In my headcanon, the "Tyler" on the airport moving sidewalk was a real guy not related to the story, his appearance just stuck with the narrator to create Tyler Durden. He's going the other way along the concourse and yet ends up on the same plane?
That would actually make a lot of sense, kind of like how your brain builds locations in dreams for real places you've been. 'Jack' probably looked at him for a moment, mentally commented on him, and then forgot about him entirely; not even realizing what he'd set in motion for himself.
Actually he shot himself in the face to take control of his own life, not to run from pain but to embrace it as part of being alive. When Tyler burned his hand he tried to close his eyes, meditate his way out of the pain wich makes Tyler mad because he was "wasting the best moment of his life", that's why right before he shoots himself he says to Tyler "My eyes are open"
Yeah, he´s all about "See, Tyler, I UNDERSTAND that you are me, I UNDERSTAND that I have to face the consequences of my deeds, I UNDERSTAND that I will someday die, maybe right now." when he pulls the trigger.
Yeah I can see all that but having schizophrenia he chose to shoot himself in the face VS what John Nash did in A beautiful Mind which was live with it lol.

The purpose of the movie wasn't to criticise capitalism. It was predominately a commentary on masculinity in the late 20th century. The men in the film felt trapped within monotonous, unfulfilling lives, and so decided to take their frustrations out against the system. Personally, I don't interpret it as a film that advocates anarchism, instead I see it as a portrayal of men who are desperately seeking a sense of purpose in life, a higher mission.
Exactly, a very big part of the point was that Tyler was wrong and hypocritical. But just like a good cult leader, there's just enough truth in what he says that you find yourself listening. That's a big part of the reason people still find the movie and it's message interesting; even now, when the world is very different, there are truths to be found in Tyler's message. I'd almost say that the central theme is "Don't put too much stock in what anyone says, listen to everyone and pick your own ideas."
scaper8 Tyler's hypocrisy certainly comes from the Narrator's conflicting ideas over what he deems to be the perfect man. He wants to be completely opposed to the norms of society. Free of from rules, capitalism, consumerism, work, etc. While simultaneously wishing to reflect societies ideals in terms of physical appearance, an attractive face, a good hairstyle, trendy clothing, and a muscular physique. He has numerous avenues of income that are generated via work and capitalist ventures. And importantly, his organisation is heavily based around strict rules. This is clearly deliberate. At no point does Tyler suggest that he has fully realized his philosophy. He always makes it clear that he's trying to hit bottom, achieving it is an ongoing process. He's on a journey, and he wishes to take everyone else on that journey with him.
on the serious side note, my interpretation of these movie is just about men being bored. its like they build their own KND-kind of organisation. it felt like they just did for the lulz.
I agree with you, and might add that it's also making a commentary criticizing self-righteous anarchistic ideals that obviously lead to the same results of mindless, monotonous lives via following some leader who spits out anti-establishment garbage made to sound clever and "deep". People who attack the movie for in their eyes putting forth some kind of "romanticism of anarchy that is hypocritical" seem to not take the next step in recognizing that the director, screenwriters, actors, etc. are THOROUGHLY AWARE of the hypocrisy, and that the point of the movie is to showcase that hypocrisy.
A lot of Fight Club fans seem to forget that the actual point of the book is to show how horrible of a person Tyler actually is, and why all the ideals he spouts aren't actually the best, if you think about it hard enough.

Actually Tyler gives a lot of rules to his followers in hopes that they will break them and that brings them a step closer to freedom.
No, that would almost make sense.
If that was his goal, he should have used Erisian dialectic instead.
Lol that’s a cult.
Stop hitting yourself stop hitting yourself :D genius
David Fincher mentioned in the commentary how he put the pepsi and starbucks in most scenes ON PURPOSE so as to show the excessive consumerism in society.
And of course so he could afford to pay Brad Pitt.
Ironically not ironic? Sure.
Dammit, totally downloaded the song on Napster. Dammit.
Use Kazaa people. get with the times. You can download music and other files.
mshara1 limewire ftw
Audiogalaxy, lol
I'm using this new and hip program called Soulseek!
Guilty on the song. Liked the video for that. Banana cubs represent?
"I am Tyler's missing sense of irony."
Oh my Gods, you killed me.

