The Starlink satellites have been visible in the sky the last couple of nights, and there will be a few more opportunities to see the train of lights in the sky.
    What are Starlink satellites?
Starlink is a satellite network developed by SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk. Starlink uses a network of more than 2,000 satellites orbiting Earth more than 340 miles up. The company is continuing to launch satellites in batches as part of its goal of providing high-speed broadband internet around the world, particularly in places with poor connectivity.
"Most satellite internet services come from single geostationary satellites that orbit the planet at 35,786 km," the Starlink website says. "Starlink is a constellation of thousands of satellites that orbit the planet much closer to Earth, at about 550km, and cover the entire globe."

I live in Southern Ohio and I track Starlink from my house and I watch it all the time passing over Southern Ohio. It's really amazing.

same but it wasn't it was 2 hrs an 45 mins after it had launched and as the video explains, that was just the rocket carrying them up there, i knew they were too far apart and they are not meant to stay still and kinda vibrate at different rates.. i am weirded out lol.

Sorry but noway is it sunlight reflecting off canisters in space.
About 2 years ago, 180 miles north of Las Vegas, 60 miles north west of Beatty, a friend and I were prospecting/ camping. Around 10 pm, we witnessed a string of pearls of 13 balls of light zip across the sky from right to left in 4 seconds at a 30° angle above the horizon.
5 minutes , followed by 45 balls of light along the same path. Both "flew" in a sw to ne direction.
Both balls of light were way too large and close to be in space. Since satellites are about the size of a office desk and have no propulsion.
Also, the canister is tube shape so why would not the light reflect along the side in a horizontal shape?
    Tks

I'll take "what is astronomical twilight? for 500 Alex"
Us in northern latitudes that have the northern lights - part of the summer has no true night, only a few hours of astronomical twilight, and it's amazing. Satellites are super visible.
The first dragon capsule to the ISS had to chase it down over a day. It was so bright i could easily take pictures on my phone of them.

😍😎I just saw these, about 30-40 of them, going over my head here in Pennsylvania. First time seeing them. Pretty low in the sky, equal distancing, close but not too close. Measuring with my fingers, lol, they are about an inch apart. It was a relief to realize what they were because at first i thought it was some sort of military invasion.😳

From what i read on Starlink's website is that they are putting all the newer satellites out with non-reflextive surfaces so it doesn't cause problems for astronomers. So, if these were just recently deployed, i assume they're new. Why are they reflecting like this?

These Elon Musk Star Link satellites are supposedly 350 up in the sky and they appear to be Bigger thst a commercial jetliner flying at 6 miles in the sky that would mean each light we see must be bigger than 4 Football Field's to be able to see it at 350 miles away. Don't ya think. And each Star Link satellite is about 9 feet by 9 feet. Thats way smaller than a commercial jetliner
