Two years later, after I was not into Plotter…guess what…I am in love with my Plotter narrow and personal! And, going for the A5 in 2025. I just think it’s something that will come to you to use at a perfect time in your life. Some years ago I said “No”, now I can’t believe I ever said no! Thanks, you introduced me to this lovely company and that’s the magic of journaling. I am retired now, so maybe that is why I have the time to appreciate these gorgeous products. ❤
I've been waiting for this update Mark, 😄I am in the UK so could only look on as they won't ship here yet, however through some amazing person in Japan, I ordered the beige Pueblo in bible size and bought a shed load of inserts 😆 They are a fantastic little set up. Keeping it minimalist is exactly what these are designed for. You're right with the project folders being superb and hide what's inside as well. I use the envelope at the back for keeping some receipts and stuff in. Overall I am very impressed and humbled for the help I had to get one here. 🙏😄
I have the new jotter M5 and love using this for my daily carry. With the new M5 inserts, I use it as a daily todo list. I also use the bible (mainly for logging work tasks). I miss not being being able to carry everything in one notebook. The constraints sometimes frustrate me. It is a wonderful product. Enjoy learning how others use it. Great video.
I'm just now seeing this update! The to-do completion bars definitely resonated with me. I use my to-do lines for an overall small project within a project, if that makes sense. So the percentage boxes help me a lot visually.
I started to break my projects into phases and using the to do lines as ways to show levels of complete. It’s been helpful for me to decide when something is 1/2 done vs 3/4
Thanks for the review! I recently discovered this brand. The paper is amazing! Unfortunately I don't like rings and these notebooks don't change that opinion. I do appreciate the design and engineering that went into making these notebooks. I will definitely be following the brand to see what they come up with next.
Thank you for the link to the US site. I am old and have trouble reading the code fast enough. I finally did it after multiple tries. I’m happy to have refills but I couldn’t find the stabilizers to protect the leather but I gave my email so maybe I can get some help. I use Shop all the time to buy things and don’t have to use a code. Maybe it’s just the first time. It’s stressful.
I love the idea of the Plotter but, as you say, those 11mm rings are limiting. I do use something quite similar in personal size, also with 11mm rings, and I find the best way to use mine is simply as an "in-box", with several categories of "to do". Works well, with my self imposed limit of 25 sheets. In other words, one page out, before another page goes in. There's definitely a point where, as a left hander too, a binder system can become unwieldy. And for me, that limit is 25 pages. And, to be honest, that's a fairly large collection of "to do" tasks. Thanks for sharing.
@@markyourpages got the idea from someone who ran a high street store. She had a self imposed maximum for total customers, on busy days, with an assistant standing by the door.
I like the idea of the Plotter but I can't justify the cost. I'm mostly interested in the folders. I'm currently working out the dimensions to make my own for Filofax Personal size paper
Thank you for this great review! I just recently learned about this product and was curious. I'm curious to know more about the paper. Is it really smooth? I prefer this and less tooth. I use the Tomoe River Paper (Hobonichi Techo) and love it.
looks like a filofax from the '80s - I loved those things but today they are a bit bulky, this plotter looks great and slim but boy that is pricey and I agree it is a little small for practical use, the ring binder approach does have lots of customisation advantages but also a few disadvantages - for instance you can't draw over a double page, the rings get in the way of writing etc. Is the narrow the same page size as a Travellers note book? looks smaller to me...
The Filofax clip books are a new modern look at the old 80s versions. This is ice, much smaller rings than the Filofax. The price is a little high, but if you use something like this all the time it pays for itself over time. There is another notebook I reviewed, the Antou notebook. Those pages have a foldout approach that gives the flexibility of full page in a smaller size.
Hello! I use a personal size filofax, and I have been considering the bible size weekly inserts of planner for next year. However, I would like to see them in action, get to know how do they actually perform on day-to-day basis. Have you had any experience with those?
the perfect ring size would be 15mm i dont know why they chose 11mm. i have a 15mm krause ring. I wonder if i can take the plotter apart and change it.
One of the coolest things that seems like most Japanese stationery has is soft/squishy rings on binders and notebooks…and a quiet slide open and closed. Hearing that click/snap just sends me back to US generic binders. Finger pinches, rings misaligning so that everything hangs up on it, and the rings always being in the way of your hand. Not to mention how insanely overpriced they are (they can’t offer a pleather cover for the average person,) is they are setting themselves as “you’re buying a name” like Hobonichi, Coach, Louis Vuitton, etc. If you want to spend your money that way (and you have that money to burn) go for it. I’d rather spend 25% of that from a small business that sells on Etsy, or a woman/minority owned small business that comes up with a great idea for a planner and sells it at a fair price for what you’re getting. Also, I’m not sure how this is a planner vs an exaggerated memo pad? I have really started paying attention to price vs value, and who/where is my money going to? Idk what the inserts cost, but if they are reasonable for the quality, then stick them in a leather 6 ring binder from an individual maker on Etsy. The whole philosophy also reminds me of way back in the day when Franklin planners were pitched as a “lifestyle” in essence (yes, I bought into it for a few years) and it has the quality of telling me how to organize my life and use their philosophy to solve all of my problems vs here’s our lovely notebook/planner and you can use these different pages in whatever way you want. I usually love the stuff you do and show, Mark, and I’m glad that you said you probably wouldn’t have spent the money if it wasn’t gifted to you. I appreciate that in someone I trust to review a product.
Binders already exist with that ring configuration and that paper size (personal sized, which is 95mm x 171mm). Filofax, Franklin Covey, Kikki-K, etc, and they have much bigger rings. But the inserts are pretty cool, I think.
I purchased the Plotter inserts for a Gillio Slim Compagna. Midori/DesignPhil paper is really nice. So yes those binders exist and it's great that they use the same size rings so that it's interchangeable.
It’s too skinny it would probably be used as a post it note all but to make a entire entry such a planner or everyday notebook for note taking at work or personal use not feasible I would just use it for reminders or shopping list Christmas list and bday list . Way tooo expensive for what it offers.

Totally agree about it being there when you need it.

The rings are their main feature
@@aaronv7820 isn't ring binders a really common concept though?
I develop my own system for note taking ang definitely had some good ideas from this video :) Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
You create a master index of your bullet journals in the small binder. Subject - notebook - page.
Interesting idea.

That narrow size is the best, want to get one. I cut card stock down to that size and use binder clips. Would love to have a better system
It isn’t my favorite for day to day, personally. but I do like it for collections.

Oh this is an interesting system you have here. I like the idea of keeping it limited.

Thank you for this review I was thinking I wanted a plotter but it’s too small. I love thick tomes.
Glad it was helpful! Good to know before you buy
It needs larger rings

at last ….. I love my Plotters, paper is one of the best for fountain pens, the concept is superb. Next to my WH I stopped searching…this it ;-)
I’m such a fan of them too. It’s my little side kick

Thanks for checking out the vidoe and for your thoughts. When you said clicking binder rings on fingers - I instantly felt it 🤣

Very true. I have one of the Filofax 6 rings, but those rings are way big. I think the inserts are the best part of these ring binders. So fun!

Filofax also do slim or compact rings…

They loik beautiful, I just can’t get over how overpriced they are
If you turn the binder landscape, you will have a lot of space to write 😂😂😂
Buy yourself a decent piece of leather, a ring mechanism and save yourself $100 , these plotters are ridiculously overpriced .
I wish I had the skill to do that.

I agree with you. My handwritten is too big for this slim size. But I’ve kept my eye on the larger sizes.
