- The Fairly OddParents did it again, they made another video game. Much like I teased in the last video, today, we are taking a look at the next Fairly OddParents game, The Fairly OddParents: Shadow Showdown and see how the world of the show was translated to a video game a second time as well as what improvements or downgrades there are .

I played it on ps2 primarily. I REALLY enjoyed it. I nearly completed it as a kid
Yes! This was the one my sister and I played over and over and over again! It's definitely one of my favorites.
I played this as a kid. Got it from a rental store that charged you 2 euros for the weekend. I loved it, and honestly many games from this era were amazing rentals because I could finish them all in 1 weekend. Some amazing fond memories from my childhood that I can really think and look back on that just simply won't ever be a thing anymore. It makes them all the more special, it's really unlike a TV show. TV shows always exist, it's just a matter of which one was airing during someone's childhood, but everyone will be able to say they had a childhood TV show.
I wonder if the Ape boss fight was a DK show reference with the coconut for Diddy
I remember this game.
So much fun to play back then.
I need to find a way to play this today and see if it still holds up in my mind.

If you want to play a good Fairly Oddparents game... play this one, Shadow Showdown is the good game

I used to play this game so much, but the MAIN thing I remember is all the unlockable music/music videos from the actual show you could get.
Honestly, top tier stuff for this kind of game based on a show. Shiny Teeth and Me and the one Halloween song were stuck in my head for years.
I loved this game as a kid though I found the first game to be a lot more fun since each level felt more like its own episode of the show where as shadow showdown felt like playing through a movie.
Shadow Showdown was my second favourite game as a kid and I still love it now.
FYI my first favourite game as a kid was and still is The Simpsons Hit and Run.
Y'know what was really cool? This Fairly Odd Parents flash game where you'd change your form and have different powers. There was a Jedi one, one with a guitar kinda like Nevan in DMC3, pretty sure a Matrix themed one too. Can't remember the name but it was dope af

Oh man I used to love this game as a kid! I remember being 7 or 8 and not being able to finish the fairy world level until my friend’s older brother helped me out. After that I remember making it my mission to finish their game! Had no idea this was a sequel!
Me too! If it wasn't for my cousin I would be stuck there for a long time lol
I remember playing this when I was like 5(?) Ish and was really afraid for some reason against the jester boss in fairy world 😅
I remember renting this from blockbuster with my cousins back in the day. I was disappointed when I couldn’t recognize the game from the first video, then when I saw the Fairy World (specifically the card bridge) in this video, I KNEW it was this game

I loved this game as a child. Going Ghost was one of my favorite things as it scratched my love of DP and scaring the shit out if people is something ive always loved in real life. Fairy World was fun to fix and being a pinball was something my siblings and i did all the time for the rush of rolling everywhere and the awesome music that accompanied it. Over all we have awesome memories of this game. Im glad you reviewed it.

this game looks incredibly good for 2004 and the crimson chin world reminds me of patrick's world from creature of the krusty krab, esp artstyle wise

this is one of those pieces of media that will always be deeply nostalgic for me because I played it when I was 5 and will never revisit it. even if it was as good as I remember it being, I think it's worth leaving it a pleasant memory. thanks for the shot of nostalgia as always. :)
This was Definitely one of my favorite games as a kid. Kinda felt like it sorta touched on the movie with the muffin as well which was a nice touch had some cool similarities there, but Wish there was a follow-up and now itll probably not happen
Oh hey, Shadow Showdown. I loved this one as a kid. Well I played I’m pretty sure the PC release. It was more 2D in aesthetic and mainly used an overhead isometric point of view.
I played this game when I was younger and it is a lot better than Breaking Da Rules. There is also a multiplayer mode but it's just random mini games but back then I thought they were fun
That was my favorite game growing up, watching this video fills me with nostalgia, it was the first game I ever completed, now I'll have to take the dust out of my PS2 to play it again
I played for the first time using fairy magic to grant every wish needs to be used responsibly but better be careful

