Stunning 1985 4.2 litre XJ6 Series 3 Sovereign in excellent condition and with outstanding provenance. The car comes with complete documented service and ownership history, large invoice file, photo album, all original owner manuals and spare keys. Having only travelled 116,446 km from new, the car is in excellent mechanical condition. The doeskin leather is excellent, so too the wood, dials, carpet and headlining. The Cranberry paint is immaculate, there is no rust and the bright work is sublime. This particular example is the top of the range Sovereign with Luxury Pack which included: Rear headrests, power sunroof, trip computer, cruise control, height adjustable drivers seat and the much loved pepper pot alloy wheels. Almost impossible to find in this condition, this appreciating classic is worth inspecting, any test welcome.

My dad had two of XJs, in 1975 XJ6 two door coupe in special grasshooper green, black roof over biscuit leather. He drove it until may 1989. In july same year, he bought XJ40 in kingfisher blue over light gray leather. That car is still alive, in good condition, has 188tkm, making us happy every minute with it.

This engines works unbelievable smooth... Even the v12... I don't know if they are built by Jaguar or Cosworth but I never heard another engines so quiet.

The only thing I dislike about that car is the awful 3 speed transmission. I owned one, and it did 60 mph in 1st & red lined in 3rd at 125 mph, which seriously hampers fuel consumption, and performance.
