    What a lovely bread, will definitely give it a go one day. Only problem I could see is that it may not last long enough for anyone else to try it...since the chef will snack it all down during the important 'taste stage'. :)

    Chetna, I love your suggestion about mixing the ingredients by hand to get the feel of the dough, then using the mixer to knead. Your finished dough was supple, just so beautiful! What is the benefit of using strong flour instead of plain (all purpose) flour?

    • @oxidosis
      @oxidosis 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Strong flour has a higher protein content meaning it'll be able to stretch better, which means you can have that supple dough. Strong flour is mostly a bread thing due to that high gluten content bread requires.

    • @FoodwithChetna
      @FoodwithChetna  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Best to use strong flour for bread because of the high gluten.

      Are you not able to get some bread flour from somewhere? if not then try with refined flour, though you wont get the same results as you need bread flour to make this.

    • @FoodwithChetna

      You should be able to add the yeast directly to the flour, does the yeast pack not mention anything, only because there is a lot of variety of dried yeast available out there.

    I have 2 questions -
    1. Why don't we add butter to the bread dough .. There's no fat in the dough
    2. I have an indian OTG, so while baking , do we keep both the bottom and top rods turned on for heat or just the bottom one ?
    Pls do reply as I'm super confused

    • @FoodwithChetna
      @FoodwithChetna  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ok so we dont need butter in the basic bread dough, whether you are making this or a loaf bread, it has no oil or butter in it. Secondly I don't know about the ovens in India so can't give you the correct advice about it. I would think you need a really hot oven for this so might need both top and bottom on but I have never used this oven.

    if you don't put the garlic on top, and just put oil does it taste like the pav you get in india to eat with pav bhaaji?

    • @FoodwithChetna
      @FoodwithChetna  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can make without garlic, if you want it like pav then you dont even need the oil in the end. Just make the pav and skip the last step of garlic and oil.
