    I recommend the motions neutralising shampoo for those looking for a good post-relaxer shampoo that shows colour. It is sulfate free and lathers pink, it's really good and leaves my hair quite soft. Thank you for the tips!

    I can definitely agree with all of these. I've just gone back to the creamy crack after 6 yrs of being natural and these tips came in dang handy. My stylist thankfully uses her hand to part, apply and smooth and it has indeed made such a big difference.

    Very helpful tips. And you’re correct... the neutralizing shampoos in the kits are way too small. I usually keep a separate large bottle of neutralizer on hand that does the color change. It’s very important. I wash my hair 3x... letting it sit for 5 minutes each time just to make sure I get all the chemicals out. Thanks again for sharing your wisdom with us. Much appreciated!

    This is a very good relaxer. I used Optimum years ago when I graduated at high school and my hair was down to my waist and thick. It also had little to no breakage unlike other relaxers. I had a chop last yr due to a smoothing treatment. Should have stayed using this relaxer. Might start bk using it by next year.

    I'm about to relax my natural hair. I've been using relaxers all my life, devil possessed me to do a big chop and its been the worst 2 years of my life with this natural hair nonsense. So I need to relax again 😑

      Hello. This literally had me laughing because I know the natural hair struggle. Tried it for a year and it was rough. Lol. I would DEFINITELY go with the optimum defy breakage relaxer. It is infused with ceramides to help strengthen the hair; as well a coconut oil to help retain moisture .... so it’s a win win for me. That said many people love the ORS relaxer. I’ve heard it doesn’t leave hair as dry as other relaxers. I still would go with optimum and take extra steps to make sure my hair remains moisturized. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching ❤️

    Have you had any dryness or stiffness with this relaxer? It seems great but.. Since it's no-lye, they're known to leave calcium deposits on the hair that cause those effects. If not, what chelating shampoo do you use?
    I was using hawaiian silky lye which was fine, then switched to motions lye for the last year which caused SO much breakage /shedding for me. So I'm considering this if I don't go back to hawaiian! But I've always used lye due to the dryness/ stiffness that can come with no-lye.

    Is it true that no-lye relaxers form calcium deposits onto hair, to the point where conditioners don't penatrate as well as they should?

    • @IannaYvonne
      @IannaYvonne  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hello! Thanks for watching ❤️No lye relaxers can lead to calcium build up. If you notice excessive dryness/brittleness this could be the case. If so a clarifying shampoo should help. I don’t have this issue( have never experienced it) and I’ve only ever used no lye relaxers. So I believe damage from calcium buildup is rare.
