Some recipes are deliciously simple and this Salad Nicoise from French Guy is one of those recipes. Using fresh and healthy ingredients, the colour, design and purity of flavour in this dish is what makes it such a winner.

Welp didn't think i'd see so much negativity on a salad recipe's comment section. Rock on guys, you're doing great.
Lol
The bloke gets everywhere and the prat wants to teach us older ones how to cook. I'm French, I know how to make great food thank you very much and that is why I can't stand him.
He's so goddamn french
One of my favorite salads in the summer. I'll have to try your version. Thanks!
Great salad for a summer day! Congratulations.

Never eaten artichokes raw. I live only a few hours from a big artichoke growing area and in season we can get the small ones so I will have to try. Your composed salad looks quite good.
amazing salad will try it today. I ate a version with boiled potato and was very good
chef alex is the best. his pizza series alone was worth subscribing to
I loved this video. Thank you for sharing.❤
Gotta love this guy
So satisfaying to watch how he is putting in order the food
Loved that "ping!" when the information button expanded xD
This looks beautiful and delicious! I love Alex's TH-cam channel as well.
My favorite salad is a Salade Bourginion with croutons and lardons. Got to know it in a little restaurant in Macon, called Le Lamartine, and it is to this day my most favorite _salade_ :)
Made this today! So tasty! Great salad recipe :)
this epoch is so sad, even the smallest effort is a mountain for many, and people always jump on the opportunity to critizise and sound smart on some puny details instead of encouraging people that are actually doing something with their life. Even more funny, when you corner them on their nasty attitude they say "I'm just a troll you fell for it" behind their safe screen. Useless no life never achieving haters.
Very Simple salad, Nice.
How I love french goodies! I've just started my own french baking channel! :)
Very colorful salad
Loved it! Good share!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
The first time I had Salad Nicoise we were in the Saint Thomas in a restaurant in the Ritz Carlton. It was the best salad I had ever eaten and the best snorkeling- in one day. I have tried to make it many times but never as well as they did in that restaurant.
Looks so good
love it!!!
Never seen a salade nicoise without lettuce. The first time I tried one was in Spain many years ago and I loved it. This looks too good to eat.
I get happy by just looking at this
C'est parfait!
Well done Alex!
Looks delicious! Cant wait to try it out :)
Go to the asylum
?
+mdtn88 it isn't delicious
me too...simple and delicious perfect for bussy people..salad on go for bussy people...
Looks very tasty!
Anchovies, yet no tuna? Your recipe also has some other rather unusual alternative ingredients but still looks very nice. I first ate Salade Nicoise while visiting Nice in 1995 and I still make it myself to this day!
I thought it always had both.
Good job
this guy is great
yum!!!
Oh my gosh!!! @frenchguycooking is on Jamie Oliver!!! So proud of him >.
I still haven't found the salad that will make me feel full
I am so happy
Why???
Cool recipe!, how long can I refrigerate this?
I love salad nicoise it is yellow like the sun.
i love how you pronounce "bellpepper". :)
How do you get boiled eggs without any cooking?
I would eat this whole plate, and will still hungry!
Under 301 club no longer exists! Thank god. Nice vid :D
YAY
delicious; as I live in the town, but some English who come to visit prefer a beer with a bowl of chips
One of my cooking teacher who always pretends she is a French by adding French words in her talks, one day taught me how to make "Nicole Salad". Way later on, a French guest at my restaurant ordered a "Nicoise Salad", and I actually said: "You mean Nicole salad"...*face slap myself*
Very funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Uau !!!
There no doubt. Us, French, all have the same accent when we speaks English haha. It's so easy to recognize when a French speak.
Fish is meat as well :P
But nice recipe, have to try it, thanks!
yesßsßssssssss more frenchguycooking pls:^)
Bravo! Very nice! And keto:)
Is that a plate or a lid
He is sooooo cute^-^
That looks delicious! I'd personally change out the anchovy for slices of cold Maltese sausage but that's just me!
I love his accent and the way he smiles makes me smile too ^_^
Zis eez ze very nicce zalad.
it looks like a pizza! 😻✨
👍🤗
"there is no cooking involved" Oh I forgot to buy hardboiled eggs
huhum, une vrai salade Niçoise c'est avec les vraies olives Niçoises hien ;-)
So just throw random shit into bowl and call it a salad. The End
Tia the definition of salad no
That's very literally what a salad is.
+Raelieous No salad to me has dressing.
magebotjz2 A salad doesn't need to have dressing. It's actually very, very common to have salads without dressing, or dressed in something simple like oil, vinegar or lemon juice (as seen in this video).
so put olive oil and done.
love your accent! =D
One of those pretty recipes that I don't actually want to eat. :-) Desolée!
add tuna and some potatoes (boiled doh...) and maybe some green beans, voila, dinner salad :D
cet accent!!! bravo pour le clin d'oeil subtil à la ville de Nice :)
I would love to see a recipe for a good cesar salad
Pretty sure Jamie did one or two before
oh u are right. thanks
MORE VIDEOS OF JAMIE COOKING PLEASE
U USE SOOO MANY ..I WANT SOME SIMPLE..
i donnu why i like him speaking English 😂😻
Doesn't this salad usually have capers and boiled potatoes as well?
