    The 42 inch deck is also metal. The knob in front of the seat is for adjusting the seat suspension. The mowing height adjust has never slipped in my 2 years of use. EGO says 1 1/2 acre for the 42 inch and 4 10 AH batteries, also optomistic
    Nice vid, thanks.

    I’ve driven over raised roots peeking out of the lawn and my 52” Z6 does push up the deck and secures it in a higher position. You have to reset the height after a root encounter. Mine does mow my 2 acres with the blade at 3/4 speed and ends with about 10% charge. 6 twelve amp hour batteries.

      Damn not even close to the 4 acres advertised

      Eesh… that’s disappointing.

      I'm guessing the 4 acres claim is with a 70 pound child on totally flat ground on the highest speed with the blades on the lowest speed... so... you know, not actually cutting grass.

    Nice review...perfect. I spent the money on this because I was sick of dumping money into my $3000 lemon husqvarna w/Kawasaki 24hp V-twin. What junk.

    So, I started my day hating my John Deere and decided this was the day it was getting replaced. After watching hours of TH-cam, I headed down to the Husqy dealer but they had the one I wanted still in crates until Monday. Out of fairness, I figured I should make the rounds and check out the others personally. I was very impressed by the EGO52, but not by it's price which was $10400CAD out the door. But there may or may not be a govt (taxpayer) rebate of $14-16K. This would've made it a little more palatable and put it in the running but even the dealer was unsure and it was not listed on the govt rebate website. So I ended up buying the CubCadet Ultima ZT1 for $6K out the door and am very pleased, but if there was less uncertainty about whether poor impoverished taxpayers could've subsidized me along with luxury Tesla owners, I might've bought this instead because it is pretty impressive.

    I don't know about your experience removing the deck to sharpen blades, but mine is a nightmare. I bought the 52" EGO because the promo from the company made it look so easy to remove. It did not demo how to reinstall it. Now I know why. While getting mower ready for next season, removal was easy, but...
    After knocking out the lift lever pins, the deck drops down flat on the floor. Lining up the holes to reinstall is, so far, impossible. Even using a pry bar and some boards under deck, 4 hours later and I quit for the night. I'll try again tomorrow.

      Why would you remove the whole deck just remove the blades?

    I just got one. Practiced in the driveway for 1/2 hr.. Instructions say to push left lever forward to turn right, and vice versa. Doing that makes the turn much faster than I wanted to go! I found that a more intuitive way to turn is pull back a little on the lever on the side of direction I want to go. How do you make your turns? Am I right?

      Agreed, in my experience its a little bit of moving both sticks gently in opposite directions to turn. Even so, sometimes the turns can be sharper than you anticipate. One thing that has surprised (and disappointed) me a little with this mower is that it never quite behaves consistently in its movement. You think you have a strong feel for how its going to handle a turn or a slight hill etc and suddenly it throws you for a loop, just enough to make you doubt it. I've ridden plenty of zero turn mowers, Ariens, Cub Cadet, John Deere etc and never had that kind of experience before. It's odd.

      Thanks for taking the time to reply. I guess I will have to get used to it with practice. I'll use it to mow for the first time today. I've got hills to mow, some that have to be mowed across. Think I'll do those with my John Deere, until I get confident with Ego. One advantage(?) with Ego is the width of rear tire track is five inches wider than the Deere. Thanks again.@@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc

    Is all that static noise from the lawnmower and also does the parking brake spring go bad a lot also the steering controls?

    • @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc
      @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The static noise is probably from my microphone which was failing on me in several of these videos. The mower itself is very quiet other than the "fan" noise from the blades. I haven't had any issues with the parking brake or steering controls. The steering controls especially I would be surprised if there was any issues because its pretty much a straight linkage.

    Just about to splurge on one of these. I've seen several complaints about the deck rattling and causing premature wear. What's your take on that?

    • @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc
      @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It definitely rattles. I mention that in the video. If you have bumpy terrain, you're going to hear it a lot. I have some very uneven terrain and it does ok but it certainly rattles more than it should.

      I have not noticed wear from rattling.

      12:17 p.m. U.K. Love mine, great seat, love that you can position it for leg length. Also like the hosepipe attachment system for cleaning the underside of the cutting deck and the cup holder’s great for taking a couple of beers when it’s warm out! 🍻

    Nearly one year after, are you still impressed? Any issues develop, unexpected limitations or other concerns?

    • @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc
      @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It is holding up well! I just mowed my whole property this week and was asking myself the same questions. No issues so far, everything works exactly as it should. I've found at least for my property, I can really only mow properly in the "Control" mode. Sport mode is way too jerky and difficult to utilize. I still wish it had slightly better hill capabilities due to my rugged backyard but that's an inherrent problem in all zero turn mowers (gas or electric). Really nothing I'd change other than see if they could fit bigger rear tires on it.
      So, in short, yes still impressed and pleased with it. Its really nice to never have to mess with gas and hard starts in the spring.

      @@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc that's great. I like your review b/c your yard and terrain are a little similar to mine which is not a refined, perfect lawn. Lots of weeds, stick debris from trees, undulations but no big hills. Have you ever got it wet, maybe accidentally caught out in a downpour? Any trouble with lush areas of grass?

    • @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc
      @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Not had a full-on downpour but did have some light rain as I was finishing up once. I think it would do alright in most weather conditions, at least as well as any riding mower.
      As far as thick grass, I've mowed some areas with a good foot-and-half tall thick lush grass when the spring growth spurt got away from me. That definitely bogged it down (as it would have my Cub Cadet X2). For that kind of mowing, I recommend setting the deck on the highest height. It will plow through the grass but you might have to hit some areas twice for a good cut.

    Audio is very poor

    • @DanielGoodwin-jq1oc

      Yes, apologies. I didn't realize that my old camera only had one functioning channel. Newer videos should be a bit better with audio.
