Great video and useful advice. I just picked up a Nex 5 for a bargain to shoot photos of my artwork because my smartphone camera wasn't doing them justice. I'm totally going to get a Canon FD mount adapter and some lenses as you suggested, and am amazed at how cheap they are on eBay!
Nice video, I only have the NEX3N out of this series. Works well along with my A5100 and A6000. I like manual mode with auto ISO. Not set my 3N to that yet but will. I agree that vintage lenses are awesome.
My favourite camera i own is the Nex C3, i have a few vintage lens for it and they work great but am now looking for a lower aperture lens, going to try the canon fd 50mm f1.8. thanks
Nice video, thanks. I shoot with an NEX 6 since early 2015, after years of Nikon DSLR's (which I still use), and I can tell you that the images from the Nex 6 are better at ISO's up to 3200, than the Nikons, which is driving me crazy, as I just got a D7200, and the Nex kicks its butt in smooth images with no grain. I also have been shooting the a6000 for almost a year now, and find I get smoother images with the Nex! I am looking for another Nex6, as I am taking it, along with the a6000 more and more when I travel. Have you compared grain from the Nex6 vs DSLR image grain, or noise?
Very good video. I love the linked information and the tips. I only have one small critique: Your hands are very distracting, there are a few techniques used for you are giving lectures or a talk: You can clasp your hands below the viewing angle so that you don't gesture so much or your can hold a camera so then you are less likely to use your hands to make your point.
I’m a new beginner & I have a small home studio & I want to stream & record videos I had brought a used Sony NEX 7 that’s in like new excellent condition for $300 & it came with a lens a hood & two batteries and since you’re a professional I wanted to know what would be the best inexpensive zoom lens that you recommend that I get for the NEX 7? because I have been seeing the SONY 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 FE OSS zoom lens used online for under $200 so I wanted to know your opinion because I don’t want to upgrade to a brand new $1700 Sony A7-3 if it’s not necessary since I am a beginner
Hi! I just got a Meike MK FE 50mm F/1.7 for my Sony NEX 5T, but when I am attaching the lens, it is giving me a warning that lens can not be detected. Can you please help me on how to solve this problem?

Hi, maybe it's too late (lol) but you need to go to settings and look for something about shooting without lens. It's because, since it's a manual lens, the camera won't detect it.
I purchased a nex 5r after watching this video. I lo e it, bit I can seem to get the applications o the camera. Ive updated to the latest firmware and still nothing. Any suggestions?
Wanted to buy the NEX-5N but I just found out that you can’t wirelessly transfer photos and videos to your iPhone 😕 So you would have to use a computer every time.
@@jeanemeliesha935 Probably. I ended up picking up a NEX-3N which you can also not transfer photos and videos wirelessly. I bought a Lightning to SD card adapter to transfer photos to my iPhone. That way I don’t have to use the computer. It’s the easiest method I found
A tip its best to show people the camera and how it works a d not just talk about it, not being funny but no one wants to watch someone just talk about it!
i am a low light expert , so i can give you advice that no one will tell you , ISO is irrelevant for noise , dont listen to this man , ISO makes no difference to level of noise , ISO only lowers your Dynamic range because its a speed indication . Basically imagine every pixel as a bucket for light , ISO 100 is the biggest bucket , and the higher it goes the smaller the bucket . This has nothing to do with Noise . Size of the light bucket has nothing to do with noise . The reason your picture is Noisy on high ISO , is becase you did not fill the bucket with light , or you used to fast shutter speed .Starving the sensor of light , that is why it is noisy . ISO setting only change Dynamic range , do not change the Noise levels . SO how to shoot at high ISOs , well prolong the shutter speed , slower shutter speed , more light . IF that is not possible , shoot 10 pictures , then combine them in post , Stack them , and you will get your shot Noise free . If you must shoot fast , if you must starve the sensor of light , then there is no help . But 99% of time , like examples in this video , there is no need for starving the sensor
I just picked up an NEX 5R for dirt cheap, so I've been absorbing all of your NEX content. Your videos have been a wealth of knowledge!
just been given an nex-6.

Thanks for the video. I just returned the Sony A7III after 5 days. I will wait for the Sony A7IV and save up money while still using the NEX-7.

No it isn't a clean HDMI output.
Maybe make some videos on using photo software
Thanks for the information :)

Yes, it enlarged to 7x and 14 x
Thanks for this.