He has such a cute accent
i actually liked it.Looks delicious and simple. But i am goin to pretend like i did not like and say something sarcasticly for the sake of being famous on youtube.I am also going to pretend like ''salad'' is much more different than this cause everybody in the comment section does that it seems.
I just came here to read the comments. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
It looks like a very interesting and tasty salad French Guy, but I bet many of your rather zealous and traditional countrymen would take severe umbrage about you calling it a Nicoise lol
no cooking involved, then there's the hardboiled egg. lol Looks nice though.
in french when you say meat you dont include fish !
Bonjour
it originited from the sauce of franche
He reminds me of a french Danny Sexbang.
Very French classic? It's basically Italian!
You're not all wrong. Nice is very close to Italy. Most signage in the city is in both italian and french. In fact, when Italy became a unified country, Nice voted in a referendum to become a French city instead of an Italian one.
You know Niçoise means from Nice right?
Either way it's a tasty salad. I had one the other day with a piece of slightly seared tuna steak on top, quails egg and some crunchy green beans and broad beans. It was fucking amazing
kameir
Yes exactly, but the origins of the salad are way older than the referendum, and it's a typical dish of the whole Nice-Genua area.
BigMugsChannel
Nice was inhabited by italians before becoming french, being part of the italian maritime republics of Genua and Pisa, it shared culture, cuisine language etc.
True, but it is all semantics. The chinese could say: "Pasta, classic Italian? It's basically Chinese!" :p
"Use extra care with the presentation" uses 5 gallon bucket lid as plate
Alex eisenbarth it does look like one lol
Help me guys what's the name of each ingredients of it???I need it now for our cookery class 😭😭😭
" no meat in the salad" Adds anchovies. lol
lol it is meat. you must be an idiot for not knowing that.. But please if its not meat what is it? A vegetable? A tree? maybe a flower?
you cant just say that its "protein" thats like saying bean is just protein.. not a bean
+Duckman Vegetarians don't eat meat, right? But they eat fish. So fish is fish and meat is meat. One comes from fish and the other from farm animals or I guess hunted animals. Of course we could argue that fish is still meat, I see your point BUT in many scenarios, especially in cooking / what people eat, fish is considered a separate thing from meat.
no vegetarians dont eat fish lol.. Those who do are "pescitarians" but they are not really vegetarians..As they still eat MEAT Alot of people think its not meat.. but it is haha
no matter what you guys say, its still meat.. YOU might not think its meat but it is..Scientifically speaking..:) saying that fish is not meat is like saying chicken aint meat becuse its chicken..
Yo people
A French speaking english!! How bizarr!!
First time I see a salad niçoise without tuna 😳
hello
You missed cutting the hard outer core from the tomatoes. Good video though.
I thought it is from the capital of Cyprus
Nicosia
great video! @cookingwithbrumby
Sans sel ni poivre ? Meme une cuillère à soupe de vinaigre
Nice is the most Italian city of France like Chinatown in New York City for China.
more eggs pls
He seasoned the plate by rubbing garlic on it... i dont even know what to say to that...
That really works, try to do it on a slice of bread or toast.
The bread or toast would take on the flavour of the garlic, I understand that. But this is a plate... :/
My mother did that all the time with any salad. The oil in the garlic adds garlic flavour without you biting into a chunk of raw garlic. Try it. You'll love it.
Whoah, what about the green beans and pre-cooked potatoes? ;-)
Two items - no potatoes and green bell peppers??!! I thought the list for this salad was fixed by Escoffier himself. Or at least by Julia.
The people of Nice scoff at Escoffier's version. If they could procure guns as easily as Americans, they would have shot both Julia child and Jacques Pepin for their versions. The "authentic" Nicoise apparently doesn't feature potatoes or bell peppers, it's just tomatoes, eggs, olives, anchovies and olive oil, sometimes maybe string beans. In my opinion, that's way too sparse.
For those that dislike the fibrous texture of tomatoes, you can remove the very centre of it to make it a little softer on the tooth - i.e. the white part. Just place a tomato piece on a flat end and cut straight down with your knife against the very edge of the core. You can also take a little more off towards the butt (idk what this is called, just the part where the green stem comes out of!) of the tomato to get rid of that bit too. Very fibrous, awful to chew.
+Ben Scott I don't think Jamie Oliver would appreciate my telling people to remove more of the tomato ;P But you can be impetuous if you like, I don't mind.
There are like 20 ingredients in there. Thats anything but a simple salad.
I think this guy might be French
"salad requires no cooking" - Adds boiled egg
"salad has no meat in it" - Adds anchovies
hahahaha
Where's the damn green beans?! Lol.
