This points to one of the massive downfalls of the modern church.... part of discipleship with following along with the one you are discipling and make sure they are staying on the true Biblical path for their lives. when we all come to Christ we are sin filled and flawed, and they is how He embraces us, but we are never to stay that way, the embrace is an embrace of accepting we are sinners and making a commitment to move from that sin. This is not taught in most churches today. Instead it is the "come in just that way you are (which is what we should be doing) and stay that way because it is exactly how God wants you"... um.... JORDAN- please talk about the International Christian Church, i almost go sucked into their cult just today. They are an on campus christian group that does these 9 bible studies with college students, and they get progressively weirder and they pull verses out if context. The first bible studies seemed like true doctrine to me so i decided to go to the church and i got heavy cult vibes and a deep gut wrenching feeling something was wrong. Please expose this to the masses so college students wont go through what i went through

This points to one of the massive downfalls of the modern church.... part of discipleship with following along with the one you are discipling and make sure they are staying on the true Biblical path for their lives. when we all come to Christ we are sin filled and flawed, and they is how He embraces us, but we are never to stay that way, the embrace is an embrace of accepting we are sinners and making a commitment to move from that sin. This is not taught in most churches today. Instead it is the "come in just that way you are (which is what we should be doing) and stay that way because it is exactly how God wants you"... um.... NO... we come in just the way we are because we understand it is not how God wants us and we need to be transformed though Jesus into the holy beings God created us to be. We will never be there this side of heaven, but that does not mean we do not make every day an opportunity to move closer to that goal.

There is a distinctiom between between the way someone is created and what they choose to about it. It is those that actually practice that do not go to heaven, not those that are of a particular persuasion and choose not to act upon it.
Sin is in the heart...no action required. Sin is who we are apart from Christ and His work on the cross. Sin is our thoughts and words not just deeds. Also don't be confussed by a persuasion.

The Bible is clear that when a person is putting their faith in Christ, then they are saved forever, no matter what. Salvation is of God. It's by Grace alone, through Faith alone in Christ alone. The Gospel is simple and eliminates any kind of work, behavior modification, religious rituals, etc. ... Ephesians 2:8-9 is clear!!! Nobody can boast in their salvation other than in what Christ has accomplished for them. And yes sure, it is desirable that a Christian who has now a relationship with God, will also enter into fellowship with God getting to know Him and mature. But we must be clear that salvation is no longer a sin issue, but a Son issue, meaning are you in Christ or are you not, do you have Christ as your Savior or not? If you've put your faith in Christ (Acts 16:31, John 3:16, 36, 5:24, 6:29, etc., etc.) then you're forever saved as you've received eternal life at that very moment.
