- This is the 100% version of my Tom Clancy´s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory speedrun. It´s done on Expert difficulty in 27 segments.

As in my any% run I didn´t manipulate the length of conversations by quicksaving in certain moments.
There are some tricks I´d like to explain:
Cargo Ship:
If you enter Lacerda´s cabin in a certain way (pulled out EEV, not too far, not too fast) and go right back out, the game starts Lacerda´s conversation with the two guards with him, but seems not to realize you left the room.
If you leave now the area where you can still hear them (they won´t stop talking immediately, they will always finish their last sentence or at least a part of this sentence) and enter this area again, the game for some reason thinks you completed the "Find the name of Lacerda´s Panamanian contact" objective.
I did this once by accident and it took me a while to figure out what exactly triggered it.
Displace:
There is a similiar trick in Displace. I enter the area which triggers the conversation to start and start recording it with my EEV just for a second. Now I continue doing the other stuff I have to do, but the game thinks I´m still recording. This trick only works if the conversation ends exactly in the moment the game says "mission complete". It´s a pretty large time window of a few seconds. But you can even enlarge it by not skipping it as soon as possible, since this doesn´t affect the already halted game timer anymore. You can actually hear the clicking of my EEV at 23:28, which means I successfully recorded the conversation. If the conversations ends earlier or later, the "Discover the real identity of Milan Nedich" objective doesn´t count as completed.

It had so much comedic timing for me. First I was completely distracted by the subject of geopolitical ramifications between the members of the splinter cell, then sudden alert as the door is about to be opened with an enemy in the process of spotting Fisher; immediately before his face is aquatinted by a steel reinforced door hitting hard enough to fold him like a lawn chair down the stairs.
...then Lamberts reaction.

Yeah, they did. They remastered the first three games in 2011. The 'Double Agent remaster' you're thinking of? It's actually a separate version of the old Double Agent. The newer one is considered canon since Sam canonically shot Lambert in that one.

This game was ahead of its time. Best stealth game ever. Great gameplay, plot, dialogues, characters. Awesome. Still one of the best games I've ever played. Pure fun.
As someone who prefers in certain aspects Blacklist... I AGREE with you. The animations, flexibility of this game and how Sam is moving, the gadgets, locations, everything is absolute top tier. And of course, Amon Tobin and his nu-jazz, drum n base hybrid soundtrack.

Blacklist was totally worst in the series sorry. Story is so bad. Dialogue between Sam and Grimm is awful writing. Conviction was better than Blacklist. But Chaos Theory and first game probably my favorite

not that i'm complaining, love both games but hearing THE Sam Fisher cracking jokes on the job is quite unexpected and funny
Yeah, it's a different Sam though, he still cracked a couple jokes but after that thing with Sarah, he was definitely not the happiest man on earth.
I dunno, in Conviction he comments in funny ways regularly, in a contextual manner, when you're taking people out. For example, if you smash a guy's head into a wall after taking him as a human shield, he sometimes will say : "Face, meet wall. Wall, this is a face."
Interrogations in Double Agent are still funny. Same with Sam's conversations with Moss.
Codex In Conviction there was still humor, and it was ok considering the kind of place Sam Fisher was. But in Blacklist it was inexcusable, nothing more than bad writing.
Blacklist tried to make up for Sam's lack of with by including that lame ass hacker dude.

the only thing that makes me angry with this run is knowing I would be utterly destroyed and killed over and over again if I tried to get away with even half of what you show off doing here.

What cheats did he use?
Aside of taking advantage of some in game glitches? Something that prevents alarms from going off even when he's clearly spotted.
There's no cheats used on these runs.

Also, at some point in the Displace mission, a camera spotted you and you are able to clearly hear something among the lines of "I see someone on the cameras!" but no alarms are sounded and you get 100%

+Penny Sautereau Despite being wrong as fuck, from what ive seen, the alarm doesnt sounds under specific circumstances related to being in an alert phase with guards around you. This bug is as old as splinter cell itself, its in the first game.
this is probably still the game with the best stealth Gameplay/ atmosphere....and that comes from an Metal Gear Solid Fan 😅

This guy just heard me but never saw me. I used the same trick in the Lighthouse mission. But in most situations this won´t work, because the guards will just press a panic button nearby.

And did you did this all in one hour? or did you do each mission at different times?
It's a segmented run (done on Expert difficulty in 27 segments.) , so he played every segment times and times again until it was done perfectly.

Nice job! One sloppy thing I noticed from the devs: @ 21:41 they suddenly don't know who M. Nedich is, while you can hear his name from a guard you grab in the level before this one. They discuss the name and say they can't find anything on him. Now they act like that never happened. The dialogue: th-cam.com/video/AXRO6Mt5trg/w-d-xo.html
Of course not everyone might grab that guard and make him talk in the previous level. But still. Should have made two versions on this level, one for when you grabbed him and thus know his name with something like. "Hey, this Nedich name is popping up again.'' And another one like they have now where they don't know him.

Also how come the mercenaries with lacerda didn't find his body? How does that work?
I think it has something to do with the way they were made suspicious from coty shocking lacerda. They wouldn't see him because they'd look at the doorway instead. As well, coty would be long gone by the time they turn around and so the mercs would more or less deload. Same trick as what he used to skip the contact dialogue I would think.

@@jennyxj-9296Yeah the game is sort of like Super Mario World, ahead of Mario the game is essentially paused before he continues and that means the area behind him to the left is constantly being paused also. Cuts down on processing power and RAM usage I believe, quite a smart dev thing or hardware limitation that couldn't be broken through.

