  • In this video we will benchmark Bluetti's new AC200L solar generator to see how it behaves under a verity of conditions. We test most of the features of the device and perform exhaustive efficiency benchmarking with comparisons to other Bluetti devices.
    This is the updated version of the video that reflects that Bluetti has fixed the previous USB-C issue with a firmware patch on 11/29/2203. The USB-C ports now both work correctly without throwing overload errors. The video is identical to the previous version other than this section.

    One thing that I noticed when stacking the AC200L on top of B300 that because of location of connections that the back of the B300 has to be in front in order to make the connection which is no big deal because when AC200L is turned on the B300 is also powered on. It was just interesting that on Bluetti’s website the pictures they show have the front of each unit showing but not connected. The cable will not connect in that configuration.

    I feel bad even saying this after seeing how many hours you are spending to do the discharge tests, but i love that you have them. The efficiency at different loads is my favorite test!!!

    Thanks for another in-depth review. I have an AC200P. I consider the scaled back functionality of the screen controls to be enough for me to stay away from the AC200L. However, your comments about the fragility of the display on the Max sent me to Amazon to buy a display screen protector. Also, my Bluetti stays put in a fixed location, so less of a chance of damage to the display.

      The "screen damage" issue on the AC200Max tends to be when people move it around. There have been a lot of posts on the Bluetti Facebook group from people who put it in the back of the work van then had some other tool bang on the screen and damage it.

      The old screen touch screen will slowly disapear from all their stations and follow the trend in all other brand Jackery, echoflow goalzero and others. The only vrand that introduce a new touch screen is yoshino and their new prototype 6000w. The new series premium at bluetti and the future ac240 will have the new screen which is much much more visible in direct sunlight. With app the touchscreen is not necessary and drain energy which was a cause of bad efficiency in the past.
      But i agree the settings via P01…0x is useless. They should simply use it as screen. If they want to control settings with button they should do like a Yamaha keyboard screen with a range of button on the left, bottom and right to select values. But i think an app is good enough via Bluetooth.

    Thanks for the update!
    Fyi, for this updated usb-c part, the AC200L may have "tricked" you. It was pulling like the 183W as you say; but as you keep talking it drops to 135/136W and then again to 89/90W. For the 1st drop, the units still both seem to be charging. They go dark before the 2nd drop though I assume still charging. Perhaps the units are tapering down as they get full because towards the end they both show 100%.
    It was a bit confusing until I realized what might be happening since your reviews/videos are rock solid.
    Again, just an fyi if you didn't realize it and thanks again for the update.

    Jeff, another great video. You mentioned that you're currently using your AC200 Max for the 12v 30A port access. My truck camper project is coming along nicely, with the installation of the new Renogy CIGS panels (2x150 watt) scheduled for December. It would be helpful if you can find the time to do another Bluetti-powered camping video.

    • @WaveformScience
      @WaveformScience  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, I plan to when the D40 is ready. I want to determine myself if I'm switching the camper to the AC200L or sticking with the AC200Max. I have no timeline for this yet.

      Thx Jeff, I spoke to Bluetti yesterday and they said the D40 won’t be available til May ‘24 🤬 I purchased the L over the Max thinking it must be out soon but regretting it now based on this delay. My Skoolie system is based on a high DC output from the Bluetti, any suggestions on how to get around this, a big transformer? 😉

      @@Bolthole_Studiosthe D40 won’t output 12v30A directly to a fuse block if this is what you expect for. This is coming from a bluetti tech. The D40 can only charge a battery by combining multiple source of energy. The cable 48v to anderson, i am not sure if we can plug a converter to 12v 30A. But the D40 is useless if you don’t have a battery. My cargo trailer doesn’t and i was hoping using the D40 to connect to a fuse block to connect a maxxair. But apparently according to bluetti it does not allow that.

