Craw: Black/blue stained water, Green pumpkin for clearer water, Red spring when water temp 50

Awesome video dude. So glad I found your channel brother!! Chatterbait has definitely been my confidence bait this past summer!! Especially after having been stationed in Alaska for 3 years. What a great video and some excellent tips. I gotta tell ya I have caught some nice ones on white chatter baits but my 3 favorites that you can't go wrong with is bluegill, green pumpkin and black & blue and I almost always use a craw trailer or a paddle tail!

I have got back into chatterbaits because of you throwing them all the time and catch fish on them, so i seen MB had the jackhammer deal going on at the time, so i got them in the only color they had was the green pumpkin and i got my 1st ever chatterbait fish's. I got two that day on it. Thanks Gramps 💯.
Hell yeah, I buy those Strike King version of the jackhammers in bulk, but we'll talk about the project I have in mind for those over the winter 😎

Never heard of or used a chatter bait, just getting back into fishing and saw some other videos about them. Great color breakdown and awesome tips. I do love me some Gamakatsu hooks so I will be getting the Elite or the Jackhammer for this spring! Thanks again Gramps, keep the content coming!

I've been using a white chatterbait with a smoke black gold flake kamikaze swimon by big bite baits I love using them for trailers and thank you for breaking down the colors gramps can't wait to use a fire craw color next spring

Hello Gramps. Love hearing about your passion and expertise with the chatterbait. I haven't been successful yet but I am making a concerted effort to focus on this particular technique. This and the frog, of course.
I've posted a couple of times on Debo's live streams about your expertise on the chatterbait, Debo's expertise on the frog and Dizzle's expertise on the swim jig.
I think it would be cool if the 3 of you were able to spend an afternoon together and learn from each other about their particular area of expertise. I know that's not realistic because everyone has their own life and you're not in each other's backyards.
My confidence bait is a Ned rig - particularly the 10,000 Fish Green Pumpkin Sukoshi Bug.
But I'm drawn to the chatterbait and the frog and have all the equipment, just none of the success.
That's not stopping me from placing an order at American Legacy Fishing for more gear now that sales are coming around.

Great video keeping it simple i like the thunder cricket with a blade minnow or chatterbait elite with a kamikaze swimon other trailers menace grub or chigger craw
I've had good success with the Swimon I got in a MONSTERBASS bag, need to get some more
Caught my PB (5.15) on a Jackhammer clear water shad and trailer was a spunk shad (crystal clear).
jackhammer does the trick!
I also like the tackle warehouse custom chatterbait. Keep up the great content!
I love the OG ones for 3$ also today I stepped up to 8.1 with braid on a glass rod is $$$$$ .

Whew that fire craw chatterbait looked 🔥. I'm gonna have to try that in the spring....love my craw/jucee jig combo so this might be my 2nd go to.

From my personal experience the best trailers for me are the zako & 10,000 fish yoto worms..

Chatterbait quickly became a confidence bait for me a few years ago , they flat out catch fish . My favorite is still the original, I’ll throw a junebug Chatterbait with a junebug baby d-bomb trailer late night or pre-Dawn with spectacular results ! Love this video series Gramps !

How much do you feel the blade color comes into play?
Gramps I have the Z Man Mini Max 1/4 oz what would be a good trailer . Most trailers are to big and have to cut them . Stay Safe Tight Lines
Not sure size wise how it would compare with the Stealth blade, but I'd say the 3.2in Divine swimbait or a curly tail grub.

Do you have to remove the zman stuff from the chatter baits after fishing or do they cause problems if left on?
i leave them on, but store in other compartments of my chatter bait box unless the trailer is elaztec , then store together
I got a 3/8th tungsten green pumpkin/black football jig, 1/4oz green pumpkin jig, 1/8 oz black/blue flake jig and a 3/8 black/blue flake chatterbait. just made purchase for a perch/bluegill style pattern chatterbait to go with the black and blue in the 3/8th oz. So 1/4 and lower on spinning gear 3/8th-1oz baitcasting colors I use green pumpkin, black and blue, and a natural/realistic looking coloration for baitfish aka perch/bluegill because that one in most lakes, ponds, reservoirs or streams/rivers have perch/bluegill. so those three colors or variations of these colors I think your okay.
I’m kinda disappointed that you didn’t give the Big Bite Baits swimon some more love. It is my absolute favorite trailer for chatter baits. I do like and use the zacko and the fluke but I’ve had better success with BBB swimon
I gave what I got bit on the most and have the most confidence in during my tournaments