This speedrun makes Sam Fisher seem & look like the biggest bad ass quickest most stealthiest ninja DON in Spy history. He's in and out without being seen like a ghost version of sonic the hedgehog within minutes on each mission.
Figure I might as well do this so people hopefully stop calling cheats and shenanigans with this run.
I'm a runner for this game myself, training to do the first single segment 100% run, and have claimed several single segment IL spots on Speedrun.com (you can also check my channel for the IL uploads), and can speak with some degree of authority on what works and what doesn't and there's nothing in this run that doesn't check out strat wise.
Coty is a revered community figure as quiet as he can occasionally be within the Splinter Cell speedrunning community, him cheating would be a shock to us all since we have all witnessed his skill in real time. He even has his own meme category in SC1 that's themed after how he typically plays it.
There's several reasons why cheating is impractical and honestly unlikely, less so than even some other PC games if you ask me.
Cheat commands are available in game, but are mostly useless due to being super obvious and they MUST be added with an ini tweak. The ini for which is in a somewhat obscure location compared to the regular game files, and is only limited to what the game engine allows which isn't a ton. Cheat engine could work too, but it more or less can only do exactly what these commands do anyways.
Infinite ammo does not work practically, using commands to spawn items and ammo will never just pop them into your inventory. They instead spawn in front of you as a pick up with no physics. This is not only very very slow (seconds per item), but is so obvious someone who has never played CT could spot it. There's also a hard cap to how many you can carry, I think it was like 15 or 20?
It is possible to open up end edit the UMD to change the starting loadouts of missions. but doing this is useless since not only is it a hassle to open the UMD and change the ini, but there's no known way to repackage the UMD or to make the game read the open and edited files.
Invisibility would be pretty easy to spot due to the fact the enemy "seeing something" lines wouldn't go off, along with this, alerting enemies doesn't actually count as being identified if they don't see you. This is why something like the security office strat on Bank where he shoots the glass pane works for example. Combat music=/=dead run.
Invincibility is obvious because you'd be able to see Sam getting shot and it negates ALL fall damage so using it to survive high drops would be pretty easy to check since you cant use it to keep you barely alive. This is also given away by the fact that Sam does not scream/cry out from damage with invincibility on at all. Coty's health management is just really good, in Seoul for example, I'm able to more or less copy his strat if my execution is up to par and not die after the fall. I even found a way to land on the bomb that just outright negates fall damage cause of jank physics.
The Bathhouse Bug is easy to work around as it's due to Sam clipping his arm through the vent in Shetland's meeting room. The ISDF guy will see Sam but not do anything cause the sequence is scripted. His strat for the hallway is fine, and basement is SUPER hard to do the way he does, but its entirely possible.
Sorry I'm late Dave! So at 50:30 he autocompleted it by instantly pressing the select option and getting it correct. The odds of this are 1/16. I'm currently routing Kokubo for RTA so I had to figure out how to get past this door hacking it normally without being seen lol.
I don't have the 100% record yet but im getting there. 9/10 levels down for ILs. Unless you mean my new bathhouse run in which case thanks!

Is that possible to finish that game without knockout and kills? kind of full stealth, 100%
KSF no some missions require assassinations but no normal enemies have to be killed
A year late buuuut, I've been doing some practice and have made an entire practice save for running in the future. From doing this I learned the minimum you can do and still get 100% is 5 kos and one kill.
The required ones are:
The guy at the top of the lighthouse in the first level
Lacerda in the boat
At least one guard in the pent house
Nedich in hokkaido
One of the NKA special forces in Seoul
Doug in Bathhouse (the only absolutely required kill since you can technically KO Lacerda and Nedich)
Lacerda, Nedich and Doug all do not count to the knock out or kill count which means that according to the actual scoreboard the minimum is three.
If you are doing an any% run, you can skip the one guy in the pent house and bring it down to 5 required.
@@jennyxj-9296that’s so annoying .. dbl agent version 2 is the same way… in Kinshasa you have to knock out the guy in the hallway before knocking on emile’s door. That pissed me off so much because that was the only k/o on that mission

100% on the bathhouse level, something I could never do on expert. I still don't know why it never worked out, but it annoys me to this day.
Because there's a glitch in the game itself in the bath-house where you get spotted no matter how good you're stealthing. Further proof this guy used cheats. Although his limitless sticky shockers and airfoils should have already been a dead giveaway.
Actually even though there is a glitch, it is possible to avoid it and get 100%, there are a couple ways around it but I will link a video on one of the ways around it:

from what im seeing hes using the right amount of sticky shockers/airfoils the stealth load out gives in each mission.

Nothing happens because the event is scripted but it's totally avoidable. The hallway is easy to work around doing the smoke flash strat coty did and despite being a bitch to pull off, you can do 100% basement. Dont spread misinformation.
Penny Sautereau I’ve gotten 100% on Expert on Bathhouse when I was getting my Ghost and Completionist achievements on XBL. It’s definitely possible without any cheats.
Damn... I try to stealth Lighthouse as carefully as possible and only get 97% success. This guy runs through everything and everyone and 100%...
I never knew it could've been played like this. I was just here some cool knife kills, stuck around for the commitment.

I was clenching my arse cheeks when you were doing those laser jumps on the Bank mission! Impressive.
That part with Turtle and the safe was comedy gold with how you did things right after he explained it. Like when he said hear the beep then the beep a split second after
