I have a 30 foot avocado tree grown from a Publix bought seed. It took 7 years for it to flower and now does so every year. I get lots of fruit when the raccoons and possums decided to let me have it that year. Go to a landscape supply or rock and gravel place and buy some of the seashell gravel (whatever it is called it is what our dirt roads are covered with here) and put it around the plant as wide as the canopy. Don't use shells from the beach as the salt is bad. Avocados love calcium.

I was thinking the same thing. The wild chicken may know not to eat it but I don't think the bred chickens would know that. Definitely worth looking into the plants as the culprit.

Hi my mom planted 2 avocado plants that she raised from a seed and a friend of ours told her that they would not produce fruit because one had to be a male one had to be a female so they could be cross pollinated anyway to make a Long story short two weeks before my mom passed away she was able to eat one of the avocados that came off one of her trees and we got a bunch of avocados after that for years. I would go ahead and get another avocado plant and plant it like 5 foot apart that's what she did it's something to do with the pollinate cross pollination. Good luck👍✌✌

Kelly just wanted to let you know that if you wait till the later days of scallop season the meats in the shells will be much bigger. You will be able to tell the difference anyway. It’s a lot of work for that little bit of meat for sure. We use to go to stienhatchee and go late and have the ladies clean the scallops. You will find them you just have to ask about who cleans scallops locally. They will do it for you. It’s a little costly but it’s well worth it that’s for sure. Oh and by the way we did a fence for a guy that knows you been tuna fishing with you on one of your videos. His name is Derek. Very cool guy. One hell of a capt that’s for sure!!

I am a retired vet tech, studies have shown that dogs and cats crave greens and that is why they eat grass, too much cloriform in grass is why they puke. Add green beans or peas to their diet helps a lot, rinsed first of course.

The avocado will eventually fruit, which takes many more years than it would on a grafted tree. However, mono-embryonic varieties (which most are) don't grow true to seed, meaning the fruit won't be the same as the parent fruit. There's a high likelihood that it will produce low quality fruit that won't taste great.

Get some medicated chicken feed, if you haven’t already. It’s good to give medicated feed, twice a year. With only two chickens, you may want to portion your feed bag into quarters and give them a quarter of a bag. I think it comes in 50lb. Bags. Then freeze the rest.

I'm not sure if Parvo affects chickens but I know Florida has a real problem with these types of diseases ( long warm seasons ) . We got the most beautiful German Sheppard pup and I asked the breeder if she got their shots ( at least 3 times ) and she swore she did . We kept the pup in our enclosed porch and I heard him whine several times that night . I checked on him all night and he started throwing up in the morning . He started looking weak and was shaking so I ran him to the vet and he died before I could even get there ( really sad .. I was p'd off ) . I told my barely 3 year old son we had to take him back to his Momma ( he was too young tell him he died ) . So we immediately started looking for a new puppy and got our first Great Dane ( with all her shots ) . I sprayed the whole yard with water and bleach and even did the enclosed porch . My son absolutely LOVED Jesse you could NOT separate the two and that's where we learned to love Great Danes . PK

I've heard the same as to avocados not prospering from seed. I have tried a number of times in a hot house up here in New England. They all grew to about 24 to 30 inches then wilted and died. My local garden center says many plantation grow hybrid as well as GM varieties. So there could be something to it. But it could also be a question of soil pH (acidity). Your county agent can do a soil test on the pot mix you're using. Keep at it and good luck. Any commercial growers near you?

Most fruit trees are grafted so that they can bear fruit immediately. Yours grown from a seed is not. So you have to wait until it matures before it fruits. It varies with variety. I think avocado trees are about 5 to 9 years.

PSA Loud noisy coffee making at beginning of video will wake you up in morning.
It takes ten years to get fruit from seed if any. Buy a grafted tree.
My dog eats long grass too. I researched it and found it is digestive issues. Add a priobiotic to his food, he’ll be good. Unusual food station for him, looks like you are training him to eat off a picnic table.

ALL dogs do it cuz it binds in their stomach and stops them from having diarrhea and the pains with it.. if they ingested something bad thats making them feel ill they eat grass also to puke up foreign things... like a stink bug.. dogs can smell which grass is ok to eat so no worries.. hes normal puppers..

If the seed came from a local tree then it should be good..if it was from a food store (produce) then you will have to graft onto it a similar width of fresh green stem (from a local bearing tree)...there are videos on grafting, they make it look easy but the success rate is low 🤞

To produce avocados you must graft onto your tree any other avocado that is producing. The nice thing is you can graft more than one type avocado like Hass, Large Green Skin, Fuentes etc. Then you will have a variety of avocados on one tree.

Hey Kelly. You have to graft your avocado tree. If you take a cutting off of the original avocado tree or any other tree that also has good avocado and graft it onto your tree, your tree will produce the same avocados of the mother tree. Sorry about your chickens.

I didn't know you could find shark teeth off Juno beach, I always drove to Caspersen Beach near Venice. Now I know, next time I'm on town I'll go to Juno. THANKS ;-)

I've planted avocados 🥑 seeds in LA area of California and they produced avocados 🥑..I believe it takes two to three years..I also believe you need at least two trees to get the pollination going..I had four at the house 🏠 😉..good luck/ fresh avocados 🥑 are delicious 😋 👍 😀
