Thank you so much for this nostalgic day in Dublin. I was fortunate to travel to Dublin in 2007 with my son, daughter, and future son-in-law. We also got to experience the Jameson brewery. I have wonderful pictures of my son all around the city at many of the same sites you saw. Unfortunately he passed in 2010 but these memories were some of the best times together.
So great to watch your reports about Ireland. Really hope you were welcomed and enjoyed it! You were our inspiration for Alaska and we just returned from a fabulous cruise to Alaska on crown princess! To thank you for your advice and wish we could have met you in Dublin 😊
Hello from Ireland, really interested to see your vlog on my home city. I used to work in Dun Laoghaire so I know it well. It is Dublin, just not Dublin city centre, its a suburb and postal addresses have Co Dublin (County Dublin) First off though, the only people who say Top of The Morning are American tourists, Irish people dont say that, sorry :) The train you took is called The DART - Dublin Area Rapid Transport and its a commuter train linking South County Dublin and North County Dublin with Dublin City Centre. Its not normally that crowded, you just ended up having your port day on the worst day possible due to the Womans Mini Marathon event. This event is on once a year , on the first Sunday of June. I know that was out of your control, but if you had chosen not to go into Dublin City Centre you would have had a much nicer day. The area you got off the train at Pearse St and Merrion Square is the main area for the event, as you saw. If you had known about the event you could have checked the route online and avoided that area. You should have gone into Starbucks, as both the coffee menu and food items are different. Its a mistake many Americans make, not going into the chains like McDonalds, Starbucks etc as all the international ones outside America have a local menu, so even though its the same type of food, you get things that are not available in America. The Molly Malone statue is one of the most popular busking / street entertainment spots due to all the tourists. The song about her is Dublins unofficial anthem and while Molly Malone is not a real person, the song is based on the lives of poor Dublin women of the 17th century. So glad you did the Jamison Tour and not the stereotypical Guinness tour. I feel so sorry for you, trying to see my city with the crowds of the Marathon event, I am impressed by how much you got around though and using the Luas.
Lol, maybe don't recommend multinational chain stores to people travelling abroad? Fine if they choose to go there themselves, but you're doing a mad disservice to independent Irish businesses. I'm glad they didn't go in.
What a treat you got being able to see a Pete Best interview. That would have been something I'd look forward to as a fan of the Beatles. And of course, pineapple does not belong on pizza. Jay will never learn...
You have had amazing weather on this trip. Hope to do this cruise in the near future. My ancestors were from Guernsey, Yorkshire and Northern Ireland. Thanks for a great tour thus far
I’ll be there in at 2wks. From the Regal Princess as well. Taking a different excursion when there though. Gonna be kinda fun for me to go to Dublin Ireland, as I lived in its sister city. Dublin, California for 17yrs. So, I’m going home in a way.
I’ve been deliberating for ages about how to communicate the pronunciation of Keogh. So it’s one single syllable, not two, and imagine “Coe” (like Sebastian Coe), or “Koh”, but with a short guttural “y” after the “c” sound - kyoe. Not kuh-yoe or keh-yoe - all one fluid sound, kyoe!!! I went to Trinity and the Buttery was our student canteen - fed me for many years, but not somewhere I’d recommend. 😂😂 So glad you had lovely weather, but sorry you encountered the Women’s Mini Marathon! I’d like to do the Jameson Distillery myself! (Oh and bravo on the Dún Laoghaire pronunciation!! 👏🏻)
We had the pleasure of touring the Guiness and Jameson venues in January 2020. Guiness was very much a "theme park" vibe and was not really worth the price. However, the tour finishes at the very top with AMAZING views of Dublin; it is rather crowded up there though. The Jameson tour was AWESOME! Leave extra time and spending cash for some stellar Jameson cocktails in the lobby bar; spring for the private whiskey tasting; there was only one other couple in our tasting and you can take your photos at Old Man Jameson's desk. He convenient had a tap behind his desk to serve guests! Also, do purchase a bottle of the Distillery Edition Jameson. They will customize a label and inside that wonderful bottle is utterly sublime whiskey. It is only for sale there and is worth the hassle of toting it home!!!
@@parodeejay OOOPPPPPs sorry I didn't see the caption. Hydrochephalus makes it hard to multi task. to busy listening to info and jokes I sometimes miss the captions. at least that's my excuse😆.
I’m really enjoying your videos. We’re going on the regal at the end of August and looking forward to it very much. The sound quality on your videos is great. What kind of microphone do you use? Also, we don’t hear a ton of background noise that drowns out speech. Great job. I also like that you do a review of the food that you eat. I haven’t watched all the videos yet, but was just wondering if you ever eat at the buffet. When we were on the Royal last year to Alaska, we were not overly impressed with the food at either the restaurants or the buffet. We did love the international café, though. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Thankee! We just use the built-in mic from our camera, ha ha… nothing special. We do buffet every now and then, but not too often for dinner. The MDR menus always lure us in!! :P
We just did Venezia, and those vlogs will be up soon. We’ve got Luminosa and Firenze scheduled. We have Jubilee penciled in but haven’t announced that one just yet until we solidify that plan. :D
Your face when getting your picture made with the statue is priceless!
Jay looked super happy at Jamison - lol! What a blast!

