  • The EGO Power+ 52" Zero Turn, the ZT5207L, is the latest addition to EGO's line of electric lawn mowers. It's got a lot in common with its 42" predecessor, but got some decent upgrades as well, starting with the 52" fabricated steel deck. The mower comes with six 12.0Ah Power+ batteries, and altogether it gives you the power equivalent of a 25 horsepower gas engine. In this video, Kenny tells you all you need to know about the Z6 mower before you buy.

    Love the fact EGO added a Deck Wash Port to this beautiful Fabricated Deck!
    Is there a " Manufacture Specific" Mulching Kit available for this 52" Electric Monster?

    Great video thanks so much i'm looking at the ego fifty two inch I have one question That I haven't seen answered on any TH-cam channels regarding these mowers that is the removal of the deck in order to sharpen and then reattach the. Mower blades? Can you comment on how easy or difficult that is especially compared to other machines? I have a husqvana right now that is gonna be. Replaced with this ego I've done a lot of maintenance on it over the last 10 years including sharpening blades replacing blades et cetera et. Cetera just curious how the deck works for removal on this ego machine thanks.

    I currently have a Ryobi 52" Z. It is okay, but lacking in a number of ways. I recently purchased a 21" EGO to augment the bigger mower (trim where Z struggles a bit). I am using the double-blade setup on my 21" EGO and absolutely love it. It provides the absolute best mulch cut of anything I've ever owned. My question regarding this latest EGO 52" Z is, if you add the EGO Power+ ABP5200 52” Z6 Zero Turn Riding Mower Mulch Plug, how well does the mower cut?

    How is this thing on hills? I've got a sloped back yard with a slight gradient, nothing crazy but definitely would need some traction and power.

    Have had the 42” for two seasons, now have 98 flawless hours on the ZTR. Highly recommend. Will be upgrading to EGO’s 52” ZTR this spring as soon as a sale comes about……Good review, thank you.

      @@runroemer7741 I bought mine online at lowes (Fall of 2023). $1,000 off, plus charger, assembly included, and free delivery. Now I hope somebody makes a video on how to reinstall the mower deck. It took me 4 hours! Taking it off is a breeze. Many videos to do that. None on how to put it back on.

    $7k for a mower, and a super expensive battery bank you're going to be replacing every few years. I think ryobi and ego are still missing the mark on this for the majority of people who would buy it if it was more around $4k

    • @andrewd9373
      @andrewd9373 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they’re targeting the premium green market vs the green market, or trying to compete against similarly sized gas equivalents. When calculating my costs, it would be $2k/year in mowing services for my size yard, vs $6k for the 42” Ego. The batteries are about $300/pack today and have a 3 year warranty (so that’s equal to $1200 in gas or a fuel costs, and they can be reused in other products like the snow blower). I’d basically get my return on investment in 3 years or less (even faster if mowing services increase their costs or gas prices go up, not including maintenance costs for a gas mower).

      @@andrewd9373 if you don't count an hourly rate for the time you could be making money during the 2 work weeks a year you'll be sitting on the mower, then sure.

      @andrewd9373 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertusga I can see you might not be a fan of yard work, which is fine. But for someone like me who already bills hundreds of dollars an hour to clients, the half-hour I spend biweekly is pretty calming. The math is actually 8 working hours a year/season (30 minute biweekly to trim and leaf blow a yard my size, for 8 months/year = 8 working hours). I’ve been quoted a minimum $125/biweekly from lawn mowing companies, which is $2k a season. Just wanted to fix your math.

  • @JBK63

    Absolutely ridiculous price and faulty technology. That’s not a very long run time and understand that each of those six modules have a ton of individual cells in them that can easily fail especially under mechanical shock and high charge and discharge currents. You could take that same amount of money and buy a secondhand ex mark or similar zero turn gas powered engine and have it last 20 or 30 years without issue. Replacing those battery packs is going to cost a small fortune. The packs are so heavy they’re not very useful for any other ego tool. Until there is a significant breakthrough in battery capacity, recharge time and cost there’s just no reason to go this route.
    New battery technology is making strides every few months but I don’t see any compelling reason to be an early adopter at such a high cost of ownership.
    Service under warranty or outside of warranty is also another major issue.
