  • February 26 2021 - BROOKLYN, New York:
Crowds of people danced and celebrated the Jewish holiday of Purim in the streets of South Williamsburg today.
Around 5:30pm the sirens went off, indicating that sunset is near and the crowds rushed home to observe shabbat.
Purim is celebrated on the 14th and 15th days of Adar, the twelfth month of the Jewish Calendar which usually coincides with March.
Purim is a Jewish holiday which commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman, as recounted in the Book of Esther. Haman was the royal vizier to King Ahasuerus, he planned to kill all Jews in the empire.
Purim is a festive day when it's common to dress up in costume.

The day when 78,000 Iranians are killed and every year they celebrate this great massacre, and the Iranian people leave their homes every year on the 13th of Farvardin so that they will not be killed in their homes again. I feel sorry for humanity.

And also we make huge parades with colorful big floats my personal best holiday hands down

For some reason TH-cam showed me this video 2 years later 😅 This year I watched Purim live in Israel. But this is the first time I see it in New York.

Normally YAHUWEH gave Moses 7 feasts for the people of Israel to keep the commandments and laws of ELOIM.
By adding purim and the feast of light this is no longer counted as a feast of YAHUWEH, but an imitation to want to do like other nations, celebrated pagan feasts.

Really odd how the tale of Purim and it's "commandments" do not appear within the Torah.
More flexible, orally passed down laws from that legacy of the Pharisees that in written word we call Talmud.

The laws governing the holiday if Purim appear in the last chapter of the book of Esther. One of the last canonized books of the bible. Not sure if you expect it to be written about in the 5 books of Moses, considering the story took place around 1000 years later.

What bothers me is the heavy clothing in hot weather. I do not care what their belief's are as long as they keep it to themselves and not try and bother other Jews who hold a different view. In Israel it can get kind of extreme.

    • @glenbearh9109

By the way, in New York city they never bothered me other then to ask if I was Jewish-something to do with swords made of palm. Not sure why but guess it has to do with a holiday as they do find people and they seem to face West and "doth" the swords in some fashion. Maybe time to look it up on google.

Love the masks, not to mention the social distancing. So upsetting to see my people behaving like this in the midst of an epidemic that has taken so many of them already. Purim can wait, as can all the hageem. There's always time to celebrate after we are all vaccinated. Seeing this is disheartening.