Shadow Showdown is my favorite Fairly OddParents game and my top favorite Nickelodeon game! I grew up with this one. It’s got a special place in my heart, which, I guess, is strange to feel for a licensed game.
For being as basic as it is, it’s full of charm and I enjoy its design structure more than Breakin’ Da Rules. I always found it kinda funny how the title of the game basically spoils the final battle since you never see or hear of The Shadow until the mid-point of the game. The game’s title and cover art are what initially drew me to it when I was a child. It just looked very cool.

are you going to cover the gba versions? I had the gba version of this game and I found the pixel graphics incredibly charming. I don't remember much of the plot but I think it was different. and it also had this horrible way of saving your game where you had to write down or remember codes. I don't remember much otherwise other than never being able to beat it

Somehow i missed out on all these Nick games as a kid. No BFBB no Nicktoons Unite (until later on). This and that last Fairly Oddparents game look pretty ok. They at least have that licensed game cheese, that's for sure

Now we have THQ Nordic who made Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated and the newest one Cosmic Shake. It would be cool if they could somehow remake these Fairly Odd Parents games. I would definitely buy it.

I think some more, maybe modern games based on the Danny Phantom games would be super cool. I think they are a couple old ones and I wouldn’t mind seeing you go over them.

So i was feeling in the mood to buy this game cause i remember playing it and was feeling nostalgic and ordered it off amazon. The day it arrived is the same day this video was posted and i've been watching you content for a while so i thought it was a pretty neat coincidence. Love all the stuff you do, could you ever cover Taz wanted? It was a game I played a couple times at my cousin's when visiting them in Alaska over the summer growing up.
I remember being really disapponted as a kid when I got the PC version and the screenshots on the back were from the console game. Thought it was gonna be a 3d platformer, but instead I got a minigame collection.
One of the few games my brother and I repeatedly beat and replayed on the ps2! I LOVED this game! This was a great trip down memory lane!

I just finished playing this game and I agree it's pretty entertaining. A 7/10 in my book at least. Good review.
Timmy's mom and dad were Asses in this game, seriously, they see Timmy orders stuff and just assumes it's ok to take it, though I know Vicky is also at fault too

OMG i loved this game with all my heart when i was younger, it was sooooooo much better than Breakin' Da Rules it's astonishing. I didn't even learned english back then, it was fun and tough at the same time lol

Wait a minute....they made another game besides shadows showdown!? I only remember this one on my gamecube!!!
Even though this had less levels, I still see this game as the better option over Breakin’ Da Rules. The wishes helped flesh out the levels better and provide a better experience. And the overarching story felt more prevalent and expanded more of the show’s lore with the king and queen.
I think my one issue is With the fairly odd parents games is that they use Vicki and Mr. Crocker as enemies in the game but not the bully Francis from school. I wish they did so sounds like a wasted opportunity. Maybe if they got the chance to do a third game it would have put him in.

This was my favorite game of the fairly odd parents growing up I got so close to finishing it but never had the chance to and probably never will still now as an adult as I don't own it anymore edit I think did finish this but don't remember off my head if I did or not after seeing that cutscene about crash nebula

so i have a fun little story about this game. this game led to me discovering my favorite game of all time Tales of Symphonia
when blockbuster was a thing my brother and i each rented 1 game. i chose this one and my brother chose tales of symphonia. i was having fun with this game but then got to this one boss i just could not beat and got frustrated. so i decided to check out the one my brother rented. i really enjoyed it and bought it a few years later and it's now my favorite game.
As much as I like these weird licensed games, I'd really like your honest thoughts on more established gaming-exclusive franchises.

can we talk about how good the cell shading graphics are for a game from like 2004? I bought this game in ukraine and was excited to play it as a kid: Unfortenatly i couldnt play it on my ps2, dont know why, maybe because the ps2 was regionblocked?

I think this series (and Danny Phantom) should rather have sprites like Paper Mario than 3D models as the art style just doesn't work in 3D..! Even the toys look just off..!
They definitely don't look great in 3D but I like how the characters have outlines like in the show in this game.

I never really got to beat this game as a kid because one of the block puzzles in the haunted mansion would glitch me and have me stuck inside the box unable to escape.
