severely underrated n64 classic) i will explode with excitement

Ah man, loved these games since I rented them as a kid! Ive always preferred the first game, gameplay wise, because I feel 2s levels dragged on a bit too long, but theyre both fantastic! The Japan System Supply meow into the title music in the first game has been stuck in my head for my entire life!
Ah, I fucking loved this games as a kid. Still fun to play, and I keep a few songs in my music playlists, too

Wait.... This wasnt just a fever dream i had?!?! I had never remembered the name of these games and i only played it once because of blockbuster but they never carried the game after that one time!! I thought i just dreamt it up!
CT2 was my first N64 game! I loved it so much so im super happy to see it get some love!
I never played the first "Chameleon Twist". I also don't understand what the developers were going for with the character designs in that game. At least in the sequel the chameleons looked like chameleons.
I rented "Chameleon Twist 2" as a kid. At the time I didn't like the game since it was short and lacked substance. As an adult though, I can appreciate that it had unique mechanic ideas. I picked up an N54 cartridge awhile back. I'm hoping there's either an official release or a recompiled version which makes it more accessible.
oh man, i always wanted to play these games! i never had a chance. i would stare at articles and ads in tips&tricks, gamefan, and other magazines longingly imagining how fun they must be.
a darned shame these (and mystical ninja) aren't on that Nintendo Switch online thing.
Holy crap we have the same experience with these games I used to rent them so god damn much at blockbuster a long with a couple other titles but these were forever staples and I wish I owned copies today
I played the first game so much when i was a kid.i absolutely loved it at the time this and tonic tunic were my favorite games of this genre on my 64 even though now that I'm older i know bomberman hero is the best thing of that genre during that time.
Also you are so right i miss games just having a simple premise for you to just sit down and play.

Used to rent those 2 a lot when I was kid, but never beat the second game.
I haven’t played the second game but if I’m not mistaken, the first world of it is the one from the credits of the first game? I know the first game showed off an area you never go to but I think it looked similar.

How come no one remembers this game? I must be there only one of my friends that owned this game. Never played the first one. I’m gonna buy them so my kids can play them
Chameleon Twist was (from what i remember) the very first game i ever played
(Along Shadows of the Empire also on N64)
Its very near and dear to my heart, i would always play it to the point where now i can mostly 100% complete it
But its still one of my favorite games all time with one of the most memorable ost's
Yes I would love like a Limited Run Collectors of both games remastered for the Switch
To this day i dont have and have never played the 2nd game sadly
And i will always remember the credits music making me both satisfied and cry at the same time
The only thing I don't like about the second game is how they changed the character designs outside Japan. If there's a rom hack to revert them while kerping the game in English I'd love it.

Did you know in the Japanese Version of Chameleon Twist 2 the chameleon design is the same look as the first game

#Nintendo Switch is a magical port system that makes all games feel cool and you can add gyro controls....why hasn't Nintendo just ported all the n64 games.....