I'm so sorry for your loss, nice that this brought you good memories of him and adventures.

Nice video, i haven’t explored yet the whole Ireland, been to where you went except Jameson and the Dun Leery cruise.
Looooove watching you guys! Especially love your presentation of the foods you get.
Great video! Thanks!
Great job again good to see how about joining us for an April Asia cruise next year on royal Caribbean❤
Looks like a beautiful day.
We just took this cruise. Our dates was 6/25/23. This was a dream come true. We had a wonderful time!!
Love Jameson...
Another great video! I feel like I'm right there with you guys....
Wow, that was so very interesting. Thank you guys!!!!❤❤❤
Jay chickens out at the Tart with the Cart
Enjoyed the sites in Dublin, especially the tour of Jameson distillery. Your photos were beautiful. See you in Liverpool! 😀
Brilliant pronunciation Dee of Dun Laoire!!!.
Before you saw the sign explaining how to say it!!.
I’ll be there in at 2wks. From the Regal Princess as well. Taking a different excursion when there though.

You all should come visit us in Kentucky and take a bourbon tour!! See where those barrels Jameson uses start out. 🥃
MMmmmmmmm Jameson. YUM
Jay have you seen the Jim Beam commercial where they sing Sweet Caroline? Can’t help but think of you whenever I see it.😂
Jay's eyes at Molly Malone!😂😂
Great Video!
If you’re ever in Dublin again, I highly recommend taking the tour of Kilmainham Gaol. Also check out Queen of Tarts cafe.
I loved Kilmainham it was literally my favorite thing I did in Ireland.

I know lots of people that pronounce Keogh key-oh.
I love cruising but you only get a taste of cities in Europe. I always think if only I had one more day.
Next time Dee needs to photo the colorful Georgian doors
Looks like you had a great day in Dublin 🇮🇪
The smaller coins in Europe are cent so your Luas tram would have been 3 Euro and 40 cent 🚎

Hi Guys, Had Guernsey been canncelled. I was so looking forward to seeing that. I know it's tender. I'm a huge Les Miserable/ Victor hugo fan.
It was too windy for us to tender properly, sadly. We put a caption at the end of part one explaining what happened!! :P
@@parodeejay OOOPPPPPs sorry I didn't see the caption. Hydrochephalus makes it hard to multi task. to busy listening to info and jokes I sometimes miss the captions. at least that's my excuse😆.
Middleton Distillery makes Jameson Whiskey as well as many other Irish whiskeys that are only available in Ireland.
Did you convert your dollars to Euros in England before the cruise? Or can you exchange at guest services?
Keoghs is pronounced - K-yohs. Sometimes spelt Kehoes too. The potato company Keoghs make a really good potato chip (we call em crisps).
Jay's most comfortable sock...man your feet must've really hurt
I spotted Tony !
And Don

We did the Book of Kells. So many people that we didn’t see much
Good morning
I'm curious ... Would you say that the cruise line offers different food (in MDR and buffet) during a European cruise? Or is it mostly the same?
When you swirled it did it have "legs" like wines have?
I agree Dee, I am not a fan of ricotta in my calzone...
We did Guinness tour in Dublin, and Jameson in Midleton (Cork).
How did you get the appropriate currency for the train tickets?
We used a credit card to buy the tickets!! :D
Did you see news about a number of earthquakes and a volcano eruption in Iceland!
Were you near any of those areas during your trip there?
We did! I don’t think we got close to any of those particular areas though.
Guinness in Ireland is NOT Guinness in the U.S. My friend said only heathens drink it cold on draft or in cans/bottles.
Whaaa? How else is there… warm from the tap?! :P
You walked right around Temple Bar.. I think you saw more interesting things to be honest.. Temple Bar has become an expensive tourist trap...
I can play Irish whistle a bit.
Hey dee, when are you going on the new carnival ship
We just did Venezia, and those vlogs will be up soon. We’ve got Luminosa and Firenze scheduled. We have Jubilee penciled in but haven’t announced that one just yet until we solidify that plan. :D
Chapel Royale? Is that a church with cheese?😂
Do you record in 4K or 1080?
1080p. Our ol’ camera doesn’t support 4K, hah!! :D
@@parodeejay Well it looks really good 😊
I feel like maybe someone watches Good Mythical Morning
Yesssss!! :D
British Isles in Dublin???
First 🎉
Boy, was that castle small, like for leprechauns. We must be a gigantic generation‼️🤠
DING Dong: White sugar what are you using to record these vlogs
The book of KELLS is so much more then what you described. Please research more before you travel…Watch some Rick Steves.
Ireland isn't part of the british isles 👍 Ireland is an Irish Island 👍 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
I hate to tell you but it is part of the geographical area of The British Isles, it's not part of Great Britain though.