    Great work on the review, Jeff. Have you had time to observe the b230’s compatibility? Specifically, charging and discharging at lower/higher/equal SOC % relative to the 200L? Thanks 🙌

  • @CC-gt3ro
    @CC-gt3ro 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    And about this d40 stuff. Bluetti will never release an andersen cable as i heard in a lot of places. The cable will have the data pin in both end and won’t allow third party devices, only the d40. Also it will output only 12v20A and not 12v30A. From what i understood it is directly connect to the BMS. NO third party 48v8A to 12v30A.

    When I plug mine in to the wall to charge it. It trips the fuse box. All 230v.
    I tried different sockets. I unplugged everything. Still tripping the fuse

    The earlier comment about the AC200L and B300 is true. Stacked facing forward the connection between the two does not reach. I think a cable with appropriate length wire and even better, 90 degree plugs appropriately angled to feed the B300 power to the AC200L. This would both allow front facing machines and lower the overall footprint. Can the plugs be bought separately? Are there 90 degree options? Side note: the B300 pamphlet specifically says that the unit should not be stacked (page 2) even though there are illustrations in the booklet of them being stacked (page 8).

    If you have a b230 connected to the AC200L and you have solar connected to the B230, does that solar feed both the b230 and the AC200L?

    Do you know if it's possible to charge it with my Jeep's factory 400W AC plug? I can't get it to work. I think it might be because Jeeps use a modified sine wave inverter. Does this thing require a pure sine wave to charge?

    Thanks for the video. I really appreciate all the info! Do you happen to know if the AC200L can be hooked up to AC and PV inputs but prioritize the PV? I would like to use this as a UPS but also take advantage of solar and only use AC input as necessary.

    • @CC-gt3ro
      @CC-gt3ro 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have seen a video showing that by using the pv setting, he was setting 20% to indicate to use solar until the power goes under 20% then it would use the power AC to charge when under 20%. I am not sure how much the AC should charge though. Up to 100% ? Then letting the solar keeping the charge again ? I don’t know.
      Ideally the settings should have a range where the AC should recharge for backup security until giving back the hand to solar again. That would be good.

    FYI 105C SJT 14/3 is rated for 18A (although I would not draw more than 16A form the NEMA 15-5P). I am completely comfortable using it for 16A charging on a 20A breaker. I have build my own cable using 90C SJOOW 12/3 rated at 25A for 20A charging on a 30A breaker.

    Important info: there won’t be a 12v30A output from the 48v08A D40. Bluetti tech said the cable will allow to connect to D40 and this module allow to charge the rv battery. It will receive multiple source of current from mppt charger, from the bluetti to output it to charge a battery. He said it won’t be possible to connect directly the D40 output 12v to a fuse block directly. So the 200L is a no go for me right now. They talk they will provide the cable with anderson as well. Maybe we can connect a converter 48 to 12v. But if there is no anderson, it will be useless. The 200max can do 12v30A and they have also 5521 plug rated 12v10A But the 200max is too old, with. Powerbrick and noisy. People should be careful with that, i read several person that already bought the generator and waiting for a 12v30A conversion that will never come.
    People should wait the AC240p which can connect 4 x b210 or 2 x ac240 for 4800w inverter and this has the 12v30A and the RV plug. It will have 2400 inverter but on’y 1540wh only. So you will need a extra battery minimum or a second AC240 plugged to the new parallel connector. The b210 will require also the new connector.

    The fact that the dc button does not shutdown the current in the 48v plug is design mistake. It means there would be always a loss, whatever they do with the third pin to enable the current or not. The plug should be shut down by the button. This new plug will be a big failure by Bluetti until they provide a real converter 48 to 12, external or internal it does not matter. The D40 is useless for a cargo trailer that don’t have a battery…

  • @CC-gt3ro

    Interferences are too much. I have seen inside and there are at least 3 black electronic shield around wire to try to put down radiation and interferences.
    All videos i have seen confirm the fact there too much noise..from the inverter and even without.
    Normally good generator don’t interfere with guitar amplifier (look at Jackery 2000 plus, echoflow, and other bluetti ac300 seems much much more cleaner.
