One of my kids, and my 3yo grandkid, are in Kirkwall today while on a cruise. Nice video, so I can imagine what they might be seeing. I've been to Scotland twice, as far north as Inverness, but never to the Orkneys. I'm 1/4 Scottish, so my grandkid is only 1/16 a wee Scot, unless some Scottish blood arrived via another grandparent also.
Looks interesting, we would love a tour but they were all sold out when we tried to book a few months ago. Are there tours you can book from the local area?
My husband and I are doing a princess cruise in December for our honeymoon and we love watching your cruise videos!! So fun. Do you guys have a drink package when you cruise? Curious if it’s worth it.
On most cruise lines, we don’t bother. But with Princess, it includes internet and gratuities, so we typically get their plus package. Same with MSC, their package includes some bonuses, so we usually go for it when the price is right.
This is where your Princess British Isles cruise differed from mine. Ours did not go to the Orkney Islands or Kirkwall, so it was nice to see what was there.
Had Dee time traveled, she could have left and then came back at the exact second she left (you would not notice a difference) Dee you didn’t happen to see the Lotto numbers for the next draw during your time travel experience by chance???? :-) hehehehe
I thoroughly enjoyed your video logs of your British Isles cruise! So informative and entertaining. We are taking this cruise on Regal Princess in the fall and shall use some valuable tips learned from you!!

interesting, many of my relatives signed on with hudson bay company...first came over, got married to indigenous person, took his wife back to orkneys, his son came over with hbc, brought his wife and kids back to orkneys then his son came over with hbc and stayed (that is where my aboriginal heritage is from) but it makes me think there are many indigenous (canadians) still in the orkneys
I am really enjoying this series. I live in the UK 🇬🇧 and have been to a quite a few of the places you have been to. The cake you had is called bridal cake because that is what a slice of traditional wedding cake would be with the fruit cake, marzipan and royal icing.

I think some alternate dates offered Inverness/Invergordon instead, but we opted for the Orkney Islands!! :D
