That truck has made it to and from the moon almost 11 times
As much as these trucks seem crude for today’s standards, it amazes me how advanced they were for the 1950s compared to what was being built in the Soviet Union and the Eastern Block at the same countries. I’m from Poland and I more or less know the history of this era.
Lovely video and an even more impressive truck. ❤ one thing for clarity tho is the distance to the moon which is approximately 238,000 miles. So at 5 million miles this truck made many trips to the moon. 👍
Now he is a true American trucker. Thank you for your dedicated service 💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'm personally not a fan of a COE, but these are awesome trucks. Great story too 👍
Good looking truck, I spent my first 12 years in a cabover I miss driving them.
Be safe drivers 🤠🌵🙏
Cool machine 😎👍
Good Narrator, and a good video. I like to see the older models and hear of the stories behind them. Thanx for sharing.👍
That bastard was as tough as a pit grill steak
Wish they still made these
That's cool
If the moon is supposedly 240k miles away.. 🤔
Good truck but I personally rather drive automatics it's way too much up shifting and down shifting AGREED?
@georgie.
No, in fact disagree. Other than urban traffic I'll choose walking through the gears and having that torque control any freaking day and a helluva lotta miles.
@@chuckg2016Thot the same but these new Allison's stay in the torque even when they shift.

I can believe that. Allison has delivered the power on heavy earth moving equipment under trash conditions for years now without a stumble.
Try driving In the rockies in a blizzard with auto shift, the only way to get over is to stay OUT of the torque ya can't with auto I drive around them all day.

That's where I learned to drive and logged most of my miles pulling West out of Denver.
👍👍👍
