I actually use this one all the time. I eat avocados like three times a week, and just having one tool fixing it, and not switching between knife and spoon makes it such a breeze. Also I'm quite clumsy overall, so a tool without sharp edges is safer for me to use.

As TonixTech said, it would be great for kids to use on strawberries, eggs, bananas or anything else soft enough to cut/slide with the plastic blades. The pit remover is a uni-tasker, but otherwise there is a lot of potential in the kitchen for this.

There are different types of Avocados The most common types are: Bacon, Fuerte, Gwen, Hass, Pinkerton, Reed, and Zutano the Hass being the most common and one that is smaller then some of the others. there are about 500 types but the ones mentioned above are the most common and come from California. The one you said was larger then your fist as a child was probably not a Hass because the Hass is one of the smaller ones.

I'm sure any future opinions he might want to share will be stunted by your inconsideration. I enjoy your reviews and have commented before that I thought you all were a nice family. Still do. And it's cool you allow him to do the occasional kids review. His opinion 'does mean something'. Hope that was just an 'unthinking' moment on your part.

this could all be done with one knife: 1 cut the avacado in half. 2 turn the avacado where you cut it. 3. hit the seed with the knife. 4 twist the knife. 5. lift up the seed. 6. place the avacado half so the skin is facing up. cut it into strips and peel.
