"Was that your phone" 😳🤦‍♂ "You just scared all the perch away" 😂 Chairs or benches should have mandatory phone pockets eh. Perhaps a patented ice fishing phone case with a strongly magnetic edge and an included oppositely polarized magnet to tie onto a rod or pole? There's a product idea. 😄 But yeah, tether that phone case to a zipper! That's what I do.

  • @surfingfireman

Dropped my phone whilev musky fishing off my paddle board last year. Easy 6-8inches of the siltiest muck and weeds in 3ft of black water. Half dozen blind sweeps of my net with nothing. Then one last giant scoop of muck that would fill a 5 gal bucket...I feel around in the slip AND THERE IT IS! I couldn't believe it. Caught a couple musky too, which made for a good day.

BlackRapid makes a great phone tether that fits under the case and uses a sticky to keep it in place, and paired with a KeyBak lanyard, you'll never lose your phone. I did the same mistake as Brandon and lost it in the mud, and was out $1200 because my phone was not insured for loss 😅

@Ben Klymochko No prob, I thought the same thing and came to the comments! There are no trout in that lake it's absolutely huge but pretty shallow overall. Sucker are pretty common by-catches even in winter here, and I even target them sometimes for some fast action and good fights in the open water. Also great bait for big lake trout and huge catfish.