Napster will always be the no1 !
I think it was Ares for me.
"Punching Jared Leto in the face..."
I died at that part.
Especially after watching 2016 Suicide Squad
Say: huzzah, the fun has been doubled!!
i know where this quote come from...
"nobody will realize he's a total hypocrite"
...that's kinda the point, chump. I least I think it's the point.
+Kevin Matta you sound so supportive of his comment and also disapproving at the same time, lol.
Salut je pensais pas te trouver ici :)
CoasterSimuCraft MapMaking Je vais avoir besoin d'une remise en contexte, car votre/ton pseudo ne m'est pas familier.
En fait je suis juste un simple abonné... :)
+Fuzzy TV looooooool
Talking about David Fincher and Napster... WHERE IS THE SOCIAL NETWORK HONEST TRAILER??!!
If you're reading this in the future: I'm proud of you man! You did it. You made it through. God Bless you. Carry on fighting.
Oh and stay happy. Don't ever care about what others think of you.
Its only been 7 months. But any point after posting, it could only be read in the future. So here I am posting in the present, leaving a note in the past, to only be read in the future. Carring on.
Thanks. Now here’s a note once more, you can do it. Take heed of this note, as it will fall into the wave of the past.
If you should see this comment in the fu-
Thanks man!
Epic voice-over man, can you say, "Find something you believe in and when you do, pass it on."
Honest Trailer guy confirmed for voicing Snake in upcoming Metal Gear 1 remake...
Or say "NANOMACHINES?!!"
Another awesome honest trailer; but, anybody can say anything they want about Fight Club. It'll still be one of the greatest movies ever made.
It'd be awesome if you said: "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood".
He already did …
Christian Ruppelt Oh really? Lame. I'm kind of new to Screen Junkies so I had no idea. In that case, it'd be awesome if he said:
"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers;
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked;
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?"
Ask siri she says something about beavers
OK I CONFESS I DOWNLOADED THIS OFF NAPSTER 19 YEARS AGO DURING MY FIRST YEAR OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL. GESUS IM OLD. P.S. I truly miss the dorm days watching FC, jackass, rounders, office space, and snatch. Early 2000s were awesome now I just work all the time and pay bill's between single serving interactions with actual humans.
I downloaded it using bearshare or kazaa wasnt a big fan of napster. But i know exactly how you feel, maybe its time to start my own fight club for the college students who had that poster on their wall who are know stuck in the exact lives we told ourselves we would never be stuck with
Please say:
"Oooohhhhh I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay, I sleep all night and I work all day"
reading this reminds me of Dexter.. and makes me want to cry
Ugh, I'm having Dexter flashbacks. Argh, the horror.
I think the funniest of Fight Club's ironic mishaps was the part where Tyler is telling the space monkeys about how society makes people believe they are supposed to be 'millionaires movie gods and rock stars' with Jared Leto in the shot. You know, the movie god rock star millionaire. Me and my friends still laugh about that shit.
tyler durden laughing at CK models. Brad pitt was a CK model lol.
Please do an honest trailer for the Terminator.
YES!
Sounds like a amazing idea! You have my vote.
Yea
***** Technically you fourth it,
MasterAqua Keymaster more like 5th
"The only thing they like more than violence and chaos is following the rules". To whoever writes those Honest Trailers bits: you, are good.
1999 Fight Club, American Beauty, The Matrix, The Sixth Sense.... great year for films... damn
Also, The Green Mile, American Pie, South Park, Office Space, Boondock Saints, Varsity Blues.. Great year!!
Please say
"I'll take one potato chip, AND EAT IT !"
Say this:
"Ha ha how's it going bros, my name is peeeeeeeeeeeewdiepie"
why are you trying to ruin his life?
Wierd coming from a Brony you shouldn't tell a person to kill themselves just because they like something.
Christian Morales Sure I can, Pewdiepie is cancer. Don't you want to rid the world of cancer?
Fox in Sox
if Pewds is cancer, shouldn't all the bros die by now? Pewds made us laugh and if you can't like that then please shut up
Joven Falcan But Joven my dear laddy boy, how can I keep wasting your time if I shut the fuck up?
I downloaded that Pixie song off Napster.
I don't even remember if my 56K dial-up could handle Napster.
Oh napster, those where the days :3
RIP napster
StudioInkblot huh?
StudioInkblot oh
+Electro-Cute whats the name of the song its very familiar but can't remember it
It still exists on Wii U
"Meewwwwwbs" had me laughing so god damn hard.
So...anyone else remember when the Hulk punched the Joker in the face? I didn't until the Suicide Squad cast was announced
Lololol
Setag keviv
in American Psycho, Batman killed the Joker. ;)
That he did, brodie. So much for that precious "One Rule"
(LOTR jokes not intended)
brodie65708 in Lord of war, Ghost Rider is the brother of the Joker :)
I didn't knew there was a time travel who watched morbius and commented this ( 3:30 ) 7 yrs ago 🤯
I am Jack's missing sense of irony, hahahaha
You finally found your sense of irony, congrats
I don't think it's funny because my online name is Jack Bandit... It's funny because it's clever
No, what are you doing?
Never talk about Fight Club!
Good one
Please say "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." (Not going to stop asking!)
I believe he already did that one luv
Hexrina V yeah he already did x3
Hexrina V tru
Hi, Revan!
Did he? I didn't notice.
This is one of the best ones they've ever done!
Fight Club: A movie that college bros love for the fighting and completely over look the themes of existentialism, consumerism, capitalism, and anarchism.
I am Jack's spoiler alert!
You mean "I am Jack's other alter ego wich watchs honest trailers without watching the movie first" ?
First movie that made me say wtf then Inception came along and made me also feel that wtf feeling
inception is overrated. a plot which can be telled in about five minutes. sounds complex but it isnt.
HulkTopF II I think Fight Club is overrated as well.
HulkTopF II
Some overrate it, some underrate it, just as with most movies.
HulkTopF II if you think inception isnt complex, you havent seen kyle johnson's explanation of it on google talks, look it up.
HulkTopF II "Telled"
“ But since he’s so hot, barely anyone will realize he’s a total hypocrite”
Fight Club is so overrated
TH-cam is so overrated
The internet is so overrated
Breathing is so overrated.
...Wait...*Suddenly starts suffocating*.
Holy crap, was downloading that Pixies song off of Napster because of this movie that universal? Because I totally did it.
Same here. Kinda blew my mind that he said that.
Pulp Fiction for it's 20th anniversary yesterday!
PULP FICTION already
You should've done pulp fiction it's been 20 years since it came out
Pulp Fiction is a unique movie and making an honest trailer would be quite hard.
Miraç Bayrak True, no need for honest trailer to make the effort, that movie was a constant parody of itself
Miraç Bayrak well...so is Fight Club.
The message of a movie isn't important. You think a movie is going to change your life but the next day you already forgot about it. What's important is that you enjoyed experiencing the movie. Stop looking for a message and start enjoying yourself.
AMEN
ever heard of fandoms?
lol still love FC
+Justin Truax Me too :D
It's 2021 and this movie is still a masterpiece! Thank you Fincher for making this film!
"Punching Jared Leto in the face."
lolz
I love Jared Leto
Michelle Perez Yeah all the girls do. And he's got a big dick.
That's why we wanna punch him.
Vasileski88 I like him for his talent and personality. But other people just like him for that reason.
We all wanted to do this at some point tho.
Say: "It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all outta gum!"
Say" I see a little silhouette of a man Scaramouche Scaramouche will you do the fandango thunder bolts of lightning very very frightening me Galileo Galileo Galileo Galileo Galileo Figaro Magnifique ohohoh I just a poor boy nobody loves me he's just a poor boy from a poor family spare him his life from this monstrosity. easy come easy go will you let me bisquemila no know we will not let you go let him go bisquemila no we will not let you go let them go no no no no no no no oh mama mama Mia mamma Mia let me go"

VSilenceV How about you don't know good music?
Was already into The Pixies, and was super pumped when that played over the ending!
Please say:
"The only movie better than Last Airbender...was After Earth"
maaaaan thats eeeeeeeeeevil

And then say:"But let's be honest, they both sucked."
Dirnehviir Soul Trapper A LOT! :c

Say "it ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you and get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward, that's how winning is done."
play tekken and do Kazuya Mishimas voice or Jins english voice please
fight club is my favorite movie of all time(so far), and im wondering what I have in common with people who feel the same way about this movie
do you feel most people lead meaningless lives? perhaps including your selves?
do you hate the monetary system?
is depression something in the past or present you've fought with?
do you struggle to think of brands that your loyal to?
just curious
Inly Screen Junkies could show me this is a giant Calvin & Hobbes spoof. Honor to merit.
